yaaaaa
that's fine
MSI memes
I knew it lol
it's fine, I've benchmarked those cards they can get loud as shit
It doesn’t break 65°C under load.
And even at 1080p ultra, Cyberpunk is a whopper of a game.
I just know that those cards go cray
I like it.
My little rig runs everything. Ryzen 5 4500, 3060 and 32GB RAM.
Wait, is that considered a little rig?
mines probably much smaller and have more power so
mines sub 9L
That's another case solved
fans not plugged in
I've gone around to liking the stupid fucking discord forums, really helps out keep track of thinfs
I love my PC... I bought a Series X but wound up going back to my PC for some reason.
lmfao Hank jfc
How does that card even connect to the motherboard?
PCI-E
I don't see a PCI-E attachy-thingy in the picture.

its on the other side
I ask because all the pictures make it seem like a solid block and I can't see the PCI-E attachy-thingy in them.
im not a cook sorry
Goddamn that is a chonker of a GPU
it sure is
its way overbuilt too
because this thing never gets above 60
they should really reduce the size of the card lol
I have one of those big-ass Deepcool coolers on my CPU.
pretty good for the price
I rage quit with my last PC because I had one of those stock Wraith Stealth coolers that was impossible to bolt down properly.
fuckin AMD stock coolers are the worst
they havent changed the mounting hardware in 20 years
I owned an old socket 939 setup
My PC started to cook basically. I was staying at 94C idle.
I've only been building since 2007. Socket 939... You mean like single core?
I think I had an AMD Athlon Venice in my first rig.
yup
my first build had an Athlon 64 2200+
First rig was that, a 9600 GT and 3GB RAM I think? And it still refused to run Black Ops 1 because it was single core.
Second rig was 1050TI, 8GB RAM, and an i5. Last one was a 2070, 16GB RAM and a Ryzen 5 2600. Now I have 32GB RAM, a Ryzen 5 4500 and a 3060.
Well, second's initial build was a 750 but I bought a 1050 to play DOOM 2016.
I actually had a 7600GS in my first rig to start, but my ex-stepdad gave me a 9600 GT for some reason.
thats good
my memory sucks I feel like im genuinely gonna end up with alzheimers in my 50s LMAO
thats only 3 years away
I remember my first build like it was yesterday.

its all over for me
deletes message whats all over for you?
why be a gamer if you dont have a 4090/s
I'm happy with 1080p ultra.
ya I dont think I see my 4090 go above 60 C for long ever
sitting in limsa (yes I get it its ffxiv) its only at 43c LOL
H I G H R E S
Yeah I miss the old xlr8 logo
sigh. people debating AI on hackernews
Modern Luddites can go back to churning their own butter.
We're going to have incredible Pixar/Disney/Ghibli-beating animation tools within months. Creatives stuck in low-autonomy roles in the Hollywood studio system can finally break out on their own.
The ~1500 domestic productions per year (and ~15 tentpole productions per year) will balloon out into the long tail of fulfilling every interest. That furry steampunk vampire creator can satisfy his or her audience, meanwhile you can have all the 1950's Asimov content your heart desires.
That dude is drunk on AI kool-aid
you probably could do away with sweatshop frame-by-frame animation but that's mostly been gone for years anyway i think
Manual frame by frame animation still does exist but nowhere near what it was in the past in terms of labor
I don't know where these cryptobro turned AIbro fucking idiots are getting the idea that ml algorithms can generate new and novel content like contracting a real person
so mappa DOESNT draw 3 million frames every episode?

