I never took my car to the wash
Especially aluminum stuff
Just let it die
Galvanic corrosion is real killer even today
Cause they have resorted back to less rust proofing cause cheaper
Also because bean counters think aluminum can't rust, only steel or iron
So if you park it in a garage every night, you're going thru that process repeatedly vs if it stays outside and the temp isn't above freezing, that will happen far less. Especially if you're driving in fresh snow first before the trucks come out to salt, so you almost get a "protective layer" of caked snow/ice.
Jeeps have some galvanic corrosion issues
Which is a bit funny
If you anodize aluminum it’s fine
But that’s expensive :)
probably costs only a few cents at such massive production numbers
Yep super common because they were stuoid and put steel hinges on aluminum doors
With no gasket
They just finally added a rubber gasket
The good news is they are generally fixing corrosion issues under warranty but the warranty only lasts so long
The other good news is I haven’t noticed any on mine yet lmao
My Jeep still looks pretty much the same as it did the day I bought it. The only real change was the black plastic cowl cover faded lol: I bought a new one a while ago but can’t be araed to change it
So I want to upgrade my PC. It's currently running Windows 7, and has a NVIDIA GT 710, AMD Sempron 140, 12 GB of RAM and it's all inside a Dell Inspiron 570 case.
This thing. (Mine's a purple one)
At this point you mean replace, bc the only thing that would still be usable is the HDD, and even then running the OS on a HDD in 2024 is yikes
The case might still work, but the airflow in that thing looks non-existent, so I wouldn't recommend it.

So, time for a new case?
If it's still the dell PSU in it, it's probably specced to only handle the hardware in it now, so it's probably something laughable like 230W
Give us a budget and a country and we can help picking out stuff
needs a new case, new psu for better parts, needs a new cpu, needs a new motherboard for the cpu, needs a new gpu, could definitely use an ssd
At this point, the integrated graphics on an intel CPU is probably better than a GT710
AMD I think only includes an iGPU if you go with their APU lineup right?
A modern one? Sure. You can run it on a Steam Deck even.
Will it have high settings and FPS? No.
All depends on what their budget is. If they've lived with that relic for as long as they have, IMHO they could tolerate an igpu until they had more money for a real gpu if need-be.
looks like used 3050 8gb are $150-200USD on ebay
5600g would perhaps
That’s too much
U can get a new rx6600 for under 200
Which do be considerably faster
Or for a 3050 equivalent the 1660s/1070ti/5600xt something like that
Which could be like 100-150 if u look hard enough
7000 series has igpus on them all
AM4 didn’t
Yeah I looked at the 1660ti at first, but assumed the 3050 would be better simply bc only a bit more but has 8gb vram instead of 6
But I'll wait for them to respond with a budet if they're serious, or maybe they were trolling us even who knows.
AMD more like LAMEMD
I think you’d struggle to find a game where u can use the 8GB on those cards before u start getting 20 fps anyway
Hmm... let's do $100 USD budget, and in the US.
U can get nothing for that
A used PS3
Basically
How about $200 USD?
Still not enough for a whole pc really
You need like
Like atl $350
1200 minimum to have a good experience
For a full PC?
U rly don’t
I think you do
Time to clock out cya
600-800 will get u a completely usable pc for modern gaming buying mostly new
400ish u can do it used and play some new games
How much can u spend at most
I mean, you could probably find a used CPU/mobo/ram on ebay for $200 but that still leaves at least a PSU and questions on what sort of igpu would be involved.
Yeah
I've been building 800-900$ for budget 1080p computers lol
depends on what you are playing
U can maybe get an old optiplex and like an rx580
If ur building ‘budget’ PCs for $900 ur doing smth wrong
yes once again I'm back at it with my usual i3 recommendation
I'm Canadian
our dollar is worthless
Yeah, I mean you slap a 13100F, Radeon 6600 w/e or 1660 super in there and you can make something passable for like $500-600
Silly canadians.
exactly
Oh yeah that’s more like it
you can play most 1080p games with something like that
Not the 13100f
13100f is fine
Go find a used 3600 or something for like $60
Obviously we're talking new prices except for maybe the gpu. if you want to talk used then that's different
It’s as fast as the cheaper 5500 and 12100f
Well I just gave new options too
shinning....
