my car would have cost 85,000 dollars in todays world
but most cars that match it now are sub 40k
value per dollar for say, performance cars, has gotten better
I think the major issue is that people dont care enough about buying a car
they just buy something, run with it, then cry when it breaks or doesnt do what they wanted
consumer reports reflects that
I will say it how it is, Porsche and Lexus are both actually not THAT reliable
Porsche uses lots of tech that is incredibly expensive and complex that has issues and Lexus/Toyota arent as reliable as people champion
yet both always have incredibly high reliability scores. the common factor is money. both brands are up market and are usually bought by people who have a good amount of change on hand for stuff.
Nissan has bad reliability ratings not because of the CVT's, but for consumable related stuff. most of what you see is people complaining about costs associated with regular maintenance surrounding cheap econoboxes. most of these cars are actually reliable, its the buyers themselves that are not
hasnt it been like that for a while?
I dunno
quick google, its been like that for 3 ish years
Traditionally HD meant 1080p, but they wanted to cheap out on streaming so they called 720p HD bc it was DVD quality. Sorta.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT might cost $599 AMD surprises with pricing. The Radeon RX 9070 XT series will cost 4999 RMB, and RX 9070 cards will retail at 4499 RMB. These are the official prices of Radeon RX 9070 cards in China. The cards were officially presented during a special event for distributors and […]

WAT DA FEK
bc I eye'ed the 9070 and 9070 xt prices here is ~1000USD cheapest
yeah really
And when you try to meet the unreasonable KPI demands and the AI delivers garbage, you get fired for delivering bad code! yay!
NITRO+ RDNA4 graphics card uses a 16-pin power connector Not all RX 9070 cards will use standard connectors. NITRO+ RX 9070 XT, Source: Chiphell Just as rumored, the Sapphire NITRO+ based on the Radeon RX 9070 XT SKU is confirmed to have a single 16-pin power connector instead of the standard 8-pin connectors. if it is $650 usd I'll consider that good enough
why do all of these damn live streams or premieres always have a countdown for a countdown
What time are we living in where $350 less is only good enough for a card that is also probably faster in raster as well 😭
$650 for what’s expected is damn amazing with current options
probably tech burnout from nvidia fucking over the consumer market with its natural monopoly
"What's up, gamers?"
9070xt imo is actually good just in general its gonna be top of the line performance from last gen for 60% of the price which is what should be happening
I also don’t mind the extra features when AMD aren’t using it to sell a crap product like Nvidia do
hmm
hmm
600USD, so probably... 800€ then
oh god, the smearing and artifacting in the showcase lmao
best amd launch driver in history? bold claims
lets see how many blackscreens we get this time
according to them, the 9070xt is 2% slower than the 5070ti
i want to see a reference design because this example model looks pretty
whether we'll actually see the amd at 600$ is another story
with taxes and some other regional bullshittery its gonna be 800+ for us germans
he just called ratchet and clank a third person shooter
welp guess I'll be upgrading soon
It’ll probably be like £650 here
UK has similar prices to US but £ so it’s like $800 lol
But 20% vat is included ig depends on state
The ray tracing is honestly very impressive if true
Following the level of improvement last gen had
Pleasantly surprised by it if somewhat expected
People will still complain bc it’s not $500 probably
Sell my 4070ti buy one of these and have £300 extra
Unfortunately I don't believe manufacturer slides. Looking forward to reviews though
i thought the right side was the 5070ti, but no its the 100% bar at the very left
Adios
Good
Skype is forever gone but never forgotten
Felt like an upgrade
So. Opinion on the new amd cards?
seems decent
Of course, we don't have benchmarks quite yet. (I don't ever fully trust slides like this bc it's always best case scenario and cherry picked.)
But i hope this card is good
if AMD leans into raster performance over AI crap I'm down
Thank god they’re actually good
i want the sapphire card ^^
Good raster as per usual, good price, allegedly should be good availability, the RT performance is also a pretty good leap
Nothing to complain about imo
tbh i think the older nitros were prettier but the sapphire 9070xt nitro still looks good
Good options for people in North America especially
can't decide if there's a better looking 9070xt
the best part for me is the 9070xt won't cost much of an upgrade from my 3080ti ^_^
and i'll finally have a card with good linux support again :3
LOL acer also calls their 9070xt a nitro
gg
Funny that I could sell my Nvidia gpu make money and buy an upgrade in the 9070xt for raster even if the market was normal rn
lol
admittedly the nitro is probably gonna cost a lot more than 599 >>
wait WTF
In any case, this card made news a fortnight ago for the possible integration of a 12V-2×6 as a power connector. Via the ChipHell forum, we’ve learned that the brand has indeed swapped the good old 8-pin PCIe for NVIDIA’s new connector.
NOOOOOOOO
The bitcoin edit lmao
lol yeah the nitro uses that
They sell another one with regular cables
that seems a really stupid decision lol
Plus side is it doesn’t use the kind of power the 5080/90 do
It also won’t necessarily be the same design as Nvidia used
Gonna be using a 12vhpwr cable soon, only for 200Wish though
same ugly connector
Yeah but not necessarily the same internally
Also it’s 12v 2x6 which is the new one which should be fine for the power that thing will draw
It’s not the old 12vhpwr cable that would set anything on fire just by user error
ahh
With the introduction of the RTX 40-Series, the PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR GPU power connector made its debut with the promise to deliver up to 600W of power through a single connector. As with any new standard, things are likely to evolve quickly and we’re now seeing the introduction of a new connector, 12V-2x6. So what’s new with the 12V-2x6 connector? ...
I use a 12vhpwr one for my 4070ti at around 300w and it’s alright anyway
Been almost 2 years now?
That is good to know
looks good. my money is on a powercolor reaper since 2 slot and good enough specs ™️
I’d just buy whatever is closest to MSRP they all look pretty good from what I’ve seen
yea idk
For me it's what costs least
The only benefit it will have is its not an insane power hungry card so less likely to melt

