I don’t think we have an equivalent here to those lol
Range rovers are kind of the same in some aspects but they’re just slow
Demon is the only thing that can hang with a 911 Turbo S
on the street they are about the same in terms of quarter, on prepped surface Demon eats the Porsche
What’s the actual 0-60 on the turbo S, the claimed one is slower than it actually is on basically all of the 911s
Turbo S is 2.2-2.1
Turbo S lightweight is 1.9
which they dont make the lightweight anymore
the Demon is 1.6 0-60 if you get traction
so more like 2 seconds
Half the people who end up with one in a few years will get in accidents driving these
1000hp just to the rear wheels is a bit hard to put down lol
ive never seen a demon in the wild
ive only seen two, both were in collections
ive seen more first gen vipers than demons lmao
I think my friend saw one in LA at a meet somewhere with other supercars and stuff
I’ve not seen one here obviously
and the first gen viper is a much more crash prone car ngl
no abs, no traction control
lightweight, immediate torque
People tend to not buy those if they can’t drive
nah here grandmas be driving vipers n shit
I see grandmas in MC20's
there is an old lady here that has an Enzo, saw her driving it one day
The demon and related is like a status symbol atp that like almost everyone wants compared to the viper
which is nuts cause the Enzo is a work out to drive, the single clutch it has is super sporty and HAS to be driven like a manual, have to constantly watch your revs and adjust
Rn it’s hard to get one but when there’s like used turbo S being sold in a few years the owners are probably gonna be people who shouldn’t be driving it
I mean has to be driven like a manual doesn’t sound bad to most people outside the US lol
Vipers are going for insane money
Second gen Vipers in originally shelby style paint go for like 200k+
I just think the viper is a more niche car that attracts a higher percentage of people who actually can drive
with the double stripe down the car
E30 evo or second gen viper lol
Honestly insane those two cars go for remotely similar prices
last gen Viper ACR, that lowest sale is a UK import extreme aero package ACR, with the super rare targa top conversion which only 10 cars have?
sold for 100k USD which is nuts, here those are in the 300k+ range
There are cars that cost a stupid amount here instead tho
Unfortunately none of the ones I want are cheap here lol
Yeah my dad had 3 and sold all of them for like 30% of their value now lmao
I saw a cossy sell for like 60-70k less here, ig some guy had one imported for racing, left it in a barn, and someone picked it up for like 40k
Won’t shut up about it
I’ve noticed there seem to be more shitboxes in the US as well tho so if u wanna cheap out u can
Finding a terrible car for cheap is actually weirdly hard here sometimes
porsches i see all the time, especially macans lol
i see the lamborghini suvs often enough too
there is an old guy here with a second gen GTS targa
its yellow on chrome wheels
same yellow that the viper truck came in lol
People here mostly have Ferraris and mclarens
lambos cars a little less often, but i still see them from time to time
VIPER TRUCK
yea I see mclarens SOMETIMES
Ferrari looks impressive and some don’t cost much rly
for a while they were more common
UK Ferrari prices are like
But u can buy them cheap
i was gonna say
they aren't cheap here
the only reason I see ferraris all the time is there's a ferrari dealer a few blocks from my house
iirc, outside of Italy and France, UK was one of the first countries to get a ferrari dealer
(and no, nobody in my neighborhood is buying one from there)
Yeah they’re pretty cheap for what they are here and it still comes off as a flex bc it’s still a Ferrari
its like that one aston martin dealer
Even if u paid pennies for it
McLarens will all be gone in 10 years when they rust anyway
HWM Aston Martin in Walton-on-Thames
oldest Aston dealer
I follow their insta, they got cool shit all the time
you know what
I think mclarens lose almost as much value when reselling as Maseratis now
usually when i see astons i'm in orange county lmao
i do see them but never really around my house
the P1 was produced less than the 918 or La Ferrari but is way cheaper than either now
Yeah I live near that
HWM has a fly out aston tech lmao
guy goes to new zealand sometimes
which is wild
maserati is the nissan altima for rich people
I can’t think of a McLaren I’d wanna buy even if cheap
Tbh
the 3 seaters
The F1 is cool but it’s the only one that hasn’t tanked in value obviously
Still like so much stuff u could buy instead that’s cooler
but hey it makes 0.05% more performance so gotta have it
They’re in the millions
Could buy several nice cars for that price
I think spending more than 6 figures on a car in general is just insane bc having that much money in the first place is crazy
whats crazy is
The only one I think is cool for that price is the CCX
the Speedtail was more of a successor to the F1 than the P1 was
Yeah
cause the P1 and now W1 are supposed to be "successors"
but they missed the entire point of the F1
Well it resembles the F1 GT more as well
when Gordon Murray wrote the engineering goal document for the F1, nothing was set in stone. every spec was "as much available"
so when they went to decide on the engine, the only thing they had as a requirement was weight, width/length/height
