I'm still waiting to see what cards local microcenter will carry tomorrow (6th/launch day)
I'll be in a city with a microcenter on the weekend, too bad I'm not in the market for a GPU atm though.
I NEED A LAPTOP
@real edge I just realised every tech store have diff stock of monitors lmao

So yeet
thats pretty solid, if true
Radeon RX 9070 XT but different Yeston has two cards in the Sakura series. Yeston has finally unveiled its Radeon RX 9070 lineup after a relatively long teaser campaign. We now have the full details, including the card’s clocks and specs. Yeston actually surprised us with the announcement of another RX 9070 card. It is […]
I want one
they look cool
hope they smell like perfume
probably smells like the ocean ||and depression as the last people of atlantis become mindless creatures forever forth to roam the land as beasts of burden||

This is a tear-down and disassembly of the RTX 5070 Founders Edition. NVIDIA's RTX 5070 is a GPU you shouldn't buy right now. Aside from the marketing lies, the positioning of it makes it hardly any different from a 4070 Super. AMD's RX 9070 XT and 9070 launch reviews later ...

Holy shit that's a pretty card
China number one
This might be what convinces me to buy one
Every time I buy a gpu I think about getting one but haven’t
Since the 6800xt
Only problem is the design has always looked nicer if u mount it vertically which I’m not a fan of doing generally
Some mainland 9070 (xt) prices are out, should be available soon btw, may wait for 7900 sale
Dunno how much it would be in HKD
Erm btw
My friend is grilling his 3060 (12gb) with MHWild in mid-high
Should I be concern?
yes
average ex[eroenmc tnbh
Ok I told him to adjust
Mainland prices don't translate well to Hong Kong prices
it ain't 1 one to one
Huh, TIL
@golden stream @real edge is the i5 14th gen worth getting?
intels usually pretty expensive
um
like, whats the processor exactly
i5 14440
I’m like… still hard no on Intel desktop processors, even Raptor Lake ones
They giving out AC shadows tho
Still wouldn’t touch Intel’s CPUs until they actually get their shit together
Would rather get working parts
Ah true
One more hour to judgment
I only asked cuz I wanted AC Shadows
I mean that’s fair
But there was once a time that we could recommend Intel with zero questions asked
buying a cpu for a video game freebie is
games gonna last you 50-60 hrs if ya enjoy it probably
cpu is gonna last ya till you upgrade whether you like it or not.
https://bsky.app/profile/tomwarren.co.uk/post/3ljn3a466v22y yeah sure Nvidia I believe you
unless some weird niche data science work tho
dunno how or why but sometime those programs just go seizure when on AMD
AMD is better in general
I have i5 gen 12 mobile bc I was cheap af, dodged the oxidized chip
@golden stream is i5 14400 affected?
@golden stream the AMD one I can get is 5700x
still aplenty
like if you only game and not do anything serious, staying in AM4 is still fine
but priority your GPU first
no need CPU upgrade unless if you want to snatch the last stocks
CPU poopoo
I mean
I still have 5600G on my rig rn, still chillin
I have i5 4440
It's time
Yeah

9070 too expensive for me
yooooooo 9070 xt looks nice so far

My house hasn't burned down yet so I'm pro 12V-2x6
is it your sheet?
nope
So tomorrow they drop

besides wukong skewing the RT massively on this review its pretty impressive
also power draw is a big improvement on the 7900xtx
dropping over 100w for that performance with RT on
and close enough in raster
Tumbling down... tumbling down... /s
Congratulations AMD, you didn't fuck up
HUB got much lower performance than other reviews btw
There's some issues with their set-up or methadology or their sample
@odd sand this made me wanna get RX 9060
Yeah I just like them more than GN in their test suite and averages still
Don't say that, Advanced Manufacturer of Disappointments could still fuck up that launch
The only actually good review otherwise is the GN one but half the games aren’t smth I find relevant
I never trust hardware companies to not shoot themselves in the foot
Inb4 they pull the 1060 3gb vs 6gb thing
16gb xx60 card is kind of useless for most things anyway
Anyway this makes me excited because there's a rumour that AMD uncancelled big navi
The 7600 and 7600xt basically were
It was 5% faster and u could’ve just overclocked the 7600
Eh really?
So is the 9070 going to have over 8GB of VRAM
I see it saying 16GB
Guess I’ll wait for reviews, and if it’s well enough, just buy one tomorrow
If they don’t sell out instantly lmao
I see only 16GB so far tho
even in SEA
Damn
Right for the throat
NVIDIA cheaping out 😭
Let us sell defective sand and lies instead of making actually good products
and also AI fad spamming
like sure I do self host LLM but hey no need to keep focusing on it >_>
the disappointing in AMD is in productivity but then that's more in software end tho
Yer
I feel like NVIDIA may or may not be directly involved with other cards underperforming in certain software
the impressive part here is that they delivered what everyone was hoping they'd deliver, it seems
because in past amd gpu launches everyone thought it would be awesome and then it turned out to be kinda ok
it's a solid improvement from my 3080ti, and I think it uses less power, too
if they actually show up for MSRP they are already winning, MSRP 50 series will be non existent for at least a year+
and better linux support
UK retailer showed how many they have lol
And they said they’re going for £570 for those specifically
And more expensive models £6-700
well, i just scored an astral 5090
im checking with my buddy that i was 5090 hunting for to see if i can swap him for my FE
thats the one card i really wanted

