Alot of it's gone windows only, yeh, it used to be way better. FreeCAD is the major package these days. Generally, anything that's super batchy is a bit better on linux, but at some point, that's arguably server-level work.
IE: Unity/Unreal rendering farms, or blender.

If you drive a shit ton of short stops, you’ll kill the engine with those oil changes
You lug the engine around before it can even get to proper temp and then shut it off
Carbon and oil deposit build up is intensified
excessive wear also because oil pressure wasn’t at peak
Even if I pull my car out of my garage just to park it on the curb while I do stuff i wait until the oil temp is at least moving, cause then I’m actually at oil pressure and the oil won’t turn into gel from being heat cycled quickly