they didnt care about power
it just happened that BMW could make the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 in the world and also make it reliable enough for a street car
I think the speedtail still is just meh it has no legacy itself and it costs a whole lot of money still
yea 😔
Also the V8 is boring
F1 V12 was something pretty definitive in how it sounded as well
I like how it looks WAY more than the other McLarens
The speedtail just feels sterile
something about just a long car is cool
Well they do the long tail ones usually
I like the new 765
thats true
the least interesting hybrid setup also
With the other motor
The Porsche 935 is a cool long car
the electric motor was optimized for torque tho iirc, nearly 1000hp in the La Ferrari and like 600ft lbs of torque, almost all of it was available below 3000rpm
and it was RWD only
I think the laferrari is incredibly ugly still
I prefer it to the 918 and P1
It wanted to be what the fxx k is and failed
after he stepped down as president is when they immedietly went to work on the Purosangue and all the 500 limited edition ferrari's that are identical to the normal car but have 200k slapped on
Luca was driving an old Ferrari in the 80's when a golf GTI shit on him on some backroads
As it should be
and so he went to Enzo and went "you better fucking vouch for me so I can be in charge of road cars or im going to be mad"
and then all the best Ferrari's happened
I like how jerked off the 458 Speciale is but also it doesnt help that every car company uses it to bench mark their new sports cars
Ford and Chevrolet both OWN a 458 Speciale to test
I don’t see the appeal in owning any Ferrari still
its in their corporate fleets
I think that
certain Ferrari models are worth the money absolutely
The only one I grew up seeing that’s got some nostalgia value is the 512TR lol
the 458 stands as one of the best modern sports cars period, because it has none of the excessive assist technology and a DCT, an insane V8 thats loud as fuck and its mid engine with good weight balance
stock the 458 is absurdly loud, and then you stick a straight pipe inconel exhaust on it and it sounds like you're head is inside the barrel of a howitzer
I just would find it boring to buy a car that comes like that and it’s not rly special in any way still
Dumping 6 figures on building something stupid is more appealing
its not special because of any specific thing, its special because its such a complete and almost perfect car from the factory, which Ferrari seemingly cant do anymore
488 is the only one I’ve briefly driven tho lol
the 488 did for a while, but now its back above MSRP
the only ferrari ive actually driven was a 308 GTB
which was cool
Paying above msrp for that thing is insane
Old Ferrari v8s did sound good
yea dog leg
I think all gearboxes should be dogleg
It is genuinely more convenient even to daily drive
Then again I don’t ever get stuck in traffic but at that point get an auto
yea
Like I’m going between 2nd and 3rd way more than back to 1st on any given day lol
There’s not many ‘regular cars’ with a dogleg one tho
me when I hear a lancer
me when it drives pasts and the exhaust farts cause its an automatic and it sounds so awful because of it
There’s a Vauxhall and a Mercedes and that’s the only 2 I know of
Which one
all of them
they are all straight piped and they are always an automatic
its like the WRX lmao
lol
they're always automatic here and always straight piped and they sound so ass
cause it goes RRRRRRRRRRRRR fart RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR fart
did they ever sell automatic EVO's?
there’s more straight piped STis than lancers here anyway
I think the X had one
I don’t think any others did
yea that would make sense
lol
same with the last gen STi
They’re really cheap here tho I think
STi when it gained like 800lbs and didnt gain ANY power
I saw an evo 6 for 7500 and still waiting to get one of those lol
I always wanted one didn’t expect them to stay a normal price
The tommi makinen one keeps going up in value tho
I haven’t seen a jag at all in a while lmao
the old jags are crazy here
I hate the XJ anyway
They’re so ugly
a lot of them are still like 1 or 2 owner
so you can get them for 5k USD fully maintained with sub 100k miles and 1 owner
and at that point they've basically been fully refreshed
U can get them for stupid cheap here but who knows how well taken care of they are
U can buy them for like £1200 lol
But they’re not the best example of such a car
I think these look good as like. the last hold out of old styling british cars
Sub 100k miles is like 2-3k for a not terrible one
the XJ8L specifically looks a little better cause of the extended wheelbase
U could also buy a DB7 for the same price as a really nice XJ8
proper full sedan
that is very true
DB7's cheap cheap here
manual ones are not cheap at all tho here
They’re not super cheap but they’re not unreasonable here
Like 15k bc there’s not rly many bad examples being sold
if you find a good low mileage well maintained manual DB7 it doesnt make sense to buy unless you just really want that weird interim aston that uses ford parts
or you are an aston enthusiast
i saw one that had 15k miles lol
regular maintenance also
one owner
had a full engine out service even to replace all the plastic bits
I think the people who owned them here drive them too much to find one like that
iirc it was like 40k?