That are better
The i3 is easily the better budget cpu out rn
It’s not
bro don't hurt me rn
It’s objectively more expensive for the same performance as the 12100f and 5500
I can't help it most of the time, the chaos demands suffering.
U can potentially get a 5600 for the same price
Ur paying more for the same cpu
These days I’d rather stretch for the 5600 most times but depends what games u play specifically
I'd be hesitant to base any new build on a 5xxx tbh.
They're EoL, I'd almost take a lesser chip in the 7xxx series and at least take the socket advantage.
sigh, either way the user is going off a 200$ budget or less I doubht they'll go any higher
You’re aware we’re talking $500 build here
It's gonna have to be like some used prebuilt they could slap a new GPU into or something
impala wanna watch me drown my laptop in isopropyl
7000 series is just a definite no
Tbh, I haven't looked at a low-end 7xxx, so not sure tbh.
Some prebuilt and a 1060/1070 or equivalent will maybe be $200
Cpu is $150-200 for a 7500f or 7600
Mobo is $120 for a decent one
Yeah, it'd be marginal at best.
I’d take the 5600/12400f and get a better gpu when u have less money
There’s always the 5700/5800x3d anyway which is 7600 equivalent
For later
I didn't take a stop at the x3d's, how are they in terms of real-world perf?
That one is probably gonna go for a lot more by the time the bidding is done tho
I mean, yeah, stacked die's are amazing, so it's not a surprise, and AMD's always been memory choked, so the more cache the better for a ryzen.
This one might stay reasonable:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/204780926187?itmmeta=01HXAEC4GHYEG5F5EWBCH52HA1
im probably gonna get a 5700X3D and a 3080 or 4080 soon
already bought a top of the line mobo so im very comfy in terms of upgrading rn
...how much did you spend on the mobo...
They good
I've got my mobo and proc in for RMA. I'm not happy they both shat the bed.
5700x3d and 5800x3d are as fast or faster than the 7600 depending on game
7800x3d is as fast as the 14900k if not faster when cache matters
Sounds about right for AMD performance.
Yeah, the downside to intel is they still haven't done huge cache chips yet.
Well, not at the consumer level.
They haven’t rly done anything amazing recently
its kinda nice that not having a top of the line CPU isnt that big of a limitation
It’s been multiple refreshes
That's normal for them.
but also GPU's are expensive and the 30 series just ate shit as soon as the 40 series dropped
Well there used to be cool stuff
I’d kind of like to have a 9980x or something
But they’re stupid expensive
Most of my gear is server-grade now, except for my desktop, so it's all kinda in the wash for me. xD
I just moved away from Intel for my current pc
Amusingly, I just did an intel build for my desktop, both the 14900ks and the z790 board are getting RMA'ed, so I'm on something cheaper atm.
the fucking 4090 nuclear bomb
I don’t enjoy 200 extra watts for no benefit
lmao
Why the 14900ks tho
U can’t cool it and it’s not meaningfully faster than like the 13900k or 14900k
Because I can.
Right
Which is all the justification I require. xD
the Intel CPU on its way to delid itself from the heat
I wanted to get the 7950x but I didn’t in the end
Tbh, after I had 2 dead 5950x's, I've got a slightly hard time buying the highest end AMD gear.
14900ks under full load gonna need a custom loop or delid and like 420mm AIO tbh
Well u also have a dead 14900ks so like
It’s just luck
how have you had so many dead parts whar
With the amount of gear that cycles through my house, it's not /super/ surprising.
Yeah, they're unspurpisingly hard to get up to the clock speed's they're aiming for.