Nowadays they like print each individual scene using software and stuff
I suppose if you consider a remix "new content" then yeah, ml will make new studio ghibli videos faster than miyazaki can, provided you wanted a sequel to kiki's delivery service
Not like the days where it would be done by hand
Isn't that why anime pioneered the three frame animation?
random blast from the past lol
Phones were small before people figured out you could watch porn on them
-looks over at foldable phone-
Ahh, pornography- driving technological innovation.
It really does lmqo
The reason betamax failed was because Sony didn't license it to porn companies in the early 80s
Humanity will sail the stars in its pursuit of tiddy.
Yeah
When humans make first contact with an alien species, there will be a gathering of the greatest minds of the human race
Someone will turn to someone else and ask "can we fuck it? If not, can we eat it?"
Member when phones first got 5 inch screens and you were like wow this is huge!
Then a few years later they had to increase the size of the Samsung Note bc the regular Galaxy phones were within .2" of the same screen size
The last truly great mobile size was the zune hd
That's pretty much what every animal does when presented with something
the "can I eat it?" bit specifically
Omg lol
Hahhahahquqhqyq
This dude covered up the menu TV prices with tape
I would love to know what happened lol
I just want to read mangas with it haha, mine currently is too small sometimes I have to squint (pixel 3a)
but it will be a while till I upgrade since this phone is still going strong
my previous phone just died on me, everytime I charged, the charging is always pop charging error
I like large phones lol
I also got quite big hands and really thick fingers
So it’s more comfortable
They got destroyed by the Hut
Those pizza no more
so here's the weird thing. I have small hands and like my fold4 because... if I can't use my phone with 1 hand I might as well have a giant screen lol
but also
when it's folded shut, I can reach across the narrow outside screen with my thumb lol
Yes
just add some plastic fish and it'll be fine
ye
Simplest answer is: food cost inflation has been crazy the last couple years, so they probably couldn't afford to keep updating all the signs every 1-2 months.
So some of the pizzas that didn't sell well and had expensive ingredients that would rot and get thrown out were taken off the menu, and overall the prices have changed too much/often for them to bother with prices on that board anymore
Have you worked with any 4080 super models yet?
a few, but not many
any standouts in build quality so far from what you have worked with?
hm, PC desk models I found either has curve on the back or a hole on surface to cater cables
which one would suit a monitor arm better? 🤔
Generally nowadays any IKEA table or desk are nice
A rectangular shape, no weird shape
"I Kill EA" desks are nice 🤔
For cable, you can just saw a little bit at the back just enough to place cable against the wall
It doesn't need a dedicated hole heh
I want one like shape like this
the leg or the tip of the leg?
Plywood is mad strong in most thicknesses, but I wouldn't trust MDF that thin
Sawdust and glue don't make great structural material
which one would be waterproof better? 🤔
Avoid this bruv, get the IKEA one, last forever
what is IKEA one?
Lagkapten I think
I mean, what is IKEA? a brand? I make it myself?
Nani, where do you live
Yeah, a brand
If you tell me where do you live, I might be able to look for alternative brand
There should be one in each country
be careful with the cheap IKEA ones, they're sometimes cardboard inside and weak af
But generally I just use IKEA as standard lol
Vietnam lol
for $3500 you can get shinigami eyes for pasta
↘️ Quoting Joey Banks (@joeyabanks)
This was the first frame from an Apple Vision Pro review that made me believe we’re all going to be using and leaning into spacial computing soon enough. It always comes back to timers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xI10SFgzQ8
Wot, why 1 star rating
Diy isn't big there?
Viet here
We don't have IKEA officially
Ye DIY isn't big here
At worst peep would commission woodworking workshops
What the heck
well you can order a customized one 🤔
Good to know
look at kitchen/dining tables too, I've used those before
Ya better ask the workshop for custom order
Actually that is kinda worse
Dam, do they have safety standard?
N O P
I'm too reliant to IKEA, lol
what you can't get those either?
The best option is asking for a DOOR and use it like a table
Bc doors here are sturdy lol
tks Optimum Tech for that tip
it does sound like paying a guy for a custom build desk/table is the way to go if it's affordable
^
at least that way you get the exact size you want
Like ngl the custom route works better than IKEA route
A lotta household don't have decent tools just to assemble the IKEA stuff
well, used to be my plan last year. just change the measurement to 120x70x70, no wheelies 🤔
well we DO have sorta knockoff IKEA-inspo stuff on shopee or whatever but srs don't trust em
also, rubber tree wood/natural wood or whatever it means
better don't you'll need a company with reputation that adhere with the country safety standard
What safety standard
not random ebay stuffs
Most workshop commission stuff are somewhat decent, better than rando ebay
Tho kinda a bit rando depend on how the carpenter would improvise
It's a bit hit or miss at least in my city
people do overthink desks a lot, it's just a flat slab of wood with legs, if it's sturdy and level and the right height, gg
Eh I wish I don't overthink the desk since my desks aren't comfy, one is wobbly as hecc and another is tricky to sit w office chair
Ya that should be fine, just make sure that the metal frame is well stabilized
17mm natural wood for the surface. Not too thin?
Hol up
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1074128910691319/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Acae0167d-67c6-43a6-896b-984ca9617540 there's a popular IKEA table here
IKEA copy or?
Ikea copy fr
3.4cm thick
17mm is tiny and will probably not be thick enough if you ever decide to get a monitor arm or similar
get 3.5cm thick if you can
i think 2.8cm is like the average in most cases for proper tables. thicker exists but is usually also a lot more expensive
unless you get something from ikea which is literally just cardboard honeycombs inside

wait, that's an ikea?
😱
I even use my 8nm DD wheel and dual monitor clamp
and no problem so far
yeah ikea tables are literally this
the clamp sinks in?
fine for most stuff still, but yeah. not solid at all
ic ic, I never knew, I guess I'm one of the lucky one 😂
some people just get a thin board or metal sheet to put between the clamps and the table to give it a bigger surface area to spread the force on
nice idea
add another honey comb under the clamp