oh also BIG NEWS
NEW HATSUNE MIKU AMG
GOODSMILE Racing my beloved
the Z4 GT3 era was also cool
I saw Adam Savage
AND I SAW HATSUNE MIKU
Tho Racing Miku is big tho
yea
one of the US Goodsmile racing guys lives here in Utah
US goodsmile racing is just privateers, they dont usually have miku livery
sometimes goodsmile sends over the Miku cars and races tho
there WAS a goodsmile racing Porsche in the US that had miku
Is this time Racing Miku artist is LAM?
Iirc Racing Miku is big in JP but not really in global hmmmm
the thing I like about goodsmile is the website
they list everything they run on the car on the page
so you know its on Enkei wheels with Yokohama tires
its running a hewland sequential transmission
yes she is popular in the US lol
one of the more popular miku things I see
The issue is getting into US racing
oh yea that I agree with
Goodsmile is spending like 20-50 million a year on domestic racing in Japan
US racing would be more
@real edge should i wait for rx 9070 or rtx 5060 or just get 4060
the rx 9070 might be too expensive for you
waiting for the rtx 5060 might be a good idea but ud have to wait for quite some time
ugh
Knowing the 5060 it will also catch fire
sure, if it will exist
you can wait for it
Idk tbh
I really wouldn't get a 8GB card if you can avoid it
8gb for mobile gpu is actually ok though
For internet cafe/school, 8gb is eh okey
Not rly for personal PC tho
And ESPECIALLY no for streamers
But if you want really budget, only AMD but software compatible for AMD SUCCCCCCC
PC gaming needs AMD's new GPU's to do well
it's getting better tho BUT STILL

Like ngl 600USD for a yummy card, yup that's good I may be able to import it, hope so
Btw what's the price of 5070/Ti though, in USD?
Atm it's ~1300-1600USD here, 9700 xt is ~1200USD if the cheapest card
The RX 9070 XT has a MSRP of 599 USD
Good luck getting a 5070ti anywhere near that price
Ik that price, though iirc CN only?
No, that's from their official announcement yesterday
I really don’t understand why people are still saying this
Do u think you’ll be able to play on high enough settings to use more than 8GB on the low end cards
Because the fact is u won’t
The only segment where vram is questionable is 12GB 1440p ultra ones