7950x on top
I know people who had issues with it
I have a 5600X and I have a full AIO on it lmao
Shrug Most of my computing needs I shove off to an epyc, it's only whatever I need for gaming really on my desktop.
Why would u not have a 7800x3d
Then
cause I bought my CPU and AIO for super cheap from a clearance sale at a best buy
Like I said, I got bit by AMD, so i'm not happy with them at the moment.
and I was gonna upgrade to a 5800X3D then I lost my job
So u bought a product from an actuallt bad company
Instead
I still like AMD server procs (Obviously, or I wouldn't have epycs), but their desktop chips are mid for me.

I scammed the best buy, the box was opened and they gave me it for like 80 bucks
AIOs are louder idle so I haven’t gotten one
For the 2-4 hours a month I game, I'm sure it'll be fine and hilarious for what I want.
It’s just potentially slower than the 7800x3d while costing more
You assume cost is something I even stop to consider.
Well it’s also just a worse product
Anything just short of a GPU in a moden desktop build is pretty much pocket change.
Shrug Works fine for what I'm doing, so that's fine in my books.
Sure
if intel made something i could get for cheap and was comparable to the cheap thing I would buy them
the only thing I care about saving money on is pc shit
If Intel made a good product I’d buy it
(They dont)
All the good ones are from 2 generations ago tbh
I am about to spend like 5k on an exhaust for my car so shrug
You just have all the luck with hardware, huh?
Been there, done that, whatcha getting? 😄
custom
Pretty much.
dont know who im going with yet
My army of epycs are all happy and stable, which is what I really care about.
My desktop can be replaced in a couple hours off amazon if something goes wrong.
I just refused to spend 1k on coilovers and only replaced springs on mine for 140 lol
priced out the stuff and its very expensive cause I dont want stinky titanium, cause titanium goes brittle from the heat cycling
inconel all the way
Exhaust more than I paid for my car tbh
Classy.
what are your dampers going bad
the dampers themselves matter more than the actual physical spring
Coilovers rusty and the front springs just broke
My car no-longer has an exhaust, or much I can upgrade. I'm hoping to build a kit car to get back to it in a couple years.
So I replaced all of them with 20mm lower ones
also I would check aftermarket cause companies like Bilstein make direct OEM replacements, their B4 line of dampers are purely OEM
and usually its Bilstein/Sachs/Koni whos supplying anyways
if they make Koni Special Active's for your car those are nice
they stay soft until you start chucking the car into corners
Bilstein make them and they’re not expensive
which matters to me
My car is not fun to drive anyway particularly
BMW moment
I like how I dont have to make my car louder cause its already loud as hell from factory
Small hatchback I got as first car and I will not be replacing it for some time
just have to make it sound better
thats real
I wish I had a beater rn
but I like having an M3 so shrug
next year probably going to sell the M3 and get a Porsche Cayman
cause the Cayman has cheaper insurance lmao
Lol
also cheaper maintenance cause its reliable
I’ll keep working on mine until I won’t get anything more out of stock internals which won’t take long bc I have the 1.2
1.2 liter zamn
Yeah
my engine is 3.2 😭
nah thats not bad
my old ass bimmer still does 0-60 in 4.5
from a stand point of having driven lots of cars and having worked on even more, the S54 in the E46 generation M3 is an extremely pure driving experience
I still need to drive a Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, ive moved a Carrera GT around a parking lot
not actually driven it
918 Spyder will probably never happen 😔
ive only seen two
I will be sad when I sell this guy 😔
the design ethos of the old BMW's was so much better :C
why did all the companies have to go to shit
you buy a car with a Motorsports badge now and its not at all what the old cars are like
old M3's were just a vessel for the engine
high output engine designed for a pure performance standpoint in a chassis optimized for handling and top speeds
Tbh the new ones aren’t that far off tho
now its just like. yes what flavor of gaudy interior do you want attached to your overly soft "Motorsports" model
they have numbers but they dont have soul
I have driven a lot of vintage cars
they arent the best car, they have character
M140i is a fun car tbh
thats true
I would kill for one
dont believe they sold them in the US
we only got the 1M
Sometimes when I see mid 2000s or 90s bmw they look great
I’ve only driven one briefly to move it around and stuff when working
and the 1M is still MSRP
But damn I would not want to own one
can find them for 48-55k USD
Rip
Especially dealing with the tank I have
the M140i has the B58 iirc?
