I just got the Logitech G512 Carbon GX with the brown Switches the other day and I absolutely love it. I play FF14 using a gaming laptop and the switch is massive. The logitech keyboard is a lot better than the laptops keyboard.

there were a few alienware cases that were actually decent but even then i'd rather deal with almost anything else

i was around for those, but we couldn't afford a new computer at that time. when I was 9 my dad finally brought home my first computer - one that was junked from work xD

was an old 286

both were older than I was, but I was so excited about it XD

got a serial 33.6 "56k upgradeable" modem as a christmas present 😄

and it was more than just at home. Like my first experience in school with computers was apple IIes they took us to play with in kindergarten through like 3rd grade

around 3rd they started getting mac LCs and 5200 LCs at that

these things running printshop pro and kidpix lol

idk it's funny, computing was being used seriously for businesses but there was a lot of novelty to it as well

like businesses definitely used them to write documents and do record keeping, but the records were kinda fragile and often like

I remember this all the way up until the 2000s lmao. Would go to a dr's office and every few years you'd walk in and they had all new computers... and made you fill out a new patient form all over again because they LOST ALL YOUR INFO

there was also that weird nonsense time where everyone seemed to switch from using wyse terminals to full blown desktops for things like CASH REGISTERS for no reason

and suddenly everything was slower and more prone to errors

and they stopped training their new employees on how to use their database system because "you know computers, right?"

though as I recall, the dmv still used the old system server, it's just they replaced the wyse terminals with windows machines that ran a terminal app lol

i feel like eventually we did go back to that though

or at least the hardware became cheap and simple enough it feels similar to how wyse terminals did

Sorta? You could define most webapps like that in a way.

It's not nearly as clean a a proper terminal setup w/ limited UI/UX/etc, but it's still a central server you're interacting with for the most part. 😄