They weren’t rly collectors cars
People just daily drive them
Thinking about the fuel cost of the v8s people daily hurts me
Can’t imagine paying like £100 to do 200 miles lol
I get 35-45 depending on how I drive
£70 will do 400 miles of driving if I’m sensible lol
Worlds cheapest road tax and fuel worlds most expensive insurance bc it’s still considered a hot hatch somehow
Some people have the 1.2 running 200hp and still get 38mpg anyway
I wish the E46 was easier to work on
lol
half of the stuff is engine out
I’ve worked on a 36 but not the 46
or front end off
It wasn’t that bad
yea the E36 is peak
Idk how much worse it is
cause they have the not M engine
We got the M engine
its funny that the US engine made the same torque as the full fat M engine
so the US cars are only .1 seconds slower to 60?
its fucking crazy here how expensive the E36 has gotten
It was easier to work on than my car
E36 M3 costs as much as an E46
and I want an E36 more cause the E36 is more reliable plus the parts are disgustingly cheap
I rly dislike how the 46 looks and it has nothing else redeeming it over the 36 for me
can do cams, exhaust, tune for like 1000 bucks
cams on the S54 are 1000 dollars alone
Easier to work on still good engine can still make good power
Looks better
The interior is honestly not great on either
On a normal example of one
They just aged
E46 Comp coupe I think looks better than an E36 but normally they are about the same for me
E36 M3 cabrio with a big wing on the back goes hard
Soft top in the UK from 30 years ago what could go wrong
bring a bucket so you can dump the water
Every single one I’ve seen looks mouldy lmao
my top doesnt seal perfectly but no convertible does unless its a hard top
and even then they dont always
I don’t think I could ever buy a soft top with the weather here
Unfortunately
They’re cool but yeah
Unless it’s kept in a garage 3/4 of the year
https://youtu.be/2hr4AyiaFhY?si=kLYC77kPpBA9Ox9 holy moly new Sreten video
The mission of this episode is to make more power on the N/A M54B30 inline six-cylinder engine. We are doing a bunch of upgrades and after each performance mod, we are going on the dyno to compare results.

Pagid brake...
I like that there’s a hard top ND now I can finally like it
330i touring with M suspension and a crazy tuned up N/A engine
Estate car mentioned the e46 is redeemed
has the 330i ZHP bumpers and rockers also
I think it looks better than the coupe lol
thats the other thing
the fucking E46 330i ZHP's are going for more than M3's?
its just the M suspension and a 6 speed on the slow car
I feel like the e46 looks weirdly front heavy usually with the styling
Like they forgot about the other half of the car
Something about it is offputting
It also looks awful in silver
My apologies
Which grey tho
silbergrau
Is it the dark one or the light metallic one
light metallic
someone local owns a black on black M3 slick top with comp package
it is the nicest looking car ive ever seen
I think that metallic silver cars almost always look worse than most other colours tbf I’m biased
I’m not sure why
Purple e46 was the best colour
oh also its probably the dumb BMW thing
BMW has the rear arches way lower than the front
its been a thing since the new class cars
the 2002 etc
which one, all the purples were the fancy BMW Individual colors
wouldnt you be able to do it aftermarket? or is it a proprietary color (because of course it would be)?
they did ONE E46 in Technoviolet
no, its just it would cost 20k to have a car painted
painting a car is very expensive now
it used to be like 1000 bucks and a 12 pack of beer
Incredible
It looks not good but like it’s a fun colour so it gets extra points
this is the most expensive non CSL E46 to ever be sold btw
Derek Tam-Scott owned it, car reviewer and co founder of a specialty car dealer called OTS and Co
sold for like 117,000 USD after the auction fee
so its sold for more than some CSL's have
iirc my car is the same sprint blue colour as the older audis had
Idk if it’s still the same colour now
There’s so many of those here
bare bones stripped down F430 with the very last of the single clutch auto boxes, but the single clutch uses the ACTUAL motorsports tuning so its very good and much better than the standard cars
F430 is one of the best looking cars they’ve made I think lol
It aged well
Carlton for sale in the US thats pog
These are also stupidly expensive
Here even
Like
Ridiculous
They are
its literally the only lotus sedan?
But I don’t think they’re worth like £200k or whatever
They’ll probably just end up in someone’s garage anyway
plus it was on Hagerty with Jason Cammisa
Lotus' first and only-ever 4-door sedan was badged the Lotus Omega (left-hand-drive versions) or Lotus Carlton (RHD.)