I used to work at garage where next door there was performance car dealer so we got a lot of stuff in like that
I bought my car from that place actually
It was a trade in for an m3
They’re not terrible in the UK
makes me sad how expensive they can be in the US
Tbf we get paid less here
yea UK car prices are weird
So it doesn’t even matter lmao
a BMW Z4 is way cheaper than in the US
but in the US they can be just as cheap depending on where you are at
where I live car prices are just higher
despite the income not being higher
its just goofy
A 1999 3 series is $2500 where I’m at
the UK just sounds expensive if you arent living next to a horse farm
I have a friend in the UK who lives on a horse farm
Main issue no passenger seat
I’m from the south east near London so like
E46
Money
the E46's have one MASSIVE issue
Chassis is TOO stiff
so the rear subframe shakes itself apart
When I get a new car I need smth still practical
if the subframe is cracked, it starts cracking the actual chassis
oop
Bmw go for cheap here but down side barely any mechanics that deal with German cars here
What
idk why people wont deal with BMW"s
older BMW's are easier to work on than american cars
cause uh
they were all designed for one engine size
instead of 2-4 engines per american model cause yes
because german cars are way over engineered and they put plastic everywhere
very few american cars dont have multiple engines being chucked in
E46 only ever got variations of the M54/S54
If it’s a good mechanic they should be able to work on anything anyway
Anything new is kind of ass
like E46's are dead ass easy to work on
GMC Chevy and Cadillac oh you can find 8 mechanics in a short walk
There’s just less space to work in on newer cars
pull off the engine fan and now you can do every single job on the car
Yeah but like a mechanic is kind of shit if they can only work on 2 manufacturers cars
rebuild your engine for like 600 bucks cheap
I can go to any autopart store and they will have new parts for my 1990 rofl
It’s more like American and Japanese cars mechanics are I. A surplus here
and then its the other way in europe
European lul
I got VW parts so everything is cheap asf
walk into any store and they have BMW/Mercedes/Ford parts
Yeah but like why tf do u have country of origin specific mechanics
A mechanic should just be able to work on cars
They do work on every car it’s just cost you a lot more
That’s just weird
would you rather hire a plumber to fix your plumbing or hire a "jack of all trades" person to do it
idek how audi made the worst timing chain ever when Porsche had a better V8 AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. AND THEY BOTH COST THE SAME TO PRODUCE.
That’s not at all the same lmao
and then the Porsche engine weighed less etc etc
people who specialize in german cars is more keen to its flaws
It’s like would u hire someone who only works on toilets or would u hire a plumber
nah it is here
german cars arent nearly as popular here either
they are mostly all luxury cars
and most people lease them and service them at the dealership
The analogy was just bad
in the US, most mechanics pride themselves for working on a singular brand or like they just work on GM's
That’s just a pain in the ass
Pretty much yeah
that being said
@deep sapphire the best Porsche shop in the country, Calus Rennsport, is ran by Cadillac techs and Buick techs lmao
a mechanic will work on anything, but you dont bring an audi to a chevy dealership to have them work on it that would be stupid
Calus Rennsport is honestly so awesome, I wanna go back
Honestly tho in my town if you can’t work on American cars especially trucks cause there’s a huge Takuache culture in my town
Dealership mechanics are often not as good as independent places anyway
Tbh
U only use them when ur covered for free
Callas Rennsport has Porsche 911R 001
it all depends, I normally agree but dealer techs usually get access to training and will have experience with the newest vehicles as they will get warranty service etc
It’s normally not like rocket science to figure out what to do on any new car anyway
one of the few that wasnt crashed
yea with cars you have two sides
mechanical and electrical
But yeah European car mechanics are rare in my town
mechanical is easy across almost all brands, with the exception of complex systems like AWD, DCT's and certain differentials