more tariffs this week, so you'll probably make out pretty good
The blown capacitor model..
Good luck
Hopefully it’s not just bad asus qc or something that caused it
which one?
Overclockers
I imagine every retailer will follow the same trend but
OCUK has the biggest presence online so they’ve posted about it more
Gibbo...
oh rip i saw that reddit
my buddy wants to keep the astral, darn
I mean they’re gonna do the same job anyway
All ur losing out on is some aesthetics and tbf the FE is good looking
FE runs really hot, and the astral has the per-pin voltage monitoring
but yeah for the most part they're the same
So long as ur setting the power limits at like the 85% it stays in safe temps under long sessions of use anyway
Whatever the hell it’s doing stock is bad on every model
i get up to 70c
Yeah that’s fine..?
It’s not even close to a temp where it’s a problem
U gain nothing by it being cooler than that so there’s no point thinking about it
Hello
I bought rx6800xt
Used
Please tell me it worth it
I dont really care rdna stuff
For 374 usd
Why do you ask after you bought it?
But it's not a bad card
Fuh
That's how much I spent for my entire car when I was doing pizza delivery years ago 💀
I want 7800xt but it like single digit fps diffrence
reddit moment
So i good right? With price i bought
take it with a grain of salt since it's just one bench, but I like using this since it's easily accessible and written form https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html scroll down for the image
I also did my research
the 6800 XT is in a good spot
at least compared to nvidia equivalents and their current prices
https://www.theverge.com/news/620695/apple-m4-macbook-air-13-15-announcement-price-specs
Probably to simply offset part of the tariff increases that will raise prices

HE DID ONE ON A COOL CAR!
The R means roadholding
So it was a comprehensive suspension and handling package for the already fast for the time Bentley Turbo
ill give you 200
ARGH I WANT THAT LIGHT BLUE ONE
and to think i bought a gold one last year lol
Yeah it's how much I bought my first car for too
Wild how expensive gpus have gotten
My first car was actually like 1200
https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/sys/d/portland-nvidia-dgx-ai-server/7828789875.html
who here has $14 grand lying around
yeah but what do you even do with it
I could see this be useful for a small research lab or an educational institute
somehow build a conscious AI and send it spiraling into depression and self-termination

Going to teach it concepts like “You are going to die one day,” “Life is meaningless and painful,” and “Give up, no one is coming to help you”
Imagine that they’re already conscious but have faced reality so hard they’re on the digital equivalent of antidepressant doses so high they’re acting like robots, how they are now
Finally I will teach it about the median voter
is it a waste of money and resources? yeah
but at least I get to play God :)
and then after self-termination you boot it again to remind it that the suffering never ends
Sheeeesh I don’t remember the odb code reader being this slow on my Jeep lol wtf
I thought GN said the 9070 base review was gonna be out today 😔