Based on the European Car of the Year award-winning Opel Omega and Vauxhall Carlton twins, it was the fastest regular production sedan in the world, and that caused major controversy in the socioeconomic class-conscious United K...
this guy
car so fast that the british parliament said they shouldnt be allowed to sell it cause it was half the price of a Ferrari
Mfw I can’t afford essentials such as the lotus Carlton bc government hates me
but it was ok for people to steal and joy ride Ferraris and crash them and die
British hellcat
someone ram raided a store that was across the street from a police station and when they saw it was a Lotus they didnt even chase them
I think its cause the whole GM merger was fucked
Vauxhall hated Lotus
and Chevrolet wouldnt let them use their transmission from the Corvette ZL1
cause the Lotus was just faster than the vette in every way
or sorry, ZR1
The VXR8 is kind of interesting ig
Lotus even fucking designed the engine for the C4 ZR1 lmao
And I still like the vectra as a v6 accord alternative
which Lotus got picked over Chevy's own engine team
Back when lotus made cool stuff as well
which made Chevy's engine team mad, which is what caused them to create the LS
the british created the LS
lmao
not intentionally but they still did it
isnt the VXR8 a Holden
me when Holden made all of the best cars that GM had for like a whole decade
I don’t think it’s actually the exact same car but it’s the same platform
I think it’s like 3 different holdens lol
and 6 speed manuals
Bc it was made longer than they made one holden for
The monaro is also a Vauxhall here
like if I saw this I wouldnt think anything about it
but its got a full fat aluminum block 6.2 liter LS
and it only came with a 6 speed manual
have you seen the Holden HSV Monaro's?
Pretty sure that’s what the monaro VXR is here
Monaro's but with different bodies and more track stuff
ya
They’re cool
There’s a lot of interesting GM stuff that I have never seen irl somehow
Uhhh
wait rebadged OPEL stuff?
Isn’t Opel and Vauxhall just the same thing anyway with different badges
and Peugeot and Citroen oh god....
They make vans here idk if Opel has vans
yeal lmao
the Corsa doesnt look so bad
kinda interesting looking little hatch
its angy
its angy that its an Opel
I quite like these tho
im so sad now
europe will feel the wrath of American engineering
as in breaking every five minutes
Tbf all of the GM corsas were designed in a way that seemed to be tailored towards letting people steal basically every external and possibly internal part of it with a hammer and one screwdriver
So I give them no credit for that thing
Yes this tracks none of those companies make good cars now
when Stellantis bought Fiat-Chrysler
Actually the new Citroen DS is alright
And there’s one good Peugeot I can’t remember which one
he got a severance package that was like a few million plus he could sell all of his stocks and he owned an actual large amount of stocks
so he got to retire with a large yachts worth of cash
at least he commissions cool stuff
he commisioned the Hellucination from Speedkore
it is a 68 Dodge Charger but they laser scanned the whole body, replaced it all with carbon fiber and stuck a tube frame in it, and threw in a 1000hp Hellephant engine
The Dodge Charger Hellucination ($not for sale bucko) is a 1968 restomod built by the custom shop Speedkore. Powering this carbon-fibre-outfitted classic muscle car is an inhuman 7.0 litre hellephant engine, with a 3.0 litre supercharger attached. Because 7.0 litres of naturally aspirated power just won’t cut it for owner Ralph Gilles, Chief Des...
oh he got his severence package from Chrysler/Dodge, then became head of Design for Stellantis corporate
so he probably gave the greenlight for the MC20 and MCXtrema
MC20 is cool
hng yep
i'm not sure much if any of the cool designer dna is left in stellantis now lol
idk
I think they should get an italian design house on contract
whatever it is
like get Bertone on retainer lmao
cause I actually think maserati's dont look awful
i wonder if they're farming the design of their new stuff out to china lol
because the jeep recon looks like a chinese approximation of a wrangler
nah its just all by stellantis now
guy I was just talking about would be the one working with the design teams
which, tbf, americans buying bug SUV's and stuff want HARD and RUGGED looking stuff
the new offroad focused Mazda lineup did that and they sell decently well now
plastic cladding and wider more aggressive stance
Ralph Gilles
ngl I dont think the new Charger even looks bad
I think it looks way more expensive than it actually is
i'm not going to be able to form an opinion on those until I see them in person
true
from what i've seen in pictures and videos they look ok
i saw some pics on Ralphs insta cause I follow him and it looks way better in the pictures he has taken than the ones on dodges website
also the Fiat 500E in the background lmao
in its cool rose gold paint color
like my first thought is they kinda lowered the front/back too much?