I fell foul of that ikea carboard shit some years back, I had a curved desk and bought a small ikea desk to cut and try to attach and make it a corner desk and it was a fucking mess

i learned this the hard way too. i had a very wide desk from ikea and over time the tabletop just started bending downwards because of the weight of my screens and stuff
dam, is it because of the weather in US?
humidity in my room is like 40-60% all year around lol
it's like heaven for wooden stuff
60% year round :3
https://fxtwitter.com/tha_rami/status/1753052393242018000 oh here's some good news
ok, so we've made it through this one, to finish up the trilogy of rich people showing utter incompetence, what's coming after Metaversa / AI / ... ?
https://futurism.com/the-byte/ai-companies-lose-190-billion-dismal-google-report
nah ikea is just badly built
I heard in the US, if you own a guitar, you'll need a special cabinet and dehumidifier that checks out the temperature etc lol cause wood bends
ic ic
or rather, there is a reason why ikea is cheap and affordable
No
I do have a humidity pack for my acoustic
My electrics just stay in their cases fine
ah yeah, but it's a hassle to put a guitar in a case everytime
Plenty of people just hang their guitars too
I like to keep in cases because I’m clumsy
tbh no matter where you are, humidity changes and temperature changes will move the wood, thats just how wood is
and thats why you just have to take care of it
entropy is not an american invention
Maxwell was Scottish
dam good to know, I'll do those preventative measure to prevent it bending, been good 2 years now
something like this yeah? https://youtu.be/TB3kPZZemMU?si=dVlBKxWsMoNoqFPV&t=421
In this video, I show you what happens with a dual monitor mount attached to an IKEA LINNMON tabletop/desk after 2 months. It does not perform well, and if ignored and not reinforced, will end up costing you some serious cash when your monitors fall down. It's a great desk, don't get me wrong, but you get what you pay for! You can find all th...
ye can help
ty ty
I put a piece of wood between my desk and the base of my monitor arm for my heaviest monitor
My desk is just already quite thick
another advantage of that is that it also slightly increases the base of the monitor arm, giving you more space to work with
And nothing heavy is on the part where my legs go
if were still talking ikea me and my wife have the sitting/standing desk , non electric an it fits my case 27" and a 24' monitor fine
my IKEA has 3 clamps 😂 I think I will need 6x solid wood for each clamp for top and bottom
I'm just worried that it will eat the table overtime hehe
It's fine in 1-3 years probably
i think its been three years now and showing no wear and tear yet
the top was pretty heavy which leads me to believe its not just that honeycomb stuff
thats what I also thought really, it was quite heavy 🥲
This is an older picture but even fully extended standing it is pretty solid and I think it was $200 CAD or maybe a little more
is that trotten?
TROTTEN Desk sit/stand, white, 120x70 cm Changing positions from sitting to standing is good for you, and the crank handle allows you to work your arms while adjusting the height. Moving your body makes you both feel and work better. Adjustable feet make the desk stand steady also on uneven floors.
yes i think so
and your securing things to teh desk via screws right>?
you mean with the 5 legs? yeah
nah i mean like accesories
table clamp
my clamp mount has 2 x 24, shown no wear so far, but I don't mind taking extra precaution
i think i have your exact ol;d ikea table, its currently in a other room being used for other crap lol its almost 9 years old

what do you think of alumunium instead of solid wood for the plate?
is alumunium or wood better?
as a table top or as a plate to slip between the clamps of something?
i'll always prefer wood. a properly sized alu plate would also be heavy as fuck
doesn't make sense, but wanted to make sure
ok
ill just ask those home depo shop here and make one, thanks
also must be timber or plywood is enough?
Plywood is pretty solid
I have no idea what to choose from 😂
ply can be just fine. it also depends on what you wanna do with the table.
Plywood is way fine, I literally said this like two hours ago lmao
We use 3/4" (19mm) plywood to hold up 450kg optical benches in our manufacturing area lmao
It creaks when you walk on it but it's been fine for 10 years
Engineered wood is designed to be dimensionally stable, it's why cabinets tend to be plywood boxes with fine wood doors
Osb is also pretty close to indestructible, most stick frame homes use it for subflooring
Is it possible to remote into my android phone via wifi?
as in, im too lazy to go check my phone for a photo
is there a way i can unlock and use my phone from my PC?
doesnt windows have some build in service to connect your phone?
because i'm that lazy
oh yeah, phone link
If you're logged in to Google on your phone, check Google photos
nah. i dont sync the photos
the one problem is that i need to reach over to install it into my phone now
so
HAHAHAH
ah well
i really am lazy lmao
well it wont work without actually accessing your phone at least once

no

A Japanese court has sentenced a man to death for the Kyoto Animation arson, which killed 36 people in 2019. It was Japan’s deadliest crime in decades, stunning the anime industry and its fans around the world.
Supp...
Kyoto Animation case