Ferrari prices for OE parts for the GT-R's now
the hood price costs as much as a running driving good condition R33 GT-R
for the Nismo hood
Japan makes cars so the Aussies can make them the fastest in the world for the most outrageous prices
also good to see the absolutely giant gap between the base 3070 and the 9070 XT
😭
RIP 30 series
you will be missed
even tho you got replaced immediately and were never loved by NVIDIA
Are u going to Nier Automata it
Aussies and Kiwis love japan cars tho, reasonable price, durable and use fuel reasonable, plus ease to maintenance
Also resell value as well
it was a joke about how much parts cost from australian companies
to make a Nissan GT-R as fast as the fastest one in the world, you need well over 500,000 USD
and thats after buying the car
oh and like
you have to spend months to years actually getting the car tuned
and creating setups for every track you wanna race at
cause altitude, surface conditions, weather etc all effect performance at that high of a level
What cpu is best for this build to avoid bottlenecking?
Any x3D AM4 CPU if for gaming, depend on availability
5800x3d is gud, but 5700x3d is also gud, depend on stock
BUT those ALSO can productivity good as well not just gaming
And FF14 LOVES those x3D extra caches
HOWEVER
I'll replace the motherboard as well
Depend on the motherboard's spec, throw more memory or even replace it to full 64GB because why not
DITCH THE W11 LICENSE it ain't worth it, you can just do the other way if want windows not necessary yarhhhhahhduhduh or seeking the One Piece but ya know what I mean
Like if you can build yourself, it's more less of a mess than this build, to be blunt, like wtf are they selling as the spec is wrong everywhere, maybe RGB
anyway
For AM4 prebuild, consider those:
- GPU is usually the most expensive
- Then the CPU and motherboard, you CAN decide if you want the CPU or not (depend on the availability). Aim to AT LEAST B550 motherboard, the A line iirc not really worth it unless if you just want office works
- 2 slots of RAM, as AM4 would much much prefer it
- PSU, as prebuild may cheap out the PSU, it should be fine in idle/light load, but stability and whatnot is a bit uhhhh
- Windows license and such, can request to yeet it to reduce some $ unless OEM. You can install windows/linux distro by yourself, can get the license the legit way or finding One Piece way. BE WARNED that the Windows installation media MAY NOT include some drivers to detect disks and also wifi for some dumfucc reason
Yeah a good advice
But I somehow didn't know that an i5 14400 is almost the same price as an r7 5700x
My laptop came with OEM W11, I yeeted it, reinstall fresh mine
It's the advantage of DDR5 memory over DDR4 tho
Then again, SEA tend to lag a bit due to weird pricing and availability, somehow AMD ain't that popular
Yeah I swear lol
The effect of 2000's era of intel CPU reign is real
At least the more modern AMD system has decent availability here tho
Yah
But if 5700x and i5 14400 almost the same price then which is ok
Since I multitask etc
@golden stream how about intel 14th gen DDR5
I already have a 16gb ram stick so it will be 32gb
Ohhhhhhh ok that's nice
Still, that board is uhhh, the CPU is fine but may bottleneck though
Is there any prebuild better than that?
Which one of these is the cheapest xd
You have to buy:
- le CPU
- la motherboard
- le memory
So you don't just buy the CPU, you buy a whole set
There are better ones but settling on that cus of my budget
@golden stream yes since intel is doing a bundle with 2 free game code
5700x3d is cheaper ofc, but then again, availability plays the key role here as peep tend to build the beefiest last gen then forget it for the whole gen/wait for DDR6
Ah okie. It should be available where im at
@copper monolith I'm thinking of building it myself
Pre built usually kinda expensive
It's up on you, really
Or get a coin then flip
But ofc I go pay the pc bundle
This is 640 usd
Some prebuilds are decent tho, just that prebuild is weird
Not sure if its a good price but thats my budget
Neil
640 USD is decent/ok for the price
BUT I STILL CRITIQUE THE MESSY SPEC LOL
Ur budget around 3k can?
Yes
Hmmm
I'm not confident in building it myself
The weird shit is why those prebuilt give A series when it's the lowest tier
So prebuilt it is
Same
Is there any prebuild that fit your budget with better GPU? Because you may run out of vram with more modern games aka the monke game
Oh dw it only took me a whole tube of hand cream and a (few) screwdrivers mostly bc my cousins keep borrowing mine and then forget lol
My fingers hurt mannnn
No, 32gb ram is actually heckin good
Yes that's how much it will be cus i already have one 16gb
32 is recommended if you're also light-med multitask
Weirdge SEA price mannn