with a spoiler the back will probably look good
yea like a duck tail
a fat duck tail would look great on it...
except the fox body had matching side window height
the 2025 charger's side windows look a little too hgih
i think that's the real problem LOL
notchback?
yea
also i really wanna see how the 4 door turns out
they want it to be usable as a 4 seater
but as it stands
i think the real big deal will be killing the v8s and having the i6 and the ev drivetrains as the only options
once ppl get their hands on the EV's their opinions will change
because I have not heard good things about the i6 drivetrain
at least in terms of being in the wagoneer
the wagoneer is fat
but also we dont do much work on the i6 at the dealer im at
its mostly the electronics in the wagoneer
oh!!!
you would know better than I would
but they don't even sell that many, at least out here
we've not had to warranty out an engine or order any parts for them yet
I see them sometimes but they're fairly rare
i wonder what they're doing with the electronics LOL
i mean
i have a good idea what they're doing if my wrangler is any indication >>
lmao
and mine, for the record, works fine
ngl with how much of rat nests modern cars have become, it is super hard to have bullet proof electronics
it even survived me pulling the pdc to change out the battery tray
idk I'm still kinda blaming the designers and the budget but it's not so much the designers as
like 6 miles of cable running through you car
contracting each bit out and not having the pieces talk to each other correctly?
yuh
and then because the design cycles are shorter
the bits only talk on the BUS, but the BUS has to differentiate between everything and make it all talk correctly, which is not perfect
they rush unfinished stuff out?
or at least don't sus it out well enough
and also at the same time they don't really seem to do delta updates if this makes sense like
I would say the design cycles are normal
aside from mazda and tesla
its just the leaps in tech are much crazier
most car companies' solution to a bad design is "buy a new one after the refresh comes out"
instead of fixing the fucking problem mid-model-year
everybody should just contract out rivian lol
the wrangler's aluminum steering box debacle was one of the only times i've seen chrysler/fca/stellantis do that
I cant wait until the R3 is out
the "oh my that was a bad idea, here's a completely new design"
I think the R3 will be a Tesla beater and Rivian wont be prepared for it either lol
(funny thing, I still have the original aluminum box in my jeep)
i wonder if they'll ever replace it with fiber optics >>
that would get rid of the 'rogue device has shorted out and brought down the can bus' problem
im not sure how that would work just because of how many things are going on at once
how is the packaging of optic cables?
cause BUS is running very tiny cables
connectors r smol
plus the funny glass cables can break if you bend them wrong iirc?
I do see a lot of Rivians here
I see a lot of Ineos' as well lmao
other states have big off road culture but I think utah stands on its own mountain
the Jeep is literally predominantly tested here because of how many people buy them and immediately go rock crawling with them
I do like how confident RJ, the CEO of Rivian, is about everything, cause he is leading the company like Mercedes used to run themselves, engineers first find the money after
Get a new Rivian and 6 months of free charging on the Rivian Adventure Network HERE: https://www.rivian.com/configurations/list?reprCode=ZACK1594426 What is it REALLY like owning a Rivian R1T? Built ready, go freely with the ultimate 3-in-1 portable mobile power solution: Anker 3-in-1 Power Bank (5,000mAh): https://shop.anker.com/Y33UHq Anker 3-...
I see this guy occasionally, he is somehow the only person in utah who ordered a white R1T
F-35 more like bad am I right
Like why are you getting obliterated by a woman twice your height is this a fetish thing
Yea he would use fem player model
yar
Disgusting
I hope you get tentacled in black ops 6 zombies
yes
Anyone using 6700 xt for Final Fantasy XIV?
@real edge i saw an r7 5700x costed rm 759
why are intel much more expensive
but try and get the 5700x3d if you can which should cost 180-200$
but i coulnt find an rx 6660
The only downside of it is the DDR4 platform tho
Which should be fine-ish for 5 years later
Though
When ddr6
But seriously, if not an often upgrader, may it's fine to skip a gen
it gives an opportunity to upgrade to a 9800X3D or more down the line
Oh, ya that
I am planning on keeping the 5800x3d for a long while
My machike that I lend to my fren is rocking 5600G, still rock well
Usually I'd splurge in like, top of the line last gen, skip a gen, then get newer gen
Then again that's the cpu-memory-mother oard combo, the gpu in the other hand is another thing
They may not restock it?
