Any update on the whole ffxiv+9070 situation? My 9070xt order fell through since it wouldn't get here until late May at best, but I could spring for a 9070 and save some money while I'm at it. Problem is I'm gonna play like 90% FFXIV at least, so I'm wondering if pivoting over to the 5070ti is a better choice for my use case.
41% efficiency loss compared to the 5070ti seems completely absurd at these specs, so surely it has to be a driver issue, right?

Imo yes the 1% lows are a lot better on the 9800x3d as well as it being faster
At 1440p it’s only like a few % faster average but the 1% and 0.1% low difference still exists

FSR 4 is in between DLSS 3 and 4 now so it’s harder to sell to people who actually do the research
FSR 3 was pretty shocking compared to DLSS 3 which made it a bigger deal
AMDs next gen brings together their CDNA and RDNA cards for the UDNA ones which means they should be close to matching Nvidia in productivity too
CDNA is their enterprise or workstation stuff
AMD messed up pricing on launch last gen a lot if they didn’t I do believe they’d have had a lot more people purchase them lol

I really don't want to be a luddite, but honestly the very idea of AI upscaling kinda frightens me at an artistic level. I'm sure it's actually amazing and obviously is huge for performance, but something about the whole thing just rubs me the wrong way. It gives me the same feeling I used to get when old emulators would have those smoothening filters on them to mask the pixels. I know it's unreasonable since AI upscaling is like a billion times more complicated than a smoothing filter, but still these are uncharted waters for me.
If anything I'm looking forward to seeing it in action on my own PC. You bet I'm gonna test it out just for fun.

But regular upscaling doesn’t cause many if any weird issues like frame gen
People keep saying frame gen isn’t noticeable but I’ve never had it on and been able to put up with it honestly

When I heard that the Switch 2 would be using AI upscaling, I was actually excited because maybe we'd finally get good framerates on games that aren't mario kart. Obviously there is a big usecase for it, especially for handheld gaming I think.