00:06 Intro - AMD's 25-year commitment to ...
See linked time for details
School that only need a GPU to render, display can be damned
Also internet cafe
And heck even 4gb and 6gb is good enough for those tasks as far as you don't play in max and stream at the same time
There’s like 1 game maybe where 8GB cards might struggle and you’re getting 60fps max if ur lucky on those settings
There is not going to be a 12+gb budget card bc it doesn’t make any sense
Though the resell value of AMD card is way lower than nvidia, and render engines are still thirsty for cuda
Rocm support is getting better for any hobbyists
For professionals it’s not worth it still
But it’s a lot more usable if it’s not ur source of income than it has been in the past
I’m not sure how good the 9060 will be but based on what they’ve announced already it should be more reasonable than last gen
I hope they learned from the 7600xt as well
I kid u not, 7600xt price in my place is pretty ouch
Then again, weird ass SEA price for some reason
7600xt MSRP is awful
They’re semi ok in price sometimes now but still rough
It somehow made the 4060 look ok
The 4060 is like $40-50 cheaper half the time and all the xt has is vram u don’t need
Buy used and get one of the higher end cards then u might as well
The higher your resolution and the higher quality the textures, the more VRAM you need. 8GB VRAM GPU's are already in hot water because of that
No they’re not..?
Because u can’t actually play at a high resolution with decent settings without tanking ur fps on 8GB cards
All the 8GB cards are only actually good for 1080p in which u are going to struggle to reach 8GB in general
If the 9070 was 8GB yes it would be bad
The fact the 4060 is 8GB on the other hand makes no difference to if it was 12 for its main use
yeah the 60 is now the entry-level GPU tier, 8GB seems fine for entry level 1080p gaming
xx60 has always been the entry-level
xx50 budget, xx60 entry, xx70 mid-tier, xx80 high-tier
xx90 is basically "waste your money"-tier
speaking as someone who owns a 4090
xx90 is what Titan cards were
So not actually for gamers realistically
But it’s marketed to gamers bc it makes them more money
well we just have a different definition of budget and entry lol, if you asked me during the previous generations I would have said the 50 was entry and 60 budget
entry to me is the first step
but point being that now they are one and the same anyways
Entry options are basically whatever’s cheap from last gen or used tbh
There’s never been a good entry level option new
well, kind of, I will simp for the 750 Ti and 1050 Ti
Maybe back with like the 1650 it was decent
1650 too
I forgot if the 1650 needed external power, but the 750 and 1050 didn't
so back then they were basically perfect for anyone with an older PSU or just non gaming rig
I think it’s on the limit of what the PCIe slot can provide
All of the cards releasing now except the 5070 maybe have enough vram tbh
16gb for high end 1440p cards and 8GB on the lower end budget 1080p ones, 12GB for the mid range 1440p ones is looking ok imo
pcie slot spec is 75 watts
Used are all entry card here aaaaaaaaa
Or 8gb vram slightly higher
yeah it's sort of the same here, if you don't live in a country where people constantly replace their GPUs the used market is just very very ancient low tier stuff
my previous GPU was used 1070 and I had to buy it off ebay from the US
- streaming as well
Some games since CP2077 and the monke game require quite hefty amout of vram in 1440p ultra
And that may or may not include streaming, and possibly multistream
Yeah cyberpunk is the only game I’ve played at 1440p that allocates over 10GB
With path tracing on it was like
10.5-11
The only problem is frame gen will eat vram if people are using that as a crutch to play at high frames but u shouldn’t be doing that on a new card anyway
they shouldn't be playing 1440p on entry level either
every day is car day in this channel

Yes
The viper is funny
Cause it makes 800 at the wheels
It literally cannot get traction at anything more than half throttle until 3rd gear
So it does a burn out to 100mph
@potent arrow
The 911 needs 2 quarts of oil lmao
Shit burns

I forgot my gloves
I haven’t updated my drivers in months..
I do it if I'm about to play a new game, since they tend to include some game specific fixes
ff16 ran slightly less shit with its proper driver
i am thinking about selling my 3080ti and getting a 9070xt
would've been better if he winked
big upgrade in everything tbf its worth it
should be better RT, better raster, more vram

Holy s praise AMD for revealing price
Vendor in my place redux 9000 cards price from >1000$ to under
actually ~800-900$ for actual price, which is fine, given tax and whatnot
Now I have a dilemma: ASRock or Sapphire?
And I have plan to vtubing, is it ok for vtube?
Hmm nvidia driver apparently causes lot of issues
Wanted to update cause of mhwilds but i'll wait i guess
I can believe it. there's a hotfix driver today for black screens on 5000 series but it's kinda jank tier in general
the sapphire nitro is using a 12v 6x2 connector (aka the 'fixed' 12vhpwr connector)
word on the street is to wait and see whether there's load balancing on the power pins, or not
Price here is a bit ouch BUT still under 1000USD tho
ASRock is 860USD, Sapphire is 980USD lol
The Pure still has the standard 2x8 though, only the Nitro has the 'hidden' fixed 12v 6x2

Just wait anyway
Scalper gonna scalp, better wait
lol just get the asrock one then
Easy choice there
$120 usd extra for nothing valuable
Asrock has all 3 of their models retailing at msrp or as close to it as possible
In the US that’s $600
If yer gonna do that, keep an eye on the 40 and 30 markets as well just in case, I don't expect them to correct the issue of the xx60 being too underpowered for its price
Aye aye
Funni is ASRock has 2 flavors of 9070 and 9070xt
9070 has Challenger (cheapest) and Steel Legend
9070xt has Steel Legend and Taichi (more expensib)
Still, Gigabyte price holding is ~900$ for 9070, ~1400 for 9070xt, no price for Asus
Ye ik, I just see funni prices
Sapphire is only a wee bit more expensive, not that bad, only +100$ max
why is there a fire extinguisher
wdym why. its an important accessory for nvidia cards