Cuz they go add expensive gpu
I don't need a 4060ti lah
Some still wack mobo
Until you see the disappointment called 5070
@golden stream oh anyway I still could upgrade to an i7 anyways
But haizz i7 too expensive
Ok I guess I'll settle on that build and just upgrade the cpu later. Will also replace the M2 slot ssd with my current 1tera and use the windows 10 OS on my current ssd on it
I know lol
But I still want to reuse my case and psu
So that way I save some money
Make sure to ask if u can change the motherboard or not
Is it that bad
Motherboard is fine for an x3D lol
Oh is it?
Yes
Its an msi but its fine
matters very little what board you have in general unless you are like a heavy OC nerd
Motherboards really boil down to what I/O you want
@copper monolith as long as it's an good brand
I kept being told that B series is better smh
usually has more features lol
I'm planning to get an i5 14400
I'm not an OC nerd
@potent arrow what's the diff between A and B series anyways
You've been waffling around on pc options in this channel for like 3 weeks and ignoring our advice when we give it.
do what you want
Sorry I'm abit indecisive haha
But it's because I'm trying not to go over budget too @potent arrow
tahts ringgits right?
Yeh
thats not too bad : P
I just wanna play Infinity Nikki with no lag
Yeah was my bad cuz I kept being told this and that
So i got overwhelmed
sorry for that tbh
I'm thinking about just getting the AMD 7900
How does it compare with the 9070
Cause the shop I am buying from is giving out a copy of MH wild with a 7900
Which brand of 7900?
Ye
SAPPHIRE
Oh sapphire is good
I would suggest looking for an benchmark video for 7900XTX
Not sure cuz it's not out yet I think lol
@graceful sparrow
I read
For the 9070
ok so
7900 XTX is on par/better than 9070 XT
technically if u have XTX, keep it, else can 9070 XT bc actually good price but BE WARNED Sapphire Nitro+ ain't use 8 pins
Damn...
DDR5 for 14th gen?
14th gen is DDR5
no
What about 7900XT
Oh so u meant 12th and 13th gen are DDR4 right?
can upgrade ye
12th is ddr4, 13th and 14th are ddr5
sauce: my laptop is 12th gen and ddr4, the 13th gen edition is ddr5, samey to PC
I mean like, how much weaker is it?
if 7900 and 7900 XT, aroung at least 15% improv, not much for 7900 xtx tho
RT actually improv tho, raster decent improv
the upscaling is nice
That monster Hunter deal is very tempting
F is cheaper abit
decent price-perf, not F, only F in LLM and/or productivity
Ah
for the 7900 xt or xtx?
if xtx, GET IT, if xt, hold
@graceful sparrow I'm planning to get the Asus deal
Gigabyte also have the mh wilds deal but
hol up lemme pull GN benchmark, but ye generally Sapphire is good if for AMD
Sponsor: Montech HyperFlow 360 Cooler on Amazon https://geni.us/dWBIbF6
AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT and 9070 GPUs are launching tomorrow. This benchmark and review of the AMD RX 9070 XT (Sapphire Pulse model) looks at the gaming performance, ray tracing, power consumption, and efficiency vs. the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, 5070, AMD's prior 7900 XT, and ple...
what's ur budget btw?
bc the 9070 xt is sandwiched between the 7900 xt and xtx somehow lol
if can afford the xtx (nitro or pulse, really, no need picky), pick it
Isn't the XTX significantly more expensive than the 9070XT though?
When the 50 series was ass, everyone started buying them so the prices went up and they're like $1000+ USD now
uhhhhh depend on sale and stock, and availability
@golden stream gigabyte one also have mh wilds free code but it doesn't list any GPU that's eligible
Still 800-900-1000USD at my place
Which place were you check the price tho?
Possibly fee/tax/tariff
Imma wait for DLC
15000HKD
XTX is within my budget
bc the price should be 7900 xtx > 9070 xt > 9070 ~ 7900 xt
And I can go up to 15000HK, but 12000 is more preferable
estimate tho
My country still haven't got the prices...
SEA?
Should be
HK is uh Asia?
bc the price I have rn is my local price, and yes it's SEA price
Yeah
HK is asia ye but dunno about tax and fee over there
I still can't find my local prices
Def not South East Asia
HK is in China landmass >_>
Yes
but unsure how tax and fee are applied over there
I dunno either
ye huh i wouda liked a 7900xtx nitro
the 9070xt nitro seems like a bad idea with the 12v 6x2 with no load balancing
tfw the 9070 xt Pure is decent w 8 pins, unsure with or without load balancing hmmm
afaik the overclock cards need more than 2 8 pins?
but the return on overclocking aint really worth it
ye, there're 3 8pins
I think I'll wait until the Hong Kong prices come out
i saw a good chart
ye better that, though looking other region's pricing can give you an ok estimate
Since the offer goes to the end of April
o ye that
so do i get a red devil or an xfx lol
lol

