There is 100% clear limits in the spec sheets.

The answer here is that the defaults are WAY out of spec for the spec sheet limits.

In my case, the PCIE <-> PCIE switch is shot on my chipset, so that's just me losing the silicon lottery.

Nominally, I've worked out a multi-stage step away from this to allow for a 1:many mapping, then allowing either access to "slots" or rebinding per server which char you want. Haven't decided which yet, there's a bunch of assumptions in the code base, but I did a bunch of tear out last year to start giving us the abstraction needed.

Oh yeah, the issue is changing all the commands and handling the roll over, it’s on the todo, but the current 1:1 map is deeply embedded in his code

Essentially, kupo was never designed for alts, so none of his commands are designed to consider an alternate character map

He was designed with the very reasonable expectation that people wouldn’t have more than one character imo

That need has changed, but his code base needs an overhaul to catch up

When I had to deal with this problem, we ran into ~40-50% of our spam being fully automated accounts using cycled phone numbers on the big residential proxies, so they're hard af to block in general, but they're not willing to shove cash into the platform, so you end up with a group of spam that can be effectively blocked with a second tier verification, be that cash or ID.