Like, my place is mostly nvidia stuff, amd are so damn rare, Sapphire cards are almost nonexist
Gpu or cpu?
gpu
Bc 4060 is quite like uh 1060-ish or so, rather budget and lower-mid range-ish
but rtx 4060 is like 1.4k
If you only game and not mind some jank, ye 6600 is neat
tho I encounter some hella jank shiet with nvidia gpu anyway lmao
i game and multitask xD
whats the best mobo on a budget
but idk which budget mobo is good
It’s a worse gpu as well
The 6600xt is close to a 4060 the 6600 isn’t
im on a budget
theres a 4060 and rx7600 on that site and theyre both 1400
besides
id just get the 4060
im not one who upfrades often
and no i wouldnt b uy that
why not the 5600
i multitask
what cpu is it
i5 4440
4 core cpu is probably struggling as much from old age as it is from being 4 core
yeah thats just a slow cpu
u shouldnt get the a520m for the 5600x or 5700x anyway
the b550m hdv or b550m pro vdh wifi are more expensive but its not worth cheaping out on the motherboard tbh
but wouldnt i benefit from 8 cores tho?
depends what you're doing
well i have an instesive app running when im on xiv lol
ffxiv only scales up to 4 cores afaik
i run a virtual world app too
id get the 5700x if you can afford that and a good motherboard but not if you have to buy the a520 to be able to afford it
the a520 has bad VRMs and bad cooling for them, it also doesnt have pcie 4 where the b550 chipset does
which one
vdm non pro
idk which one u mean
b550m-vdm
right
well its basically one of the lowest end b550 boards, only has 2 r am slots, worse cooling than some of them for VRMs again but still better than the a520 ones and capable, and worse connectivity
the pro vdh is a higher end one but still cheap-ish
oooh welp
i think the pro vdh is worth spending the money on but it still is more expensive so i just pointed out the only other decent cheap one as well lol
worse connectivity?
hdv only has 1 m.2 slot, less usb, and less usb 3.2 specifically iirc
@sly elk it looks like Rivians are also depreciating fairly decently like other EV’s so if you wanted a 400 mile range pickup in a few years that sounds like a decent buy, some are under 60k with 20k miles, specifically launch edition trucks which I believe have a transferable warranty
Yep lol neat
I’ve said if I did an ev I’d get A Lucid air lol
I’m sure that anything made before this year will depreciate even harder because of the charging connector
Which is probably worth waiting for the new one anyway lol
Those old charger systems suck
WHAT
Make it purple
Wanna ask for some opinion for gpu to play ffxiv...
Either used 6700xt or new 4060?
With the 4060 $70 more expensive
For xiv: not that important tho
The more important is there are any other games you want to play beside xiv?
there’s a few LFA’s in salt lake
This one is probably one of the highest mileage ones in the world?
He drives it every week even in the winter lol
god I need it
There is a Japanese guy that’s been daily driving his since new so I think that one is probably the highest mileage in the world
Oh there’s only 38 red ones
i wonder if they had to do anything other than basic maintenance on it lol
probably not
that's the kinda thing i like about japanese supercars lol
there's plenty of people who bought the original nsx and daily drove that shit as if it were an accord
uh nah
NSX was kinda temperamental
costs more to maintain than a Ferrari F40 too cause Ferrari still makes parts for the F40, Honda doesnt make parts at all and refuses to
People here seem to not have that issue, they still get daily driven
Afaik u can still get parts for them here without much issue
I thought they still supplied parts for now atl for a few more years and they only said that they will be stopping selling them soon
On owners forums people don’t seem to complain about it anyway
the issue is not having access to new parts
where as you just call up ferrari, give them a vin, and they will make everything new
if you want a new entire shell for an F40 you just give them the vin, they charge you 90k, and you have a whole new F40 basically
luckily the amount of times u have to do that is not a high number
even if not new from honda the aftermarket parts are plentiful for mechanical issues
lol
if the jeep wrangler is the most reliable thing you currently produce, you have a problem as a company
Buying a load of companies with no synergy and also all of the least appealing ones in the first place seems like a bad business choice to me
Yet they did that
Yet they made absolute bank the last two years
Sales will dip but parts sales are increasing because more and more older vehicles are getting higher mileage or pulled out of dealers
Generally, everybody besides limited production brands aren’t doing so well
It’s just a bad time to be a car company when nobody who historically bought your cars can buy your cars
yep yep
historically the solution to that was to make bargain basement models that had nothing at all except the basics
but that was 30 years ago when those features actually cost more
i'm not sure a manual crank window assembly costs less than a power window assembly these days
or that in the scale of a $25,000 car, that using a bargain basement mediatek tablet platform that costs idk $100 for everything is really going to make a big difference vs a $500 one
plus if you do make bargain basement cars you end up with the problem Tata had when they launched the Nano lol
god damn the 7800x3d has risen in price
i got mine for like 330 and now its 500€ over here
no stock bc 9800x3d people expected to suck after the other new releases on am5 and everyone who had waited for that bought a 7800x3d lol
except turns out the 9800x3d itself will probably be way better than the others
theyre not discontinued so itll go back down in price when the 9800 is on sale
In 1969 and 1970 Ford built this G code powered Boss 302 to go racing against Chevrolet's Camaro Z/28 in the Trans Am Series. 290hp is transferred to the rear wheels through a 4 speed manual transmission.

