Holy shit the 300SL Alloy sold for 9.3 million, it was only estimated to be around 4-6
Buyer paid 9.355, 8.5 for the car, rest for the auction fee

It costs so much because there were only 30 made iirc
The panels are made out of an aluminum alloy and are so thin that these cars regularly would have warping in the body panels if they hit really big bumps or something like that, but this was the quickest 300SL you could buy as a road car because of the weight reduction
This is one of the few remaining ones and is in very good condition for being unmoved in a shed in a scrapyard for 50 years, car is capable of running with some light overhauls