This isn't exclusive to IKEA, it's simply the issue with non-hardwood or "synthetic lumber" or w/e. Need to spread the weight out over a larger area. Same concept as snowshoes
Yeah... I'm just now getting the will to start watching KyoAni stuff again...
Someone at work was making fun of the KyoAni fire and I'm like.. Dude, the fuck is wrong with you? 36 people died because of this jackass.
I heard Japanese prison has a good reputation, learn Japanese for free and they teach you how to be a good citizens properly
and whoever comes out from there rarely commit crime again, and to receive death sentence just explained how messed up this person is
lost a lot of talented anime artists 😱
idk how good a prison can be that doesnt supply you with soap and gives you 15 seconds to shower every 2-3 days
no form of incarceration is good
well, there are some, but literally only exist in Northern Europe
and this? this is an issue
cause jp conviction rates are 99% or something ridiculous
its better to just say it was you rather than go through all the legal trouble cause they want the system to be as efficient as possible
Ace Attorney is partially a parody of the Japanese judicial system
Apple
I think they've been like that since forever 😂
https://www.androidpolice.com/google-assistant-driving-mode-shutting-down/ another one for the graveyard
Their legal system is infamously harsh
Only four developed countries still have the death penalty
(Some)US states, Japan Singapore and Taiwan
It's wild how the "law and order" countries also have the death penalty and such rigged efficient legal systems
Japan and Singapore both are "conform or die" levels of societal pressure
Singapore not allowing gum is by far the most insane thing ive ever heard, I get littering but throwing people in jail for weeks over chewing gum is insane
its delusional even
they still cane people
It’s very much still authoritarian, though not nearly as bad as other countries in the region
Not when they charged $1000 for a monitor stand?
they could come up with a bs reason
but this is just super blatant
they came up with a bs reason for 500 dollar roller wheels for the mac pro
Only virgin titanium milled by 72 virgins fed only grass-fed veal
so real
Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my CPU but here is my current build
CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3600 -- GPU 3060Ti --- Ram : 16GB --- PSU: 850w
Should I upgrade my CPU to the 5800x3D or 7800x3d?
That's an AM4 system so the highest you could do would be a 5800X3D.
The 7800X3D would require a new motherboard at the very least. And it requires DDR5 as well, so if you have DDR4 currently, that would also need to be switched out
That being said, the 5800x3D is pretty good
I'm excited to start getting the bobbins together for new build season
I think the 5800X3D is gonna be a top tier CPU for a while
the 5700X3D probably also will
kind of a weird SKU, slightly worse than the 5800X3D and I believe they said its just the chips that werent good enough for the 5800
I've said this multiple times, it's the 1080/ti of CPUs
shits gonna haunt me to the end of fucking time
for reals
We'll have to see what Intel has up their sleeve with 15th gen. Linus made an offhand comment the other week about seeing them and being super excited for it, so I hope it's not buggy af or something
Ive sold too many 5800x3Ds already
they are loose in the wild
My top two most sold CPUs in the recent year are the 5900x3Ds and the fucking i3 12100f
they will come for me in my sleep
there is no escape
why the i3 tho
I mean if for prebuilt office stuff, ye reasonable
the i3 12100f is amazing budget gaming cpu
98$ cad
will basically run anything at 1080 or even 1440p with a 6800
a lot of systems I sold recently was that combo
System Spec :
CPU : I3 12100f
RAM : 16GB DDR4 Bus 3200 (Single channel)
MB : H610M S2 DDR4
GPU : RX 6800 16GB
it cooks well.
I think my GPU might be dying 😭
its putting up a fight against youtube videos
but I haven't had issues with anything else yet so idk if my shit is just wonky
nuke your browser
I have a few times
its weirdly hitching frames and not loading
my internet is fine
I did have a random complete computer melt down a few days ago
whats ur gpu usage while watching a video
that was extremely scary
let me check el capitan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_VUrnGKeIs is this actually running on a phone
Death Stranding has been a game I've been very excited to test on the iPhone 15 Pro Max! However, a big question is can the iPhone not only sustain playable fps performance, but also tolerable heat. Or, will this demanding game turn your phone into a portable heater? Well, keep watching this video and all of your questions will be answered! Last...
it has to be cloud streaming or something right
my GPU is not changing at all in open hardware monitor
idk if it sjust not enough of a load or
my GPU is not reporting
AH it changed by 1 degree
i am but I am using ublock origin which didnt lag
the lagging issue was an update bug
its fine now
I did uninstal some old shitty MSi software that I had from my previous mobo...
maybe thats causing issues
not really......??
KojiPro had been working on porting DS onto iOS devices
but not entirely sure if it's cloud streaming or nawn
GameStop has their own SSDs now?
scary
it's probably just rebranded