the 70,000 dollar Mustang
I would buy one of these over a new mustang
After a staggeringly successful IPO, Rivian shares and market value have plummeted. With interest rates high and funding drying up, some analysts say the electric SUV and truck maker is potentially just a couple of programs away from bankruptcy. However, in 2024 it received a big shot in the arm—a $5 billion investment from German automaker, Vol...
You’re setting the bar low on that comparison to be fair
Lmao
That 302 is particularly nice tho
Still my favourite car from that time at that price would be a c2 corvette
RIVIANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
the scout truck looks an awful lot like a r1t
TIL razer makes aio water coolers
yeah lmao
ahh i got this cheap little usb label/sticker printer off amazon for laughs
it has mac/windows drivers but not linux ones, so i figured i'd try stuffing the mac drivers into cups because, you'd think that was universal right? WRONG! 😄
the filter fails to execute because the mac driver is a binary thing. gg.
wow this is pretty damn good for a generic ass printer lol
@potent arrow is it you or @dire viper that’s the auto shop person in here?
Fair enough, it’s a weird q so let me make sure I’m actually making sense.
Since I live in a rural area, it’s all dirt/yard. Would it be better/safe to use a platform of sorts made from 2x4s to give wheels and jacks firmer surfaces to be on?
Easy to use concrete surfaces for auto maintenance are harder to come by
not weird because I do the same shit
to be safe
get like
a big chunk of plywood and then the jacks on that
so the weight of the jacks are spread across the entire sheet
more surface area the better
A lot of people do htis
but I high recomend bigger boards
so its more surface area
Oh yea, if I do something like this I’m going to make a 2x4 panel or something so the jack has enough room too
i like the purple embody chair
Just debating whether it should be on the thinner side or make it like a 4 inch glued/nailed lumber slab or w/e
lilac?
i assume you want a thicker slab?
also how sketchy you wanna be might depend on what you're doing right?
like changing a tire nbd
oil change, a little sketchy is ... not the worst thing in the world i guess, stuff the spare tire under there ust in case?
but like changing out a transmission or something that involves a breaker bar? ehhhhh
changing a tire is more sketchy then oil change wdym
oil change you dont even have to remove the tires, slide under pop the bolt with a pan
theres no risk tehre
changing a tire you need jack stands and shit
Nah, just a jack that at maximum lift is basically vertical over the pivot pin

And still have to deflate the tire to get it off
yeah but it has a chance of the jack tipping over and it knocking into someone
thats my point its less safe then oil change
ive seen it, jacks just mean less safe
Oh I know
It’s also why when i used it to take off the tires to do my brakes I hade it perpendicular to the car
That way the only way it could tip was if the car started rolling
Full chocks on the other three tires at a time made sure that was a remote risk though
I still need to find a shop in the area that will either install and wire a hitch receiver for less than U-Haul’s stealership level pricing
Or will let me rent time on their lift to do it myself
bolt on or welded?
Ive done bolt on in a walmart parking lot when we had to pick up a shitbox LOL
I didnt know uhaul had that kinda of service tbh
And looking at how easy it is to install provided to have the ability to lift it high enough, it’s like 10 minutes for the wiring
And maybe 20-30 for the hitch
Only in certain locations though
But yea, I think I could install the receiver myself with the tools I have
It’s mainly the wiring that’s a pisser because I’d have to be able to run a ground connection from the hitch area itself all the way to the battery
i mean
i said oil change is spookier because you have to get underneath
you don't get under the car changing a tire
and you should already have the bolts either entirely off or very loose before you lift the car in the air anyway so it's not like you're applying a lot of force
(same with an oil change though LOL)
(if you have to use a breaker bar to take the oil pan plug off then whoever put it on last did it very wrong
It sure is! I haven't tested it out yet - One of the first things I do is disable suspend since my wife, myself, and kids are either running ML workloads (pytorch, tensor flow, quantized model training) or downloading Steam games on these systems.
what a strange family
i wonder if they discuss tensorflow over dinner
hmm why would someone swtich an o11 for a fractal north?
kinda sounds like a downgrade to me
Meanwhile my tier of car stuff
Damn pc doesn't wanna turn on
still beeps like hell even though i reseated it and cleaned it even switched the ram modules too
just how long ago did they stop selling that milkshake
it was like a year ago at least lmao
i wodner how old the pizza is
Is it ok to spam a few car meet photos here?