Garages here that aren’t the dealer will do anything
It’s just a matter of who does it well
Electrical requires an entirely different mind space and set of skills
Yeah I wouldn’t wanna deal with it
cause an electrical problem can be as easy as a blown wiper motor that is always on and drains your battery
but you have to figure that out
The place I worked at did it but I’ve got no idea about it personally
It’s why my cousin traded in their volkswagen for a Chevy suv just easier to maintain
I wouldnt say its easy, like sure anyone can take bolts off and put them back on but if its covered in abunch of other shit that has to come off to do said part
then its annoying
yes
It depends how good ur memory is
its easy with introductory knowledge and basic know how with tools
Based Chevy
you can still do things wrong
If it’s ur full time job u should be good to disassemble and put it back together
I hope
like pull apart a differential and put it back together wrong lol
RIP
this is why god invented yellow paint pens
to check gear contact
I dont know differentials HANK
There’s a Chevy Cruz hatchback for sale near me was tempted to make an offfer
thats above my PAY GRADE
I know rebuild CV axles and EAT HOT CHIP and LIE
Accurate, just get good.
I was gonna buy the higher trim level body panels for my car but they’re like expensive still
dont
I cba
heres the rule of thumb with GM
also if u need someone to rebuild vintage porsche axles im ur guy
I rebuilt around 100~ish at my last job
Aight the Chevy rep of the discord has spoken
I had a day where i spent 8 hours at our press just pushing CV's on and off
it was agony
Thanks Hank
the cruze is a piece of shit
unless its a Ford and then you just dont buy
Aight
Most American cars are pieces of shit tbh
whats the super tiny car Chevy built
if its a Silverado or Tahoe or something those are usually safe
I was mostly looking at Subaru and Toyota for my next car
original take
I had a friend with one and they said it was fantastic
It’s true
Some are
everything is so heavily automated
going off numbers
and the reason the cruze was such a piece of shit was because the engine (which was made by opel) was prone to cracking manifolds and leaking coolant
and the turbos were tiny
Ford Europe has always been so much better
and gunked up easily
yea idk
cause pickup truck
Eco boost engine is special
the Coyote 5.0 is a good engine
we love ecoboost
we love how it literally over heats the studs and causes them to crack
most ecoboosts have problems at the 100,000 mile mark
Shh
It’s good
Ford be like
Damn yall just reminded me I need to do an oil change
I had top pull so amny exhaust manifold studs for ecoboosts when I worked at the ford dealer
it had to be at least 20% of the parts sales
and that place is the largest ford parts warehouse on the west coast
I’ve been putting it off for a bit
I only realised like a month ago the battery in my car was the wrong size and that’s why it would never start properly
Why’re people so cheap when they sell cars
Honestly
they are flipping it
tbh
U save maybe £20
On a car ur selling for like £4K anyway
so simple
Fuel economy
like on god, an old old civic is just a great car
My $8 a gallon
they can become total money pits though
true
unless you plan on going all out
there is a big gap in vintage cars tho
its not economically viable
like an old Mercedes? parts are expensive but actual failure is very low
I’m just hoping I get a good raise over the summer
the 500E Hank
age will kill anything
I WANT A 500E!
does it have plastic?
I might buy something for CarPlay tbh it’s like £200 for modernisation
its gonna age
And take advantage of the graduate special and toyathon
Not having BT in my car is just annoying
the Mercedes 190E as well
And I don’t need to get in trouble for using my phone for satnav
that car somehow is better built than any new mercedes
and it was the economy mercedes
its got a false floor
1400kg somehow
Yeah
I would do so much for one of these
The 500e is such a weird car
Getting a vintage truck here is cheap and reliable
🤤
I want an NA1 NSX but I also don’t want to spend £85k for a manual ever
the 500E is a top of the line luxury sedan tuned by Porsche
so it uh
rips
faster than the RS2, M3 and M5 of the time
cause fat V8
iirc the 500E was the fastest production car in a straight line when it came out
cause 4 speed attached to a V8
The rs2 and m3 would also be considerably lighter no?