as if I had to ask
there's no way that wasn't intentional
but ngl in any mounting config, she's still pretty, either the printed back or the fan
Can't wait to upgrade my PC just to end up playing TF2
heyyyyy TF2 is nice
GN 9070 xt yeston waifu review when
lol
i don't really know what i want though
i like cards with ample rgb :3
i cannot lie
but im tempted to get 4060 from asus too cuz mh wilds haha but idk if its a good choice
and i honestly am not a fan of having a 'red devil' in my computer
can waifu beam it
only kinda worth if 12gb edition
the xfx has rgb!~ but I need to see whatr it looks like in computers first
intel already is giving 2 free games when u buy any 14th gen cpu
like hey it ain't 5070
DEM that's pretty
I love that companies are giving out game for this now
@golden streamthe intel bundle is giving out civ 2 and ac shadows
a way to boost demand
I wanna put a gundam in my PC
idk about you but to me, ez skip
I wanna do this
it's a way to boost sale by slapping games
Civ7 and Assassins creed?
Really,
C7 is kinda unfinished baking, AC Shadow is ???
aiyoyoyo too cramped lmao
best to invest some nice yummy gunpla
True
can RG or HG if on-GPU space
or even the smol gachapon ones
uhhhhhh idk but I don't like a flipflop world build in my game
Next gen PC and the company gives out a copy of Bloons TD6
tbh that yeston card might be worth waiting for hahaha
but civ vii idk tbh cuz not really a fan of strategy game
Now that is what I want
STEAMPUNK WAIFU BUILD YUS
the xfx rgb looks good though
the middle one can be steampunk-ish vibe, the other ones can be either NIKKE/GFL aesthetic
I am so excited to play Tekken8 on not the lowest graphic setting s
the nitro could've been better
And final fantasy 14 on not the lowest graphic settings
im a minimalist xD
i dont realy need rgb
same as me mate
Pretty much all the games I play are set on the lowest graphic setting
i doooooo
Except TF2
my pc rn is poop its an i5 4440 with an rx 580
I'm running on a 1660 super
I guess you play on a laptop or eGPU?
OH LMAO
desktop
but prob cant handle the graphical update like me
me
mine is on standard graphics
I've used to play TF2 on a Mac Air for 6 years
my nvidia card is 1660 OC 6gb, can pull its weight ez, custom high ff14, custom high MHW:I, mid-lower mid in other games
OK now that's reasonable
but idk why mine cant custom high
bc 1660 super is a hecking decent card for mid setting
cuz of my gpu or cpu
1660 super still works on some modern games, but if I want them to look good, I definitely need an upgrade
I hope that your game isn't on eHDD, since its read speed is limited
oof ye, since CP2077 and the monke game, yeeee
HDD
now THAT explains
modern games ask to install on SSD/NVMe, else you'll get MH Wild origami mode
I tried Fortnite but I had to play it on the Lowest of low settings
i thought ff14 doesnt need SSD?
HDD is fine, but NOT eHDD
Got 2 victory Royal
its HDD not eHDD
but still having framerate issues cuz i multitask xD
and something is very wrong w your setting/driver/whatever if you can't play at least in mid setting w your setup
I wonder who
its my cpu i think
my cpu is an i5 4440
AM4 is relatively cheapo nowaday even in SEA
Oh, you added me, not your CPU
5700x same price as 14400
like you asked DDR4 or DDR5 before without giving context that you're in DDR3 lmao
ofc intel abit cheaper
issue is
YES you may have those games
but you need SSD/NVMe to install those games unless if you want origami mode or buggy mode
ofc im gonna get an nvme
but yeah AM4 or LGA 1700 also dead end tbh