this was one of the cheaper models
for some reason
even though it is good
the stuff in my case are all black
so this will contrast
but I was looking for a well made card
probably, but who knows
if someone gets their hands on one of those SSDs and takes a look then maybe we will
yeah, take those aliexpress unbranded electronics and rebranded it
many guitar pedals also works the same way, introduced as 'budget' stuff
then you realised many budget brands have the same products
Yes it is, but only iphone15 plus and above I think they said, and maybe the latest galaxy S24 as well.
It's not that surprising to me given the Steam Deck and ROG Ally exist
the thing is, Kojima himself said about DS on Apple tho
so I think it may be more or less Apple exclusive for a while
tho ofc android could pull that eventually
The game came out on PS4 originally so I can see it being tweaked it could run ... of course given they say it overheats like a mofo it probably takes it to its limit tho heh
ofc ya
not entirely sure hmmmm
at least kojipro opti for apple port so maybe they would port properly but then again it's JP dev game hmmm
eeeeee kinda hard to say until someone review it properly
The PC port of the game was solid
if you're using firefox and it's been open for most of the day, close and reopen it. there's a bug/feature with the way it caches streamed video
Im getting a new motherboard today and wanted to know a recommended thermal paste to get
I tend to get Noctua coolers even though they're a bit overpriced, and those come with a tube of thermal paste
I already have the nzxt x53 cooler
did it not come with thermal paste?
Oh the pc is already built im just getting a new motherboard
Arctic MX-4 or MX-6
can’t go wrong with them
ohh I see
I still like the old server rack/pizza box style cases- why don't we use them anymore?
A case like that.
ending dx9 support is brutal
now end PS4 support
Space and noise
Ps3 limitations, please understand
friendship ended with PS4 limitations, Series S limitations is now my new best friend
@real edge it finally arrived
enjoy it, you deserve it
go play every game maxed out at insane fps
(except for ray tracing)
I'm trying to convince someone on another server to get something that's not a 3060
I think it's a futile effort because they haven't brought up any use case they want RT on a 1080p card
I keep telling them "get the 6700XT" but it always comes back to RT
the 3060 cannot do ray tracing
or yeah the 6800XT
I can do ray tracing with mine
Ray traced shadows, maybe
I meant at like, a playable fps
But like
60
the guy wants to run Minecraft RTX on a 3060
you mean the gimmick version of minecraft?
have you showed them the techpowerup relative performance chart
mhm
LOL
every answer I get from them makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a spork
I'm convinved that they're convinced that Nvidia invented ray tracing
Because they keep talking about RTX and... not much else
THEY EVEN WANTED TO USE RT IN ELDEN RING TOO
Yeah except they're so bullheaded about wanting RT
RT barely adds anything and in some scenes it even makes it look worse
I know this because I tested it
game looks like shit already
personally
make it more muddy
oi
I even asked them about games that made heavy use of RT like Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk and all I got was silence
and I think that the Altus Plateau looks the same to a deutan as it does to someone with full colour vision
it's the yellow plateau around the big city
I can't make out half the textures there
Ik kan geen shit zien
my ass selling a 4090 to a 15 year old for Minecraft
but yeah
also the magic has a few different colours depending on what you cast
If you want a GPU for ray tracing but don't know what you want to use it for
then maybe don't
glimstone magic is blue
Minecraft runs on a potato.
gravity magic is purple
nah
holy magic is piss
Minecraft is one of the hardest to run CPU intensive games out there
it's fucking hilarious
modded makes Minecraft into a thermonuclear ram bomb
I forgot which one, probably a 3600
Then how does it run on a Switch?
that's not bedrock
I consider ray tracing an extra on the 4080super that I bought, maybe I will enable it to see what the fuss is about but I will disable it if it makes the game look the same at a heavy performance hit and since I have a 240hz display, I will be able to somewhat see the performance drop lol]
switch is the mobile version or the rewritten version iirc
ray tracing looks incredible in CP77
Not a lot of games make heavy use of ray tracing
1080p ray tracing in 2077 looks good.
unless it's Cyberpunk or Alan Wake 2
it also looks pretty good in hitman
I did hear that ray tracing makes you see enemies easier and better in darktide so that is interesting
probably a false rumor
I have my 1070 so I cannot test it
yeah that's a load of bunk
if you want to see enemies better get a higher resolution
I don't see how RT makes you see stuff better
and it certainly doesn't give you a gameplay advantage
I see
I am amused that a good 4070ti super model costs 950-980euro here but a good 4080super model costs 1200 at most
the cheapest 4080super model costs 1120 and its the shitty ventus
I didnt get a chance to check if it was
but something from newegg is sitting on my front porch when I left for school
how bad could it bed
god I should've avoided MSI in the first place
But I got an aero OC 4080super for 1200euro

I have an Asus GPU
I was tempted to get a Suprim X because I heard that the PCB was amazing
but was talked out of it
vomit
I ended up getting another 4090 but it was Gigabyte this time
gigashite my beloved lmfao
(it was a Christmas present too)
oh wait maybe my GPU is Gigabyt
I stan gigashitters
i forgor
terashits per gigafart
Im actually hoping that they sent me a 4070 super
I did request it, but didnt think they would send one
I dunno why but
I've had the best experience with Gigabyte products lately
Used to be Asus but they kinda fell off
asus strix is well built
but the TUF models less so
for the supers
the 4080super tuf asus has 12+2 vrm phase
which is meh
cheap-ish
asus
gigabyte gaming OC
Ive always had historical good experience with gigashart
so i recomend them a lot
TUF has a lot of coil whine
its
ARRRRRRRGH
thanks to you I got an aero OC lol
even if pcb does not matter much it feels safer having more phases
I just know they work lol
4 more for the gpu voltage and 1 more for the memory over the other MSRP/cheap models
for not much more cost
if the shitty ventus was 1130
Biostar is ass though. Got a board with a faulty DIMM.
don't think I've used one of those before lol
What’s the best PSU now that EVGA is gone?
I had a Corsair PSU last time. Wasn’t bad.
My top brands for PSU are be quiet, Silverstone and seasonic
corsairs I only use for budget because I have them fail occasionally
I've sold mostly bequiets that being said
thanks!
alternatively what sarah said. corsair is a bit iffy because they have some almost same-named models that are pretty different in quality though
like RM vs RMX
corsair green labels deserve to be legally labeld as a bomb ngl
Hippie van 2.0?
What if every game that supports DLSS 3 frame generation could work on RTX 20/30 Series GPUs? Would you need to upgrade your RTX 3080 for Cyberpunk 2077 RT Overdrive if frame-gen was available? That's the enticing opportunity offered by DLSSG to FSR3. This is currently an Nvidia-only solution that patches DLSS 3 frame-gen in all supported games,...
What gaming headset do you guys use?
The Corsair HS80 USB, HS55 and HS65 Surround are some of the best gaming headsets I've tested in 2022. They keep improving on price, performance and microphone quality...FINALLY.