yes
So depends what u want
Yeah I mean I don’t think they’re meant to compete with each other tbf
believe they were the same price point
they werent meant to compete but they were both refined by Porsche

500E doesnt take corners as good as an RS2
RS2 just has porsche suspension and brakes all 4 corners
the brakes even say Porsche on them
I don’t think so
Think the 500e was quite a bit more
500E was 81k once imported in the US
believe it was much less in europe
they didnt sell the RS2 in the US
Yeah the rs2 was like 50k wasn’t it
The US doesn't get nice cars, only dickass trucks
Because they weren't usdm to begin with
3/4 cars in my driveway at home are German here lol
Only one family member has American
also yes the 500E smokes the M5
M5 Touring
comparable in weight
Just how fast was the fastest sedan in the world in 1992? The legendary Porsche-built Mercedes-Benz 500E races the fastest wagons in the world: the E34 BMW M5 Touring and the Audi RS2 Avant, which was also built by Porsche!
=
This episode is presented by Valentine One Radar Locator: Find radar before it finds you https://bit.ly/Valentine1_Hage...
American cars have fallen so far behind
Comparable in weight but not necessarily the actual competitor
true
The lighter one is faster
the difference is that the 500E wasnt sold on its performance alone
And I feel like that’s a mroe direct competitor to the 500e than the rs2 is
Just get an American v8
It was probably more fun around a track but not as a daily
the E34 M5 is pretty good
also the M5 has always had more comfort
M3 is as raw as you can get usually
ooo
what was the special UK only TT they sold
it was the first gen one
TT Quattro Sport?
I did think it would be funny to get one of the mk2 TT engines and put it in my car but the cost of everything involved would be
Horrible
Something like that
yea ppl over here make replicas of the TT Quattro Sport
The second generation TT RS is one of the best looking cars they’ve made imo

I feel like TT's are underappreciated
they also didnt really sell that well in the US
Such a cool car tbh
so they are proper expensive still
finding a 2nd gen TT is hard, finding one reasonably priced is impossible
Audi before it became the dick brand
U can pick one up for not all that much too
yes
the TTRS was still a pure sport car
lightweight, no compromises
only 10k pounds?
yea still
The new one is obviously more
Yeah they’re actually good value here
Which is why I want one lmao
I don’t think there’s a better option for that price
The audi casually parked in front of a frigging manor archway
UK shit
Fr
An m3 would actually cost less I think
But boring
this is more interesting imo
Atl in the UK
E46 M3 market
I can get a current TTRS used for that
the uh
Audi TT just didnt sell that well in the US
yea
Where the fuck does all the money go since everyone gets paid shit
average price in Utah is around 20k for an E46 M3
Mine was 3.5k
I got it cause it was posted for months and the seller slowly dropped it
But they go for like 5-7
social services or something
You'd think you get it back in quality public services and yet
oh and russian oligarchs but I didnt say that lest I be hunted down and shot by said oligarchs
hey man they got a functioning transit system
that isnt poorly designed
But no
that says a lot
We do not
This is true
Everyone knows oligarchs don't eliminate dissidents, they pay government officials to do it for them 👍
We do actually have trains atl
And technically the doctor is free even if I have to wait 7 hours
Man I wish I lived in the US looking at nsx prices tho
Acura ones seem to go for like 50-60 over there
ok heres the thing about the NSX
it costs more to own than a Ferrari
by a large margin
massively large margin
insurance is more
The NA1 is
parts cost double ferrari parts prices (insane)
80k+ here
yea
damn just saw that new iPad Pro thats thin af
Like why
Honestly much more interesting than a Ferrari fr
set it out on a hot day on an uneven surface and its warped
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
there are ferraris at the same price point I would much rather have
308GTB
It is tho
360 Modena
I dislike both
If I was buying at that price point I’d get smth else
The iPad fold
a chevy 1500 pickup has more character than an NSX
The new type S is even more boring than the original
You're holding it wrong, it's supposed to be bent 25 degrees
yes which is insane
The original is actually interesting
Honda internally acknowledged why the NSX failed
yes
It failed to be bought but people who drove it praised it
ye
same people who praised it also said it just... wasnt as exhilarating as a Ferrari
No one wanted it but was a great car
Taking from his years of experience working on cars the CAR WIZARD 🧙♂️ shares the top Honda's TO buy and NOT to buy!