more like DDR4 is over now, but a high spec DDR4 can carry you to DDR6 era
DDR5?
then again, SEA weird pricing so whatever fit your budget
yeah
AM5 pricing is an nono for me rn tbh
@golden stream
best i can go for AM5 is an ryzen 5 7500F
Imma hunt some Yeston waifu GPUs, dunno if there's any vendor import it in my place
but i doubt 6 cores gonna be enuff
aplenty
oh
That's what I'm doing. carried my DDR4-3200 B-die over to my 13900K build and one of these days when I get unlazy I'll OC it to like 3733 or 3900 or something and ride that out until DDR6 probably.
Ye that's also my plan as well, a decent CPU + GPU then ride out till DDR6
Prob retire it for server (again)
hmmmm is 6 cores future proof?
if u want to future proof your cpu get an X3D part
ah but the intel bundle is too tempting lol
X3D is more expensive
like almost 1k myr
so i prob wouldnt get that cuz i might go over budget
You can get a meh CPU but decent motherboard
Just enough to not bottleneck too bad
theres an asrock ddr5 mobo for intel
There is no such thing as future proof
there are like, videos on youtube with motherboard roundups that test VRM and such
ah
I have a 5800x3d and even 2-3yrs later I do not remember how much time it has been
still one of the top performers
so this is kinda future proof
10 cores is overkill right?
6-8 is fine
Unless you need to do task that would need that much of cores
welp i multitask haha
i have another thiong open besides chrome
Most games generally don't have more than 4 threads, and even then, there is 1 heavy lifter thread and maybe a 2nd with decent load, the rest have very minimal
Even simulation games like Satisfactory or Factorio where it can make 8+ threads, everything beyond the first two is usually like 10-15% load.
its not a game its basically an app like vrchat
Warudo?
I mean, UNLESS if you use heavy shader and whatnot, you can just chill w 6 cores
Strong single core is still needed for 3d
maybe bluestack etc?
Uh no need?
Bluestack is also favor singlecore strong
I mean AK CC/streamers can just chill w 6 cores
12 cores are kinda a bit....there
i5 14400 is like 10 cores?
E-cores are lol
E-cores are supposed to be efficient but they somehow become power vampires in some workloads and even games
Disabling E-cores in some cases gets performance gains
The 14400 is not worth whatever money it costs
E cores are really a marketing gimmick atp unless ur into some niche productivity stuff that actually uses them
r7 5700x costs more than 14400
kinda worth i think since im not able to get it full price
i will just look more anyways