I can vouch for them all
Ty! I’ll watch that now
those are the ones I rec to everyone here and the ones I sell to clients
is 9000dpi too much DPI for a mouse on a 27" display?
I’ve always been a fan of Corsair products honestly
Usually a bit costly, But the quality is there
this is actually the budget options really
I've always said that if you pay more, get a dedicated set up
Hopefully I can find a wired HS80 on sale. Its 99$ right now
because they are basically at the limit of USB mics
evga uses seasonic for the g6
but evga is frustrating because they have like 10 models and they all have different OEMs
be quiet psus are fancy af
are you talking about for your own build? Like... the machine that had a leaky AIO?!
as nice as they get really
lol no
remember my computers always are built from scraps
i used a corsair rm1000x when i got the 3080ti and it's been ok, but that's just 1 computer. sample of 1. xD
The first person to walk out of the Apple Store with their Apple Vision Pro gets a big round of applause 👏🏻
i assume corsair would be more popular for issues because it's a popular brand
LOL
time to go to macrumors and see how bad the koolaid drinking is
their green labels are bombs
lemme quote this dude
Again, what Apple are promoting with Vision Pro is something else entirely: an invention. It is a standalone AR computing headset, meant to be what comes after a laptop or even iPad. I wish them lots of luck. Ultimately, with Apple spending profuse amounts of money trying, for a change of pace, to be a pioneer, competitors are no doubt jotting down many notes to produce an iterative, popular successor.
it's the second coming of jesus. yours for just $3500.
oh also, it turns out
With Mac Virtual Display, you can use your Apple Vision Pro as a display that mirrors your Mac display.
Both devices must be signed in with the same Apple ID using two-factor authentication. Mac Virtual Display does not support Managed Apple IDs.
you probably can't use it with your work computer
I just want holographic keyboards and computer screens.
the future sucks tbh
Or a holographic TV so I can just mount the emitter on my wall without worrying about how heavy the thing is.
that said
if they actually stick to it and the tech advances nicely, it could be really awesome in 5-10 years
apparently the FOV for the AVP is 110 degrees
which is like
first gen HTC Vive levels
When does full dive become an IRL thing?
Ok, scratch that, I don't want full dive to be a thing if people like Kayaba Akihiko are in charge. I don't want a VR headset that can turn my brain into tater tots if I lose.
this shit is a cult
omw to buy a product I wont use more than once and its severely overpriced compared to direct competitors
I bought a used Macbook Air once and felt like an AppleDrone.
Probably bc they wanted the goggles part to be snug and formfitting, so they cut off your peripheral vision like a pair of ski goggles
So it's the same value per se as a 3yo card. Which sounds good until you realize things are supposed to get cheaper for the same price over time...
the thing is
GPUs have never done that aside from select eras
and even then not really like
take the GTX 280
to like
GTX 680
they never gave you the full die
and you still paid a shit ton of money
the GTX 280 was like 649.99
i gotta admit, the android+windows integration works about as well as the mac+ios integration lol
except for sending texts literally screen mirrors the text messaging app lol
if anyone know or know anyone that know how fix black sqaure flickering on screen, please direct them to my topic in tech support channel, i'm desperately need help
I've responded please check it out