idk if its a sad day
sad because they're still selling the same Z car they did when the gt-r came out
sooo which chinese company is gonna buy nissan? XD
or maybe it'll be an indian company 😮
mahrinda or tata?
you need a 40,000 dollar aftermarket kit to make the 400Z a top dog sports car
tata buying nissan kinda feels about right
so you have to push it to 100k to make it top notch
get that tata sentra lol
it would get good lmao
Jaguar got good post Tata
which is amusing
there's like a constant ongoing 'who would buy chrysler if stellantis sold them' thread on allpar
and people always think geely
Jaguar got the treatment any failing company needs, make things exciting, not what makes sense
i think mahrinda would, if jeep were included
they just make that one van
i mean
but so are all minivans
no mid engine supercharged minivans anymore 😔
Toyota took that away from us
minivans excel at carrying people and things
really my only hangup with them is the fwd transaxle tends to not be very robust
whar
and i think chrysler trying to half ass their hybrid drivetrains ruined them for a lot of people
transaxles are the go to now
the pacifica and odyssey both have a lot of complaints about transmissions lol
and have been
CVT's
they do not use cvts
yep
i think it's because you combine 300hp with a very heavy vehicle
steel belt CVT's have a much higher tolerance for no maintenance but failures are catastrophic
and minivans are way more likely to get overloaded
also sometimes the car manufacturers really skimp out on payload capacity
just changing the transmission fluid every other oil change
thats it
Minivans tend to not be that crazy for weight
hmm here we go
the heaviest Odyssey weighs as much as a 5 series
the pacifica has a gvwr of 6055lbs and a curb weight of 4521lbs
7 200lb people is going to leave you barely any weight for luggage
then you need an actual van
and my guess is a minivan's worth of people is going to have at least 1 or 2 people who weigh over 300lbs
minivans have never been the super full type
I have never seen a full size van being used as a private passenger van
airport shuttles, after school shuttles, karate class vans
I have
well yea, you live in utah
Metris
i imagine that's like the 2nd most common family vehicle in utah /s 😉
not counting what we consider an actual full size van
the Metris is a weird inbetween
Metris is a commercial vehicle turned into a buyable commuter
rather than commuter into commercial
that
which is why its weird
i feel like that's drinking a LOT of german car fanboy koolaid
no
idk I've never heard a good thing about the metris lol
cause nobody buys them
😭
its funny tho
im fairly certain the Metris is larger than the Transit Connect or the Dodge ProMaster City
SURE
thats kinda what I mean
idk if we have a size class name for them
its... odd
but i'd call the transit connect and promaster city 'microvans'
apparently they sell ok in Europe
but also its one of the few options
UK its a battle of Sprinters and Transits
the thing that blows my mind
cause Sprinters and Transits both have cab only roller options so companies can fit them specially
is that the transit connect was launched, seemed to sell like hotcakes among a certain crowd
and then was unceremoniously axed and nobody seemed to care
i'd say the same in the US, but then we have the chevy express
Express is on an existing truck frame
and of course the ram promaster
its a 2500 isnt it?
which I assume businesses who hate their drivers buy
the reason the transit is around is cause the transit is just on whatever the 250/350 is of the time
also its load floor isnt that low
yea i see that
considering I be driving a few of them occasionally
LOL
what is this
there's an amazon delivery contractor that uses promasters out here
i think it's funny because some of them don't even have yellow cleraance lights lmao
i don't know
I think Rapid is like Mexico only
probably
cause the Transit can come in 4x4 factory
which wasnt a thing for a long time
there are whole companies whos entire business was converting Transits to 4x4
cause the Transit was the go to for the van lifers because it was a lot cheaper than equivalent Sprinters
i assume they introduced 4x4 when they killed the e series van
so if u see anybody talking about doing van life cause of economy, just look at how much a built sprinter costs...
that shit is over 200k...
Winnebago Transit is 300k
oh the Winnebago one is cheaper now!
I can't find any evidence that gm still makes a 4wd express van
from 2003-2014 they sold awd
why even buy something like this when an old Motorhome is sub 100k for a nice ass one
even smaller ones would be way more value than a fucking Transit floor plan
I figured cause I see Express vans overlanding
there are companies that do conversions
tbh some of these lol
i don't recall ever seeing one of these
and I have seen a lwb vanagon before
Westfalia!
believe those ones specifically would be import only
we have two in salt lake
both owned by Integrated Engineering, the VW/Audi tuning company
they make crazy parts, my old shop foreman just bought an anti lag kit for his Audi S4 from them
oh huh
they sold them in the US
just not after 2003
apparently a lot of them are grey market because troops in germany would order them for Tourist delivery in germany, and then VW would ship them back to the US for free
Tourist Delivery is like the Porsche/BMW Germany delivery where you pick up the car there and they take you around places with the car and then pack it up and send it over seas
also perhaps the vanagon i saw wasn't factory lmao
someone in town has a vanagon with 2 middle sections
i've never stopped to get a good look at it
but it looks like that except no camper shell
that camper shell is hilarious
it looks like a volkswagen golf
kyanche
Porsche powered T2 Van
factory, only 10 made
3.2 liter carrera engine
also the Claer CT3, but Claer was not OEM
apparently the B32's, thats what the Porsche built ones are called, go for half a million
they were built on the highest trim Type 2 Van
@sly elk also in other strange news, Carvana didn’t go bankrupt but also they’ve purchased a MOPAR franchise license
Which sounds odd
Imagine buying a jeep and it being delivered to your front door
that was kinda how it worked when i bought the 300 but that was from a dealer that was cool with it lol
having carvana delivery would be way nicer
in my case they had a car shipper dude they recommended and his price was good, but they made me call him myself
that was fantastically sketchy 😄
no paperwork or payment at all until the truck driver delivered the car
but also atm what would I even buy from them
car transporters are a bit wonky
they don't have charger sedans yet, they're not making 300s anymore, and while I like the wrangler I'm not entirely sold on the grand cherokee and their other suvs are not my speed at all
yea it was still a neat experience
either contract up front or payment upfront
the dude took like EIGHTY pictures of my car when he picked it up
yea lmao
and preferred cash payment lol
ok thats a bit sketchy
no taxes 💀
did you see the Lamborghini Diablo that fell off the second leve lift of that one transporter a few months ago
that transporter had transporter insurance thankfully but most of them dont, which is why they do all these leaps to avoid a digital or physical paper trail
cause the insurance is incredibly expensive, but if you do exotics that shouldnt be such a big deal...
is onedrive supposed to take a fuckin year to log in
like, you gave me a terabyte of storage, don’t shit yourself just because i uploaded 20 gigs
icloud does that too -_-
icloud is the worst when you're like "hey I made a lot of changes, push them NOW"
apple doesn't give you a way anymore to force sync
onedrive makes it easy to pull but not to push
i think dropbox was better at that sort of thing but dropbox also cost more
a lot more geez