the new acura nsx is a terrible value
I don’t think I’d take any Ferrari over it tbh
No one
The old one was too lmao
tbh
The old one is a great car tbh
car prices in the 90's and early 2000's were insane
Shitters who have lots of money and grew up seeing the og nsx in gran turismo
a brand new M3 costs less than the E46 did brand new accounting for inflation
Owning a Ferrari is honestly the most basic choice anyway
When u have that money
Except maybe buying a 911 now
well you can get a Ferrari and not be a millionaire
The flex is a rolls or an Aston Martin
C5 Z06 in yellow with black interior, 6MT
the ultimate drivers car
I like the4 C6 Z06 more
THATS a car with character
LS7
If I had an unlimited budget would still get the NA1 nsx before anything else
I’ve never seen the type S or whatever anywhere
The new type s?
this makes me feel things
If I could only have one car I probably would but like if I can afford that I can probably afford a daily
I mean more that if I wanted a super car to daily, I would want something so insanely eye catching it breaks necks constantly
Original Japan only one
I would prefer everyone just ignores my car's existence
nah im driving the F50 everywhere
Yeah it’s also like how tf will u even find one kind of car
Do not perceive me or my wheels
And how much would it cost

There’s only a few hundred of them
sound burger LOL
iirc the Type S is around 150k USD to 200k
cause there are some very desirable specs
Or whatever
Still reasonable ig
dank pods posting we stan
U could buy a GT3
a Lightweight costs a million dollars tho
Idk the semi realistic goal is to have the type R atl
I doubt I’ll see enough money to ever get the type S
or you could buy one Porsche 587/1 F1 engine
True
the engine they used in the 60's F1 and the 356 Carrera 2
4 cam flat 4
literally barely any power compared to today
but the engines are so rare they cost half a million usually
believe they had 3 iterations of it
587/1 through /3
The 944 and 924 are cool
if I had a milion dollars I would buy the 6GT
If I had a million dollars I’d buy 5 nsx type s
The "this is actually useless but it's history" is pure collectors territory, would not waste half a million dollars on a car I can't use
very few cars worth excessive amounts of money are bad cars
Isn't the 944 the cheap one?
944 was cheaper than the 911 yea
it was a superior car tho
the only thing that gimped it was power
I used to see 944s going for like $4k used lmao
it had better handling and road holding tho
they still do, non running
the coolest cheap Porsche you can buy is a 924S
Porsche had left over bodies from the 924 when the 944 started production
so they put detuned 944 engines in the 924 body and created a 924S
so you get the better engine in the cheaper to maintain body
even with VW Transporter suspension, the 924 was on par with the 911 in terms of handling because of Porsches suspension and chassis design
What if I just wanted the chassis to electrify
not even joking
it had VW bus suspension
and it drove as good as a 911
or uh if I had 500k to a million dollars
a 924 Carrera GTS
the 924 Carrera GTS used a wide body
said wide body was so good Porsche went "what if we continued the 924 but with a better body that used the wide body fenders"
and so we got the 944
also the 944 had to be made cause Porsches contract with audi for the engines was running out
and Audi wasnt going to make any more of the engine
the whole 924 and 944 story is very interesting
Vaporwave car
924 was designed for Audi via VW but then VW scrapped it, Porsche bought back the rights for the 924 for like 10 million DM which was an insane amount of money back then
924 was fantastic despite being a reskinned VW parts bin car
Is that during the gamma squeeze on vw?