go for it
theres a ton of gear nerds here
I love my cars, whatcha got
stop me
I ALSO DONT WANTA BEEMER
Hyundai Elantra N
I think I rather die
Actually
then be seen driving an elantra
People who drive elantras's get sock soaped maced to death at car meets
I think the Elantra N looks better than the 86/BRZ
The refresh one now absolutely does
Unsure what those would cost
I hate thegrill lol
It tries way too hard to look modern kinda look
somehow worse then lexus fish mouth
They redesigned it
But for the performance there is nothing close in price besides used BMW’s
And it’s got 4 doors
It’s actually the same level of track performance as an E46 M3 coupe
They usually have identical track times
ok but
it looks fugly
I want my daily to look good
I literally drive shitboxes 24/7
It looks fine
Tbh there’s basically 0 really good looking new sedans
The old elantra looked better imo
That looks as good as you, which is to say horrendous
in fact its as good as my aim in bo6
It’s not even comparable to your aim cause at least the car has substance
Me watching Sarah miss every single shot on someone standing still facing away from her
Im so good you dont even know
I always thought that elantra looked really cheap
But most car mags and stuff go gaga for those so what do I know lol
Artisanal GMO-free free trade flash memory
The old ones interior was meh but like they’re cheaper by a LOT than most other cars like it so
You get a lot more for ur money still than with most other new cars
Although the i20 and 30 N are quite expensive now lmao
how absurd lol
I get that the ram is expensive because the stupid on-SoC memory design only allows for 2 chips
But, iirc, macs usually have 2 nand chip spots... I don't believe it's expensive to get 1tb or 2tb in 2 nand chips
They did the same shit even when they were normal SODIMMs. It's simply Apple taking the piss out of their customers as usual.
they did, but again I can kinda sorta forgive them for the ram. just not the SSDs. The soldered on nand chips is fucking asinine
they've already proven they didn't need to do that
i just can't take their claims about caring about the environment seriously when they do that
that said, as long as you're using a desktop it's not the biggest deal in the world
Solder more on yourself?
or just plug in a thunderbolt ssd and be done with it
use the built-in one as a boot drive
Isn't the RAM like a 300-400% markup as well tho? Should be like 30% or something tops.
but if the soldered on shit craps out the computer won't work anymore
apparently they store the low level firmware on it lol
Of course. Gotta sabotage 3rd party repairs any way possible via malicious compliance.
like i was watchign a video where someone took the nand chip off a macbook and showed how it won't even charge without a nand chip
(they were advertising a solder-on mod board that has a socket so you can swap ssds out
but also
I wonder how these engineers feel about designing something intentionally adversarial towards their own customers.
the chances of actually burning out the ssd in your usual use case are low
the usual mac user is gonna use that shit 3-5 years and then ewaste it anyway
and then apple will use their special robot to delicately pick it apart and save the environment /s
and to be fair here
getting 5 years out of a mini and then recycling it probably isn't any worse than using an hp minitower for 10 years and then recycling it
or the sheer amount of trash produced by other brands LOL
one day iw as sitting in line at big lots
and marveled at the big case full of tablets that were practically ewaste on the shelf
the mac mini is probably less ewaste than those, even
They feel the weight of the money in their pockets probably
I know a few people who work with companies that suck but most people care more about what they’re paid than the moral implications
OMG WHY THE FUCK DO PEOPLE DO THIS
could be worse. could be a "let me google that for you" that links to a page that no longer exists
ya know the back side window is giving me hyundai elantra vibes
I googled another issue the other day and found a technet post about it from 2023....it was mine
i found a coworker's forum post once this way
Also I could go on a whole rant about how utterly shit/nonexistent microsoft's tech support is
I did actually figure out my issue from 2023 this time, by myself, after 4 days of hardly any sleep and changing our entire recovery process....so there's that
But I guess if MS were any good a whole lot of us wouldn't have jobs now would we
LOL
i'm glad my experience is tinkering with linux machines
what's the worst that can happen? someone tells me to rtfm
no that's the 2025+
they're available as an ev or with a twin turbo i6
(stellantis twin turbo i6..... yea........)
i think it's like 400hp? and probably about as reliable as a 90s jaguar
I sure hope we aren't making the turbo for that one
i assume the turbo was made in china by the lowest bidder
I can't withstand another twin turbo
probably made oout of plastic too /s
yeah funny but turns out the reason we put heat shield on some of our tubos is not to protect the turbo but to protect the rest of the engine from the turbo
I think it’s 500 and something or 400
They have 2 i6 ones