We all hate dealer markups on new cars. But whether or not you bought one at the peak of price gouging in 2021-22, those insane markups are still screwing up people's finances, the economy, and the car market today.
Four years after massive supply chain disruptions tightened the market and prompted dealers to start marking up literally every mo...
People trying to trade in price bubble cars they paid way over sticker for now finding out it’s harder than ever to sell cars so dealers won’t take their cars as trade in
Did that beef keep going after LMG went back to normal operations?
Yeah the Steve stuff started out of nowhere with him suddenly attacking Linus
Well
Not out of nowhere
During the LTT labs initial launch, one of the benchmark guys made a joke about having actually real benchmarks and data which, at the time, LTT benchmarks were all fucking over the place with some benchmarks that were so bad they didn’t make sense mathematically
And the only other big YouTube channel (and I mean big, lots of good smaller bench mark channels) was GN
Yea it’s older drama
But it’s where it really blew up
I just think it’s funny cause right before the whole big start of this all, LTT put out a benchmark for an air cooler that was impossible
It was the Noctua cooler I think?
Out performing lots of coolers it definitely could not
https://wccftech.com/nvidia-latest-driver-update-is-apparently-unable-to-resolve-black-screen-issues-for-many-users/ rip nvidia made things worse with the new drivers and are now crashing users trying to do fake frames
you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the AMD
lol
because this has to be repeated since it's just
"It's okay, Intel, you go when you feel like it"
I mean at least Intel has a blank slate
And they actually are good at designing shit, RIP fab cross contamination
one of the intel electricial engineers had a great writeup of nvidia's power melting situation, so i think they have good ppl working for them too
idk if I'd call intel a blank slate since they have been on the integrated graphics market since forever, and they never did too hot there
just keeping it barely above passable
arent some of their discrete cards decent for low-end builds?
they have good raster performance, just not so good drivers
ahh
it's ok for a choice in the budget card space. the known issues section (in intel's arc gpu drivers) feels like it's not changed since arc add on cards have existed
i feel like all the talk about intel/amd drivers is overblown considering nvidia... this isn't even new. every now and then nvidia screws up their drivers royally
well I see this in a "percentage of people affected by issues" way, no GPU has perfect bug free drivers, but generally Nvidia drivers tend to be more stable
AMD drivers are rocky during a new gen launch but stabilize over time
and Intel never gave a crap about their HD drivers so now they have to begin caring for Arc
I still contest this
my experience with my 3080ti has been awful
both in linux and in windows
I fully believe you, but also I don't believe that many people are affected (on Windows)
that said, I guess I can't entirely blame it on drivers because the behavior is a little bit on the consistent side here
in short my gpu and my monitor don't get along well
doesn't matter if I'm using hdmi or displayport
and Nvidia is nonexistent
if the screen goes to sleep, on linux I have to power cycle it, on windows even if I power cycle it I have to wait like 30 seconds for the screen to 'wake' and then 'sleep' and then it'll wake itself again
but windows has way more issues with the screen just going black randomly
never had all those issues with any of my other computers on that screen
that's honestly pretty weird
idk even before the 3080ti I had a 3070, a 1070ti, and a 1070 (and with different monitors) and those all had some kinda stupid issue or another
tbh the asus 1070 was the worst lol
at least once a week i'd be playing a game and the drivers would just crash out and kill the game and dump me back at the desktop
the 1070ti was a zotac and somehow worked with no issues ever, but the fans didn't go to 0% ever even though it advertised they could, and something about the video output never looked right
it always looked kinda weird
the 3070 was a gigabyte, iirc i got stuck with a bad nvidia drivers on it at some point and had to downgrade, and then it was fine
the 3080ti was made by evga, so I assume some of the issues are just that it was made by evga
I didn't do as many jumps but I went 750 Ti for some years -> (used) zotac 1070 that lasted me 6 years, idk how old it was before I bought it but physically it looked like it had some mileage lol -> now 4070 Ti, never ever had driver issues or crashes
yea nvidia support for linux sucks
it's bad enough on fedora that I gave up using it for the moment
the 1070 is still alive too, just gotta replace one fan
because every single time I got an update i had to fuck with the driver
when the 9070xt goes on sale I might buy one and dump this on ebay
no EVGA slander here, I'll die on the hill that they were the best brand and Nvidia is worse for losing them
friend bought an EVGA 3080 at launch, and still now years later they are honoring the RMA over him thinking the card is a little bit noisier
which is just him being nitpicky
they had the absoutely best support
you should try contacting them and see if they allow RMA
they still have a few 3080s left for RMA purposes
the worst thing about them dying is that they warned us of all of this shit
and now we don't have a fill for them
@kind rune check out that video above, i laughed so hard i cried
Hahaha.... sigh technology.
We've had this powershell issue dogging us at work for like an entire year and did a ton of troubleshooting and couldn't figure it out.
There was one script that always worked, and one script that only worked every once in a blue moon.
We previously had issues with Splunk's "secure" linting not letting a script run because I used the alias "where" instead of the true command name "Where-Object"
Well I noticed the one script that always worked didn't use Select-Object, it just used the full output from the cmdlet.
So today I decided to try removing the Select-Object pipe from the spotty script and... works every time now.