Hello people, I have a question
I calibrated my monitor not using the msi osd, but a 3rd party app (novideo rgb) to apply an ICC profile and calibrate the gamma to sRGB
And it does work great
Problem is, I also use the monitor for my consoles, and this only works when my pc is turned on of course. Any way I can replicate the result even when my pc is turned off/calibrate the screen with the same setting definitely?
with most monitors, no.. there are a few that support updating a lookup table stored in the screen itself, like some LGs do that
interesting reading the feedback about apple vision pro on reddit lol
some people are having a better time
I'm really considering one lol
people are using it in the model hobby
just so we can have manuals up
Wait, so you can read the manual while you build gundams/models?
Couldn’t you get a quest for way cheaper and have AR
People be using them for DCS already
worse quality AR is the downside of the quest
still not sure if that justifies a 3500$ price increase
especially considering that apple headset is heavy, has a bad headstrap design and needs an external battery
the quest has much more latency then the vision
which is a huge deal breaker for AR
and for doing things like model making for example
Apple's screen quality is also apparently really really nice and bright
I'm just gonna get one second hand when I can and probably mod it if I can for the headstrap
Apple execs probably mad that Facebook was having success with VR
eh. they have been working on VR/AR for quite a few years now
and apparently they have no reason to be mad because alledgedly the 200k units they produced already sold out
Is the Valve Index with the goofy controllers still the best for gaming?
You can use the controllers with other headsets right? It’s not reliant on having an Index
still has one of the best FoVs and the only grip sensitive controller on the market really, but its big, needs a cable, needs external sensors and the resolution aint special anymore either
plus most big titles are all meta exclusives or PSVR exclusives
yeah as long as you use steamvr
That’s kinda nice
Yea I do not like the VR exclusivity stuff it’s kinda getting old
Cause there are games entirely kneecapped by the PSVR/Quest
Or they just don’t sell well
yeah you are kinda forced to get a quest if you want the fancy games, but then again its not like anyone else has a decent headset at a good price either on the market
Yea
I still don’t have a headset cause I just can’t justify spending money on it, I’d literally only use it for DCS lmao
Maybe I’ll get a quest eventually
its just annoying if you cant PCVR with some meta exclusives to get better graphics or something and some gamedevs even downgraded their pcvr versions to accomodate native-quest players
Wack
plus the quest also requires you to get an external battery pack for it, because the internal battery maybe lasts you for 1-2h of gaming
hell my quest 2 even goes down to 30% after 40min of browsing or watching videos
Wtf
its like 2 years old now and the battery isnt holding up that well anymore
Nah I’d need something with AR and the ability to be plugged in constantly
And being plugged in doesn’t cause the battery to shit the bed
you can plug it in, but then you are ofc again bound by a cable
I have an index I borrowed from school permanently.....
most people just buy third party headstraps since you can swap them easily, and they come with hotswapable batterypacks that also serve as a nice counterweight
I only use it for driving sim.....
assetto corsa was my primary use for my quest for a long time
school never asked for it back
I couldn’t do racing sims in VR
I just use trackIR
And normally I don’t even use it
it can be scary
but being an immersive weeb and driving a skyline through tokyo is neat
Fair
I’ve done lots of irl track driving
Sim driving is numb
Not being able to feel everything through the pedals is sad
can only go so far afterall. some people mod stuff to be more realistic but thats expensive
im fine with the wheel FFB going though the wheelstand and my loadcell pedals
Yea that’s fair
When I’m doing circuit driving I am using all the forces from the car, steering and pedals to drive
ACC does a really good job with the FFB cause you’ll feel a lot of the track
Also being able to physically feel G’s is another thing you won’t ever get in sim games
Cause I know the tires I’m on and I know the limit of grip
Just by the cornering force
yeah even the motion sims can only do little to simulate that
A FWD converted Audi TT Quattro won a pretty big endurance race in the US
I forget which one
But they removed the haldex system and just tuned the engine to the limit
First FWD car to win that race out of the 2+ decades of them running it
I like how there is nothing bad with FWD other than under steer but enough tuning can negate it mostly
The “FWD is bad” thing comes from the fact that it was cheaper to make cars with it but every desirable sports car remained RWD
Even in Forza FWD is complete ass.
Well yea it’s Forza
FWD does have issues but there are FWD civics that run faster lap times than million dollar plus purpose built GT cars
Yeah, I had a 2018 Civic R for my starter car and it handled like shit.
Most of the tracks in Forza 8 are F1 tracks- probably built for RWD cars I'd imagine.
You mean bad physics?
Forza horizon SUCKS at wheel racing if that's what you are talking about
Controller.
oh no clue then lol
I use a racing rig for most of my racing if I'm not doing it irl
Forza remains relevant because they add all the popular cars
Like I go flying off the fucking track half the time.
Literally half the people I have talked about it with said they only drive the super cars/bmw/JDM
I did one event in a Mclaren, another in a Hyundai Veloster, one in a BMW, uh... can't remember what else.
no FWD is bad because it understeers like shit and its a physical limitation on top of being severely limited by the power you can put to the steering wheels before they torque steer
a RWD car will always out perform a FWD car
I mean that’s not true
The Mk1 GTI was faster than every Ferrari road offering when it came out around a track
sorry guys
A well sorted FWD car can perform extremely well

hope he can find it
It’s why Civics still make world records purely FWD at world time attack
The limitation is how far you are willing to engineer a solution
Are there racing games with decent physics?
Depending on a lot of stuff
Forza 8 for as bad as it is has pretty good physics
Yes, Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione
Competizione specifically has the best out of a newer game
@lament pine
Do you need a sim rig to play that?
nno
You don’t need a rig, simple pedals and a wheel will do. Controller even works but it’s difficult
its intended for controller users but it has some wheel config stuff
bro it took me a second to find smh
I must be thinking of iRacing.

