@deep sapphire so this is gonna be kind of a weird one, so my new laptop arrived and since it had 2 NVME slots I slapped in my old SSD as well, I'm using the new one as the boot drive so there wouldnt be driver issues and whatnot, but since windows is still installed on the old drive as well should I delete windows from that ?

also what folders would be deleted alongside windows, it would be sad if all my games vanished

they said don't even bother doing anything to it yet, until the engine light comes back on

and if/when the light comes back on, bring it back and they'll replace the spark plugs for £80-100 which is fine

I looked at youtube to see if I could do it and I don't have a socket thingy anyway, so might as well just let this guy do it

Oh nice, yeah it’s most likely spark plugs, plug wires or the coil pack. If 2 cylinders are misfiring like 1 and 2 but 3 and 4 are fine it could be one.

If you have a valid Windows 10 license on your Microsoft account, the upgrade should be free. That's how it worked for me. You shouldn't need to buy it if you're upgrading.

I actually lost my HDD when I rage quit and scrapped my last build after it started idling at 94C. Thought I was going to have to buy a new install, but I was able to authenticate using the license from my laptop's W10 install.

Yeah. I could have probably salvaged the video card at least, now that I've thought about it, but everything else was a rebuild. I put a heavy duty aftermarket cooler in, a 2 TB SSD, 32 GB of RAM and a 3060. Even if I had been able to get the temperature under control, which probably could have been fixed with a repaste and a remount of the cooler, I feel like the HDD was eventually going to fail- it was already giving me issues. Plus I don't think I had enough cooling in general when I was running the machine at 4K, that stock AMD wasn't enough and I didn't have enough fans.