it's frustrating af they can't just do smog checks the old fashioned way with the tailpipe sniffer lol
Is your car old enough it needs the EGR valve replaced already?
no no it's a new car lol
that's the thing, when you buy a car out of state it has to have a smog check to qualify for registration
but the smog check relies on the car's computer saying stuff checks out
but it.. takes some amount of time before it tests everything lol
Darn you, California Emissions! /s
sadly yes!
I kinda cheated on that by continuing to renew my WI plates
yea the state i bought my car from doesn't believe in temp plates just a small piece of paper in the back window
which I think is hilarious because california was that way until recently
I'm sure my car would have passed since I kept it in good repair and it wasn't that old, but I didn't want to bother with it when I was only going to be around 2-3 years. And at the end of the day I got CA plates when I bought the Stinger anyways.
so it was a bit of a joke that people here would just never get plates
the ole' altima with the faded dealer ad plates lmao
My roommate and I had a running joke about ppl driving cars with the older plates bc it usually meant they were bad drivers
So whenever we saw someone driving like an idiot we'd look to see if the plate started with a 4 or 5 and be like "Fucking Fours..."
lol
(It only became a running joke because something like 80% of the people whose driving was so bad it made us notice... did have 4/5 plates lol)

who's waiting to see if it shits itself
I am! I am!
it's probably gonna shit itself
It's gonna shit out an AI-upscaled brick
this is the worst gen in my career
loooool yeah
Tfw the 1000 ones and 3000 are actually nice
The 3000 was neat tho, plenty of stock
2000 was gimmick, same to 4000
30 series would've been amazing... if not for the three years of plague
10 series had some legendary cards 1070/1080/1080ti
30 series had the 3060ti and 3080
40 series had 4090 and 4080
also crypto bros
Ew crypto bros
20 series had nothing of note it was just....there
Like the only thing I could think abt crypto is possibly using it to pay for VPN sub
Raytrace, but it was weird
1080ti and 3060ti will probably haunt me till I die
i wouldnt count the 3080, given that it is and was held back by its limited vram
not sure the exact reason why, but they were the best for price in Canada at the time
so I sold like... a fuck load
damn
my 980 lasted me just as long as my 1080ti
Really goat for entry-ish card
(just let's ignore the unlaunched 4080)
that was the wildest launch -> unlaunch period
yeahhhhh
yeah...
or the fact that the 4080 super is basically a cheaper 4080....?
I think the supers are what solidified the 40 series, and how they should have launched IMO
If there's one person I can kill
it's the guy who added super cards
everything just feels skewed now
didn't we also just get another suffix
rtx 5090E
or something
5090D
5090Downgrade
The 12GB one isn’t held back
The 10GB one was
They almost released the 12GB 4080 as well lol
China getting the worse options for once
the 12gb one is the 3080ti
They had the 4090D too
oh wait they actually released a 12gb normal 3080? wow nvidia
No there’s a 12GB 3080
not like 12gb are enough either anyway+
12 is enough for that gpu tho
Ur not gonna be able to run games well enough to need more
The limitation is how fast the 3080 actually is before vram limitations outside of AI
Tho the 4000 also had the refreshed 1000 ala 1600 (like 1650 1660)
1600 was cool
I won a lottery ticket w the 1660 OC, undervolted and hella fast
I have many gripes about the 4070ti but how stable 40 series cards are with OC is pretty impressive still
I’ve got +300 core and +1600 memory working atm lol