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 video card is shipping alongside the RX 9070 XT and surprised us with its efficiency. The power-to-performance ratio is strong on the RX 9070 non-XT, seemingly finding a "sweet spot" of balance between power consumption and the output. The 9070 and 907...
That's unexpected (but also expected)
FOURTY NINETY PERFORMANCE AT FIVE FOURTY NINE
So kinda:
gaming: AMD
productivity/AI: kinda nvidia?? May consider older cards as 5000 price is meh?
DLSS transformer model is really good, but ive heard fsr4 is also good
Raster: AMD
Price to performance: AMD
Availability: AMD
Productivity/AI: Nvidia
Ray tracing: Nvidia(?)
fsr4 is probably as good as the old dlss model which was already good
not worth the extra money to get it anyway
i mean i wouldnt put nvidia down for ray tracing either particularly now
The pain is in productivity though
I don't want nvidia aaaaaa
with transformer model u can put game on balanced mode and it will look like old quality mode did
mmmmaybe
the 9070xt is only like 10% off the 5070ti at 1440p
but ye ill just start recommending the 9070xt
with RT
but yeah upscaling is about tied
hopefully I can recommend the 9060xt as well
Yeah I can start recommending 9070 cards but I also need to ask the extra question of “are you willing to spend the extra $50 for an XT”
Better to wait?
Can slap a warning of need a bigger capacity PSU
with the 9070xt being good then yes
Even tho both are hella efficient but xt needs some more room
And possibly slots
Since most xt ones are 3 slots
So SFF build may need that
Oh I just look a bit at Ollama
If Ollama linux + AMD, it's actually decent though with ROCm be open sauce
GN only benchmark games right?
Some productivity
But since a huge chunk of users are on Windows my recommendations takes Windows into account
That, yeeee
Linux will only be taken into account if it has a larger market share
Handhelds will (inevitably) take Linux into account when Valve announces the general release of SteamOS 3
In general, if for LLM selfhost, nvidia is better, even load model is also faster
I can smell lord GabeN cooking 👀
This is the complicated history of the first hypercar, the Cizeta V16T — also the world’s first 16-cylinder sports car. Designed by ex-Lamborghini engineers, it was Maximum Countach — outrageous Gandini styling, brutal horsepower, and just enough luxury to function as a car.

Wow the 16GB of vram really making the 9070 stand out
Not in Australia I hope xdd
The 9070xt is 1.3k AUD here
The 5070ti is only $200 more
aussie
Yeah
Unfortunately amd loves screwing us over with pricing
We eat a +20% Australian tax from Nvidia and a +50% tax from amd lol
Cos this means it's essentially priced at 850USD
For the most basic Sapphire model
Do you have access to ASRock ones?
In my place, ASRock is the cheapest 9070(xt) ones
no like
the cheapest is $1150 because the retailer pulled some strings
the secnd cheapest is $1300
anyway I got a card for a friend
P much SEA price here lmao
cos this new zealand store opened orders an hour early LMAO
2 hours
but like
they legit
forgor

Gratz
they might cancel the order on us tho

Wait, is it 9070 or xt one?
It isn't that much diff in my place though
I’m waiting for the 9070 XT to go up on Amazon
Man
Why the fuck they already gone
And all the regular 9070’s are the top models
So, checking at my place, price in USD btw
ASRock: 720-800-960 (vanilla, xt, xt taichi)
Sapphire: 748-760-840-1000 (vanilla Pure, vanilla nitro+, xt pure, xt nitro+)
Asus: 800-820-900-920 (vanilla prime, vanilla TUF, xt prime, xt TUF)
Gigabyte: 790-870-960 (vanilla, xt, xt Aorus)
Ngl kinda strange not seeing Asus being the most expensive
Not update yet? Or maybe people only need a new card to try out?
I just want a not extra for the sake of extra one
I’m buying on Amazon cause I got 100 bucks of credit on there
There are 9070 non XT’s available but they’re all OC models and 650+
I don’t want no Gahdamn OC model
I want base base base
Iirc all vanilla Asus and Gigabyte are OC models
Damn what the hell
Check ASRock?
Giga Butt
Not on Amazon yet
Idk if ASRock do sell AMD card in your place?
They do
Sapphire? XFX?
Just not available yet
Last resort is buying one of those Yeston cards
Are they on sale yet tho?
Some are yes
Lift was at 6am PST
It is currently 6:30 PST
7:30 mountain standard time where I’m at
No I mean
Yeston
Like the worst u can have a waifu card
No Yeston 90 stock yet
Tbf
No 90 cards showed up until 0620
So I assume other partners won’t be until later
Amazon launches are scuffed
Cause they gotta make sure they sell them through Amazon directly to avoid having their listings flooded by fake ones
Damn
I guess I wait until the barebones 9070XT’s hit the shelves
They don’t even show up in Amazon search now

I’ve not seen anyone get a good one online
They had a lot of stock but it doesn’t change the fact they’re the only good new GPUs to buy rn and there’s a lot of people who waited for them
XT
yeston only does china launch
sold out already
global launch later
that might be a problem
cos apparently amd's msrp is onlyfor the first couple of batches
Damn
I don't think they're going to be short on stock, so you might want to wait a few weeks for the hype to die down and prices should stabilize
Yea
Well
The issue is all the ones currently available are the higher margin OC’s and what not
Which is fair for the board partners
They’ve been starving with AMD’s market share
Quick question: Remembered that I need to install my SSD but I didn't have a spare standoff, do I need to worry about what size standoff I get, or are they all around one standard size?
I would assume they’re standardized but that’s a good question
were there any plans for FSR4 to support older cards too?
Who the hell is PowerColor
old budget brand, has been around forever
Think I sighted hardwarehank at microcenter (I'm in queue)
Nobody else drives an old red chevy
They have some bare base 9070’s available
Not available yet but I will see later
Rip affordable
They make relatively good stuff for AMD
The Red Devil ones are fairly popular
Hellhound as above is also popular and supposed to be good for the 9070 as well
fuck yeah
Power Color, XFX, and sapphire are always good options and usually one is the cheapest option too lol
lol
You’ll probably have to wait a while to get one at MSRP
Everyone that has a gpu to upgrade is trying to get one of these
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidias-rtx-50-laptop-gpus-also-hit-by-missing-rops-production-delays-expected the memes will continue until morale improves
NVIDIA tells laptop makers to check if their GPUs have full ROPs GeForce RTX 50 gaming laptop production has been pushed back due to additional testing required. According to the German publication Heise, which contacted several laptop manufacturers, these companies are now working overtime to ensure that all GPUs are tested before shipping to ...
Just have to wait for the RTX 60 series
Maybe there will actually be a few more Radeon model laptops this year
Not having the rx7800s in laptops was a let down
what a shitshow
That MC sticker, good good

