OBS obliterates my computer this is awesome

not sure why, my computer uses 10% of the GPU under load when playing the game im recording but as soon as I use NVENC it throttles it to 100% and it sits there, discord is a slide show as im typing this

even after I close OBS my computer is pegging the GPU at 50% constantly and any GPU related stuff just boosts it to 100%

it takes like 10-15 minutes for it to chill

looks like CPU encoding it is but thats not gonna be a long term solution cause that is also very demanding 😭

okay I created the most scuffed fucking setup to be able to split my browser/spotify audio to Track 2 in OBS through hardware solutions

by making my second DAC the standard playback device, looping it back into my PC through the Line-In channel in my sound card, and then forcing that Line-In channel to playback to the first DAC, and also set the default playback device for browser and Spotify to the first DAC

so EVERYTHING except for browser and Spotify goes out through the second DAC, back in through the Line-In, and then is mixed with the browser and Spotify audio and then goes out through the first DAC

and that way I can have one channel for each DAC in OBS set to Track 1 and Track 2 separately, and I can still listen to the mix directly from my second DAC

Yea like tesla using the touchscreen for the windshield wipers seems a bit nuts. Apparently one of the scroll wheels on the steering wheel turns into a "change wiper speed" control when the wipers are on though.

As for hvac, the thing that kills me is I've used some very intuitive and easy to control blindly HVAC controls before. So putting it on a dumb touchscreen is such a sad alternative.

like to me the 3-4 knob system is the best by far