This review of the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Founders Edition video card benchmarks performance vs. the RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 4070, RX 7900 XT, 7900 GRE, and prepares for comparisons against AMD's RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs. The AMD RDNA 4 RX 9070 series cards launch tomorrow at $600 and ...
as a 1080p enjoyer I don't even have to bother with OC or undervolt
SFF needs undervolt tho
We know the specs of the AMD 9070 yes?
Yes
YOOOOOOO GN BURNS
THE BURN (SAVAGE)
Should I plan a build right now?
HKD or TWD?
HK
Not yet from what I can tell
Except the GPU the rest are good
Bc gotta wait tmr review
And 600USD (I forget how much in RMD) for 9070 is NUTZ
HOLY-
econony...
That GPU of yours is quite decent for the price
FOR NOW
Can wait for review tmr and see if the price may drop deeper or nawn lol
Well defo ye
Ayy LTT review has self host AI benchmark and some productivity benchmark
The selfhost LLM AI is decent, Davinci Resolve is neat
but not that better than 4070ti lmao
The difference between 4070ti/s in certain things with the 5070 is crazy
it's literally the same
Like yeah slower in gaming sure whatever but laughable how little it improves anywhere else
It uses like
30w less I guess?
Eh ye prob?
That's bad
I mean margin of error but COME ON
It shouldn’t even be close like that
The 5090 is the only thing that actually offers big improvements over last gen and it costs u half ur organs
The Ti maybe worth itTM
Ehh depends what happens to the 4070ti super
And the 9070xt is just so much better in value unless it somehow loses like 30% of its performance tmrw vs leaked figures
Gotta wait for tmr review
AMDs claimed figures match what was leaked anyway
Ngl I'm hype for the 9070
So it’s pretty solid but tmrw will be the proof
Slightly slower RT than 5070ti maybe but for $150 less I wouldn’t care at all
Ignoring the fact it’s more like $300 less bc of 50 series stock
I kid u not it ain't $150 here
It's like a whole $300 diff in SEA
It’s 300 everywhere rn
5070ti is like £1000 here at least if u can get one and 9070xt will come out at £600
It’s always just US msrp straight into our currency lol
Part of me is happy my gpu is clearly gonna last another year minimum
Another part is depressed by the state of the options everyone has
Actually some RX 7000 cards are p cheapo in my place, let see if 9070 has some good perf increase
Do u want a GPU with 3 SATA port
9070xt will probably be slower in raster than the xtx on release by a bit but faster in RT and then end up equal or even faster with drivers as per usual
still linux wet dream lol
Nvidia and Linux aren’t allowed to go together anymore

The latest release in the Nvidia RTX 50-series Blackwell offers the best balance of price vs performance, but to be clear - pre-launch hype should be tempered. It's doesn't deliver RTX 4090 performance - think of it more as a price-cut RTX 4070 Super with DLSS 4 multi frame-gen support.
Note: 4x MFG latency with DLSS 4 in Alan Wake 2 is 146ms,...
lol
Seems 5070 got The Burn (Savage) treatment
I mean
My laptop is an rx6600s lol
It’s not doing anything
I found except the AI fad, 4000 is better
AND EVEN WITH AI FAD, 4000 IS STILL BETTER
Yup
SOMEHOW
40 series wasn’t that bad but AMD didn’t have anything as competitive as what the 9000 cards should be
The 7000 was ok but prob a bit too late to the game?
I'm not that well verse on AMD if GPU tho
7000 launch prices almost all sucked
Unless OEM
Not just has stock but a lot
That's why I'm looking at 9000 if the perf is good
Bc that price is already looking good compared to 5000
If they release the 32gb card id buy that
I’m not out of vram on 12GB but if I’m gonna buy a new one it’s not gonna be just to go to 16gb
Oh DEFO
Since I also do some self host AI, more vram = yes yes YES Y E S
and Ollama on linux is neat btw
I don’t need more than 12 I’d like to upgrade for more performance but the options are still only 16gb ones so it’s like
Eh
It’s fine but if I’m gonna spend more money it feels stupid
@golden stream am4 or am5
Budget?
The cheapest am5 I can get is an R5 7500F
I swear you’ve been recommended stuff like 10 times by everyone
Bc my rig is AM4 and I ain't upgrade to AM5