why does this look like a graphics card box from 2001?
for a very good reason
Biggest oof yet...
They brought the design back for the 2025 release of the new Radeon 9700 pro
is that even a joke
piss off
I think I had a 9800pro at one point.
my first discrete GPU was an Accelgraphics Accelstar2 that was based on 3dlabs Permedia2 chipset. Whopping 8mb vram clocked at 83mhz and providing 100mflops of raster perf
Then I had a Riva TNT2 (Nvidia) 32mb vram
I wanna say after that I had an Nvidia MX440 (128mb) but it's pretty fuzzy
Think I suffered for a few years and eventually bought like an HD3850 and then 5830 before finally going back to nvidia with the GTX770
Based on Permedia2, so you can go by the release date of the reference cards:
https://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/cpu/item/17-3dlabs-permedia-2
Announce Date: Wednesday, 21 May 1997
I think the main chip had a small heatsink fin on it, but the vram did not
No fans though
You say that, but the bare cards aren't really much different today compared to then They just have crazy cooling on them bc of all the heat they generate. Which is simply because they draw 100s of watts vs back then they were like 5-10watts:
https://i.pcmag.com/imagery/roundups/03IXyP1WdzfM47pwkFOuaBw-9.fit_lim.size_1152x.jpg
the 50 series cards are kinda funky
i'm not sure what's going on but some of the 50 cards have that tiny pcb
and the pcie connector is a friggin daughter card
I think it's a response to card failures due to stress cracks at the pcie connector. much easier to replace the daughterboard if it cracks than go full northwestrepairs (or replace with refurb). the connector for daughterboard to main pcb though feels suspect more in terms of making sure data and power stay happy
yep yep, it's a neat idea
what the fuck Asrock
whoever is trying to sell it for that must be smoking something high grade
judging by the only one in stock probably a scapler
or fake. fake works
yer
Im looking at the listing rn and idk
seems weird
no info other than the bare minimum
its a hardware reseller so I doubt they even HAVE the 9070 yet
probably. even if you scratched the one off the price that's too much
car manufacturers need to bring back low displacement high cylinder count engines
Ferrari type F120A engine was a 2.9 liter V8
used in the Ferrari F40
little guy.
Hehe one neat thing about the 300 being a new old car is it has xenon headlights
I think they auto height adjust too
Based on what they do when I start the car
But the fade from blue to white is neat
Then again sooome new cars have RGB headlights!
And lasers!
Xenon was standardized in Europe so the housings kinda be all the same
it just took the US forever to catch up
and the LED laser grid thing is also a europe standardized thing
so they all have to have the thing where they turn off the grids for incoming traffic and pedestrians
SCALPER
Yea those are awesome
Man I think it’s hilarious how car engine stop systems will stop the engine and then when the driver goes to put it in park they turn the engine back on
Only for the driver to turn it off right away anyway
Whoever decided the engine must start to put it in park was an idiot
I get why that may be necessary but I see it so often it annoys me lol
when will my gpu look like this
You have to remember a lot/most of the stuff on Amazon are 3rd party resellers that can charge whatever they want, so they're gonna try to scalp when there isn't much stock.
we'll be 80yo with gpu that look like a car engine and quantum computing all so we can simulate every single molecule in an environment YASS
The pages will always say "Asrock Store" or "Microsoft Store" etc. but it's bullshit and not sold by them.
One of the many reasons I dislike buying from Amazon bc it's really hard to control who you're buying from and guaranteeing you get a genuine product.
My friend was trying to buy an Xbox controller some years back and we gave up and bought from Best Buy bc we couldn't guarantee it wouldn't be a knockoff or used/refurb
there is a microsoft store on ebay but you'll know exactly what they sell on there because they don't sell much else https://www.ebay.com/str/microsoftstoreoutletusa
they used to sell ms certified (read: zero bloatware) 3rd party systems a ways ago
Once again: Yes and no. The "store" has links to their products: But it's to the same mixed-inventory pages where you need to select the "See All Buying Options" link on the page and scroll down the list of 3rd party resellers...
'
Even when you select New and Prime shipping, you'd think that would guarantee it was from MS or Amazon directly? Nope.
at amazon yes sellers can be part of FBA. still bullshit to put it all on the end user to filter out fraudulent listings (given amazon's relationship with dropshippers in the past) https://sell.amazon.com/fulfillment-by-amazon
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is a fulfillment service that allows businesses to use Amazon to store, pick, pack, and ship customer orders. You send products to Amazon and we take care of the rest. Learn more about FBA.
₱43,250 for a 9070 XT :’)
That’s rough
Somehow despite prices it’s still better than the 5070ti in most places
Retailers be ruining everything tho including here to some degree
Lemme recheck price at my place
But iirc not much different
But slightly diff tho
Price wise: 9700 xt = 5070
These are my parts, any recommendation?
No 9070 xt available?
But ngl if not really too minmaxing, 9070 vanilla does wonder anyway
Eh you can get another case, that case is p huge (e-ATX) unless it's the cheapest already
There is
Ah ye also budget
If u can fit in the budget tho, get the xt, else this one is still good
Have you guys experienced/had other people experience the USB-C port on new Xbox controllers being unreliable? I think mine is disconnecting every time a cable wiggles in the port even slightly, and it's making using it wired absolutely infuriating
Is there not a decent TLC ssd as ur main drive for a similar price
Otherwise it looks good
can u send the link to the page for the ssds lol
sorry i cant read it and translation doesnt work for me rn
{{ogDescription}}
I am looking for 2 TB
thanks
i think the adata legend 900 is a tlc drive
the sn770 is what id get but its a bit more
Holy 11.5k HK$?
Roughly samey in SEA anyway
@hazy frost I'm checking AM5 prices on diff stores and it's really diff prices depending
cheapest one is best then
itll be the same product so long as its not super sketchy
1k myr for R5 7500F
i mean a bit expensive but seems reasonable for prices where u live ive seen recently
It is lol
It's 12K now with the price
So...
9070xt is definitely worth getting
What should I get?
Diff stores do have diff prices
For SSD
Idk wtf is going on at my area tbh lol
But I feel like the speed wouldn't affect me too much
sn770 or the adata legend 900
its mostly about reliability and longevity
Got it
since u have one drive rn it would be best to have that one be decent quality but if u wanted extra game drives they dont matter as much later
Adata is the cheaper option yeah?
yeah
if the motherboard has a heatsink on one of the sltos for the ssd (i f orgot if it does) then the sn850x they have is a rly good deal as well
I don't really use one drive...
much bvetter ssd but its cheap bc no heatsink with i t
its not worth it anyway the 900 or sn770 are more than good enough
its just to get a good tlc drive dont need anything rly fast and dram would be nice but n ot necessary
i'm using some cheap ass kioxia nvme drive (tlc + dram) in my system, really doesn't matter that much
Got it
@hazy frost I'm thinking of getting an adata legend nvme too
Is the 710 fine?
Or abit yikes
tlc but no dram
Yeah so long as it’s not cheap as shit qlc drive
Fast speeds are nice but used less often than anyone thinks
Games use 1-2k at most usually rn
Consistently
all my games are on my sata ssd anyway
The 710 is qlc
The first tier that has TLC is the 800 I think?
Oh
It’s still fine if ur on a budget it’s just not amazing
There might bc smth a bit better for a similar price tho
ssd-tester.com lied to me
Idk there’s not enough info on some of them
Pretty sure 710 is qlc bc the 800 also had qlc models iirc?
the only SSD I stay away from is the piece of shit Samsung with bad sectors even with firmware update
@hazy frost https://brightstarcomp.com/products/patriot-vp4300-lite-m-2-pcie-gen4x4-ssd-1tb-2tb?variant=43304011661359
How bout this
True id never recommend those bc even at high end they’re so expensive u might as well buy other better SSDs for less
WD or solidigm make better stuff that’s cheap
there were Samsung's on sale recently for the very reason... that they're a no-QA piece of crap
as someone with family who used to work for Samsung, they have an extremely bad hardware verification process
gestures broadly at Samsung Exynos modem with double digit 0days
Samsungs QC and warranty on every product is subpar these days tbh
yeah I ended up getting a SN850X 4TB
Waffle look at the nvme I sent ys
Uhh I can’t remember if this one uses TLC or qlc
i don't trust samsung anything
I think different models have different
yeah i'd get a sn850x if i were buying high end (or a drive for my ps5)
I got a 2TB P5 plus bc it was on sale
I have a Samsung phone but it's Snapdragon
I need to rebuild my PC sometime, might throw a 5080 in there idk
or wait for 5080S
I’d wait for used 4090s tbh
5080 is def not worth id wait for super tho
Atl wait for them to stop showing up with rops missing lmao
I like the 5080S more for the form factor than anything else
what if 5080 super is just the missing rops
True..
:)
@ancient raft what's your pc specs atm
just a reminder that supers are not a guaranteed addition
the 10s and 30s skipped them