if you are still here
iRacing is kinda cringe
was the threads in existence two years ago??
It’s subscription based
which threads
I didn't think it was around then 0_0
FWD is ass
FWD especially good in rally
great for economy cars
thats it
the fact that the type R is the fastest FWD car period tells you enough
not to dog it, I like the Type R
but there are WAYYYY more RWD options
I miss my old Sebring cause I would rally it
It was great cause the bumpers were so soft you could pop them back out when they caved in
Rare Chrysler W
The Type R is the fastest full FWD car
But lots of FWD biased cars are faster, those with AWD
I wouldn’t count Haldex as a true 4WD system but a few of the Haldex specials out of Germany are proper fast
A few of the RS cars are
Can’t even get more than 50% of the power to the rear
you can if the front wheels come off the ground lol
most AWD cars are not FWD biased
Most aren’t no
They’re normally 30/70 or 50/50
Or they’re viscous fluid coupling or clutch based like Haldex
So cars can have different drive ratios?
Yes
Huh- didn't know that.
They should bring back direct drive
#952326072542847016 came a few months after I became mentor iirc
It should not be the top gear, instead let me have it instantly
yeah we added it because people were coming down here with issues and getting drowned out
huh
car talk in the tech channel
Fair enough
omw to buy a Mini GP and put a real dual clutch transmission in it cause it has a dinky outdated one
oh
The Mini GP is faster than the civic type r
That’s the only one that’s faster
For FWD cars
The Type R lap records got scrubbed cause Honda has been caught cheating twice now
They keep cheating by changing ratios and boost mapping
So their official Nurburgring lap records and other stuff got dinged
this guy basically summed what I was trying to explain earlier
source reddit ```I'm confused as to why no one has mentioned this:
RWD is generally considered better than FWD due to the fact that it separates the drive wheels from the steering wheels.
There's only so much grip a tire can afford before losing traction.
Coming through a corner with FWD, you will take a percentage of grip away from your ability to corner when you go to accelerate out of the turn. For example, if you accelerate exiting a turn, you'll more easily overwhelm your front tires' maximum grip, thus causing understeer. No one likes understeer.
With RWD, you'll have more grip available when accelerating out of the turn as the front grip being used to change your direction is not being taken from the same tire you're using to accelerate with. Your front tires are able to put 100% of their available grip towards changing the car's direction (after braking, and right as you pass the apex and get into acceleration), and the rear tires are able to put a percentage of traction towards following the front wheels as well as a higher percentage towards accelerating. There will be a higher amount of grip available to accelerate you from the rear tires here as those same tires aren't also being used to turn. Sure, your chances of oversteer are higher in RWD, but you can balance this a bit better and use the throttle to modulate rear slip to rotate the car (controlled, minimal oversteer without losing traction) for a faster exit than FWD.
Source: 18 years of daily touge driving in the central California mountains in RWD Nissans and various FWDs when the Nissans are broken lol```
ye
RWD is generally better
you do have less traction but that entirely depends on setup and tires
So the power is on one set of wheels and the steering is on the other?
there is a reason why in NASA they have FWD cars beating out trans am cars
for RWD yes
turning a an object that has lots of rotational force being applied is way harder than one that does not have a lot applied
its why adding big brakes to everything is not a good idea
you have less traction because you are trying to steer with the same tires that are putting the power down
messes with how the cars drive
thats a physical limitation you cant escape
not even a GT4 RS can break Cup 4R's in a corner
and have the same good tires
and I know that from experience
and have an edge
I hope we get a FWD car with all wheel steer soon
cause the Mini GP I drove had very little understeer
and a lot of the monster cars of the last few decades have had AWS
R34 GT-R Skylines turn scarily well at mid end speeds, Super HICAS helps a lot
mechanical AWS is fairly unreliable but EVs can do it easily so you will see it more on that
HICAS was cool but there is a reason they stopped making it
Porsche had some issues with AWS early on but now its pretty solid
plus there was a tendency for it to glitch out and randomly engage
yea
the first thing a lot of people who own GT-R's in the US do is delete HICAS
mostly because you cant buy the parts for it, and Nissan wont let US dealers import JP specific parts like Toyota does
you can go in with part numbers to Toyota dealers and buy Kei Car parts its very nice
oh neat the Lexus LC and LS 500 have an option for Dynamic Rear Wheel Steering
Building the ship of theseus one catalog line at a time

just have AWD drive here
Apple is selling a $300 USB-C dongle for its $3,500 Apple Vision Pro headset 🙃 https://t.co/SRQ9zcdXwY
And I thought the ZuckerGear was fleecing the fuck outta people.
Oh yea especially a car where all 4 wheels have their own motor
You can make the outer wheels spin faster on a turn lol
Quest headsets are affordably priced at least
I throw the electronics department sometimes- saw the prices on the Meta Quest and wanted to hurl. Like... $50 for the fucking charger cord?
Yeah
Vision pro does some ambitious stuff though
More ambitious than the tech it has lol
I hate throwing electronics freight. Like we begged them to fix the locking cases for a year or more before the locks finally got repaired. And the frames are so bent up a lot of them barely shut anyway- my question is this- if you aren't going to maintain your merchandise protection, why bother? Just leave it asscheeks hanging out for people to steal, you're doing that anyway.
Lol