Ngl
I'm alr happy w my current DDR4 setup (both PC and laptop), DDR5 atm with current set is a bit dumdum
Nah this video sucks I watched it when it came out
They couldve done a way more comparable build new but they just didn’t bc they chose bad parts
Idk why
Maybe to exaggerate how good old parts value is for the sake of the video concept
It sucks ngl but still, SEA price sucks
At least for older DDR4 it has sale/clearance so it's more affordable-ish
They chose overly expensive new parts for.. no reason
Like why are they using a 9600x that’s like atl $50 u could save getting a 7600 right there alone
Well ngl that
They could’ve used that money to get ram that didn’t suck
Which would’ve removed that point from the comparison
And the old pc has a b550 but the new one they buy an x870???
Like
Clearly rigged video and bad advice imo
These kind of things is why I’m not a fan of LTT recently
Linus's tech tip
They’ve gone too far to try and cater to video ideas and embellish the reality for entertainment that it’s bad advice for people who are trying to learn
Problem being the alternative is GN who makes videos worse than watching paint dry
Likely they just grab whatever in stock and shoot
Yeah it’s just a poor effort for a channel that claims to be trying to go towards the more serious reviews and educational channel
Kinda watch for fun though
Yeah I only have an issue when they try and frame it as advice for people like that video when it’s just not true
LTT is for entertainment and possibly screwdriver or backpack
They need to decide what they want to focus on for the main channel imo
They want to do proper reviews and be a channel people go to for advice but they keep sensationalising for views
I only rly watch hardware unboxed or GN for more specific topics in detail
a screwdriver-shaped backpack
Their original backpacks were pretty bad quality anyway for the money
Apparently the new ones are actually pretty good tho
I may get the new one, not really need the huge old one
this makes me laugh

if I spend 1500 ill get a whole....6fps on average more and 4070super owners will get....1fps more
what a deal
nvidia is smoking something if they think ppl will buy these shit cards
i'm sure they'll sell out and people will have buyers remorse when their games will run like garbage
and then they come out with the 40 series classic
this is lack of vram right?
if I had to guess, yeah
that is one hell of a mess lol
the game tho bc why is the 4070 super below the 7800xt
amd gpus were using more vram in most games
man this new Corsair RM850x keeps a lot of hot air trapped in the unit. the fan is designed to kick on at 50c (or a certain level of load, which i'm probably not even gonna hit during normal usage) so i'm like hmm. could manual override the fan but I guess it is okay to be a little warm if that is the design
never really thought about it on my old EVGA PSU
I mean it’s normal and not hurting anything
just funny having a ton of hot air waft out if i do manually override, but yeah you're right

When does the reviewer embargo for the 9070 lift
Or have the reviewers even gotten the cards
I mean if these cards are at the performance they claim for the price point and have the supply to back them, it’s not terrible
9070XT at 5070ti performance for 150 bucks less
do we want 5070 ti performance levels?
fair, looks like the Ti was a lot better received than the regular 5070
I wish they were still only doing videos that are like watching paint dry. Their entire problem is Steve having a savior complex now and half their content is smug holier than thou exposes
as annoying as he is its still like the only channel doing videos as in depth as they do
Which is why I watch the dry benchmark videos and ignore all the rest of his BS
i prefer to read what they publish but sometimes i can sit through whatever steve is saying
$400ish rn tho bc 9070xt actually has stock and 5070ti doesnt lol
Lmao yea
9070 has m ore stock than all of the 50 series
ray tracing caught up fsr basically caught up price lower
only rly missing out on DLAA and RR now
the new transformer model is definitely the best for upscaling on dlss but like not every game even uses it yet
riiidge racer
first thing in the morning when the cards drop at 9am est
or rather the 5070's drop, sorry - 5070 release and 9070/9070xt review embargo lifts, with 9070/9070xt releases on thursday at 9a

Not necessary
Could be just the DAC of the motherboard
Do you have a friend who has a standalone DAC? Can borrow for testing
also just a reminder that this is the cheapest DAC that can nearly match all the expensive ones for the low cost of $9 https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MW2Q3AM/A/usb-c-to-35-mm-headphone-jack-adapter
the only time I'm gonna shill that garbage company
I'M NOT GONNA SHILL THAT SHIET
It's designed to break
A decent Fiio would be better
But ngl for phone, that smol dongle is already good, the phone's DAC is already decent
In the longerTM run, multiple Apple dongles will cost more than a decent ok durable one
I have firsthand experience of how terrible the durability of apple chargers/cables can be, but surprisingly my dongle has survived fine so far
Since 2021
I just never really move it
Do u think a usb sound card will fix this? I'm planning on buying a new pc in a few months so I don't want to spend much on fixing this one
I still dunno how a usb sound card works
^ that dongle
It should work tho
Or if u want something more concreate, check the audiophile peep, their DAC/AMP may have USB port aka Moondrop Dawn Pro
Man it’s crazy to think that the Porsche Cayenne might be the best depreciated car to buy at this point
Top tier luxury and performance SUV for 40k
And the hybrid ones which come with cool color schemes are also cheaper now
Love me the acid green calipers
@sly elk
Just like how these look in the silver with acid green brakes
The 911 918 edition and Cayenne were the first cars to have em besides the 918 Spyder
And the 911 918 edition could only be ordered if you BOUGHT a 918 and it was an OPTION
You got a whole car as an option
Also it’s goofy looking at old 911’s
They sit so high compared to the newer cars
Back when they were more usable
I’m fucking crying it’s literally the same card
apparently Sapphire alone has more stock of 9070 XTs than the entire 50 series
they wrecked themselves
hopefully AMD can help out