944 was the further evolution with a porsche designed 4 cylinder
U know what would be cool to buy if u had money is that final edition r8 they made for end of production
Lmao
idk anything about VW history
That final edition was cool af tho
I just know the stupid Ferdinand guy sucked at designing cars hence he stole the Type 1 design
The stupid Ferdinand guy also sucked at designing tanks
hence why Henschel won every contract
All I know about vw and Porsche is that there was some stock fuckery that gamma squeezed vw prices like gme
his son, the other Ferdinand guy, was so good at designing stuff he actually got designs approved!
he designed the 911 so
yea, the R8 was cool period
the TT and R8 are like
some of the biggest outliers to come out of Ingolstadt
When audi was aspirational instead of expensive vw
I despise the mk1
you telling me the same people who designed the A4 designed the TT and R8?
I love the Mk1 R8 and TT
Audi a2:
Most beautiful car ever
oh yea I forgot
It looks like a frog
me when the 500SL and the 500E both used the V8 out of a fucking Sauber race winning twin turbo 1000hp V8 race car
its literally the exact same block

Mercedes-Benz M119HL 4,973 cc (5.0 L; 303.5 cu in) 90° V8 Twin KKK Type 27 Turbos
Actually that’s a lie Mitsubishi make great toasters
This is my reality so I wouldn't buy one of these super cars
Mazda doesnt do anything other than the MX5 but also Mazda makes impressive commuter cars so they doing they own thing
What am I going to do with it, look at it sitting on the street?
Isn’t there funny new Mazda sports car coming
yea, its probably gonna be very expensive
and not sell well
I think its potentially gonna be a GT-R fighter
front mid engine three rotor hybrid is what the patent was for
Taking a page from Mary ybarra's book
yes
Make a new damn car
Nissan ran out of money
Nissan ran out of care lmao
Nissan don’t make anything cool now either tbf
the new Fairlady is just a modified 370
and the new Fairlady is very expensive compared to other cars
The 400 would’ve been nice if it didn’t cost so much
They haven't made anything good since renault
It’s just way too expensive
it offers literally nothing over other similar sports cars
The Silvia is probably the last good nissan
you can buy an old Aston Martin and its higher performance and the same price to maintain cause its volvo parts
DB9 gang
The Volvo s60 is surprisingly spicy in t8 trim
Nissan doesnt have any money to make an interesting car
idk how Nissan fell off
Yeah I mean that’s cool but it’s not interesting
Imo
It’s like
Ehh
Nissan fell off by making garbage cars and only selling them to people who cant pay them off
that thing is actually a ripper
They merged with Renault and that was ripperoni
It’s fast but like it’s not exciting in any way
Nissan Sentra
Volvo just make nice cars but they’re still boring
the freeway missile for the masses
Sentra nismo
Plus the ceo of Nissan stole money from the company lmao
thats heat
He's still on the run last I heard
It's for dads whose wives won't let them buy a gtr
It’s so ugly
The juke is literally a focus group car, they wanted a counterpart to the rogue that appealed to men because the rogue primarily appeals to women
I don’t think the juke appeals to anyone with eyes
I kind of like it
Well, Nissan isn't known for good decisions
TRUE
I wonder if they ever caught ghosn lmao
the Volvo V60 Polestar was funny cause it had an inline 6 from strut mount to strut mount
I seen after market juke that was rallified

Fuck Volvo
Literally smuggled himself out of Japan in a fucking suitcase like weekend at Bernie's lmaooooo
wasnt half the shit he did also not real
I remember seeing that the JP execs were trying to find a scape goat
Probably, seems like something they'd do
and so he ended up getting a bunch of shit thrown at him and 99% conviction rate in japan happened
basically no investigation, they went right to trying to find a way to get him to admit to a bunch of stuff that he may or may have not done
The police in the UK have the v60 t8 now
yea
Kind of crazy
