samsung has kinda become a meme for SSDs because of their issues they used to have and because you pay a premium for something that does nothing to deserve the extra money.
that said, are you only able to get samsung SSDs cheaper or other brands too?

because 120 for the 990 pro is actually a comparatively good price, given that they usually go for like 160.
but yeah, your board only really supports up to PCIe 3.0, so there isnt much point in getting a PCIe 4 SSD, unless you plan to upgrade your rig soon

The S54 actually doesn’t stop making power until like 10,000 RPM but the cost of making an oil system that could cope with that was too much at the time

Would have had to go dry sump and go crazy amounts of oil which means bigger oil radiator and the E46 chassis already had limited front real estate

no, it's just ddr4

i think it's also a bit because of the docking station is connected whilst booting, the boot is much shorter when disconnected

also kernel boot is long due to me having to enter the decryption key (i think)
