I have
have you used the dock a lot
maybe the port got like
damaged
solder joints
cracked
that's what i was saying >> the usb-c port on the bottom
I had a friend buy a whole ass new PS3 one time and it was just his cable
take a lookie at it
maybe go at it with a toothpick
in case there's any lint/dust in there
Laughs in compressed air can
MAXTOR
No I looked at everything and physically it all seems fine
I can hear the grinding noise from here
you never forget the sound of maxtor hard drives lol
idk why Apple liked them so much
they stuck them in a lot of fanless imac G3s and G4 cubes
god when they started filling drives with helium and using fluid dynamic bearings
My HDMI was flickering earlier and then it went out and just now I was on the Switch for a couple minutes without any flickering and then the HDMI just went out entirely
the sound of them went down DRASTICALLY
but they were so loud that the lack of a fan was barely noticed
And now my monitor doesn't see anything on HDMI 1 again
Inhale the HDD air
So I'm pretty sure it's my Dock that's fucking up
It’s good for you
i wonder if the switch works with usb-c to hdmi adapters
I want to say no
do you have a different device you can bang into hdmi 1 with your pc on?
console or w/e
lame
The Switch needs external power to go into TV mode and not every adapter will work given he protocol the Switch used to transmit data through HDMI.
My PC
That's about it
I don't have anything else besides PC and Switch
Tom's Hardware Guide- Building a Water Coolant PC, in english.
damn bro
them sweet AMIGA TUNES
i always called it tom's intel guide
because they would always review AMD stuff the same way that car mags review american cars
yeah they were pretty biased
just like that
Intel CPU at 60c: "It runs a little on the warm side"
AMD CPU at 60c: "The CPU kept on running very hot at the verge of overheating"
overheating video
I think someone called them out and said
they didnt even put the overheating protection on
Car magazine on Dodge doing 0-60 in 5.9 seconds "The acceleration felt acceptable but kinda sluggish"
Same Car Mag talking about a Toyota Camry doing 0-60 in 7 seconds "The 2013 Camry felt nimble and peppy"
Lmao
i'm not even kidding i fucking saw this
Bro why can Camry’s go 160mph
i forgot who did that
Pre 2008
tbf some engines that are like
but they were notorious for always presenting american cars in a negative light
Oh if they are talking about engine feel?
That’s kinda understandable
Tbh all low rpm action is kinda not as fun
like
I got into an argument with someone over the whole
american push rod hurr durr
and im like
dude
low end torque
is just more fun
and you can USE it without getting pulled over
9000rpm sounds insane and feels insane even if it’s only 220hp compared to 4000rpm with 500hp
try revving out a honda and not getting pulled over
there's a lot of factors to consider, sure
it depends Like, the old Civic SIs would scream and sound like you were racing on the track
and you'd be going 35mph
so basically, car mag version of userbenchmark 🤣
Rev out the first gen civic and it’s top speed being the cruising speed of a Challenger 440 Six Pack in second
idk about the challenger 440 sick pack
but from my v8 300 days, 1st gear on the 5 speed went to about 45mph
it was very easy to be doing highway speed wthout realizing it lol
They actually aren’t ALL that fast compared to modern V8’s but
Jesus Christ
It’s entirely direct
but I don't think the 2020s cars with the hemis drive the same as the 2000s ones
for one, they decided that everyone loves their exhaust to be extremely loud
I wonder if it had to do with how the acceleration curve changed over the duration?
Maybe one had a more even acceleration, whereas the other was maybe weaker at one point or another
I just remember a particular magazine or car site being very consistent with how they described things lol
and I wanna say the difference in numbers was bigger than that, too
My friend has a Challenger Scat Pack and it loses traction on the stock tires if you try to get anywhere near flooring it
I think stock its like 275 rears or something? He wants to put 305s or something on it when the stock ones wear out
I want a Pontiac GTO so bad. It's a rebadged Holden and is front-rear with an LS up front and a 5 speed manual in-between
the modern GTO at least
last gen
G8 GXP would be even better
but those are rare
the G8 is dope
I still hate myself
I remember
they were like
24,000 dollars
when Pontiac went under
a fuckin
V8 LS muscle car sedan
for 24,000
at least Pontiac went out with a bang and had some awesome fucking cars at the end
I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE
My friend is such a rager while driving, but then never got adaptive cruise bc "he doesn't like it", so he sits there constantly having to manually nudge the cruise speed up and down mph if he gets stuck behind someone before he can pass on the highway, etc.
hahahaha
I hate that shit so much
some dickhead like
"73 MPH"
like wtf is thjat
its not like a mint condition G8 GXP is 65k
YES
the era where gm made comfy seats
awesome seats
hahaha that GM steering wheel
even the back ones look comfy af
So someone will be in the left lane doing 73 or 75 and he sits there grumbling about it for a full minute before he can get around them. Then he gives it enough gas to make a loud angry growl out of the engine to go around them
but tbf, you can do a crazy amount with that 6.0 LS
lol
a fucking 6 liter V8 in a decently small coupe
I feel comfortable doing the speed limit on the freeway so I usually go in the right lane, or the 2nd to right lane
out here, the right lane can be dangerous sometimes
because people will come flying from the left lane at 100mph to take an exit
A guy was going like 50 in a 55 on a county highway and he passes him at 85 and im like dude you need to chill and he's like "it's safer to pass them more quickly" ... and im like bruh... that was 30 over. Passing quickly is like +10 on them normally
Adaptive cruise makes drives a lot more chill IMHO bc if you get into traffic you can't get around, you can simply get in line and wait it out rather than constantly looking at your speedo trying to adjust the cruise or turning it off and thinking about when you'll get around them. Then when you get to the point you can get around them (assuming they don't move over on their own), the car will get back up to speed on its own when you're in the clear lane.
hmm i still want a porsche panamera i think xD
they also kinda have a sporty but cozy vibe
the new gen is coming out this year so they should drop in value more
i wonder if they made any of the current gen with a wood dashboard
that was pretty common in the 1st gen but i don't see it in the current one
not that I know of
not even the 911 or 718 get wood
which is too bad, because I thought that was cool
the new Panamera reminds me of when Autech did the Skyline Sedans for Nissan
like you can tell it has the 911 stuff going on
its just
long
From the front it looks like the 911, from the side it looks like a Stinger to me lol
the first gen Panamera's have an ugly dumpy
but it makes them stand out
also it means they are super cheap now
Dat gyatt
always reminded me of a cockroach
like 17~25k
I imagine the repair parts aren't cheap on them tho
eh no
and by what i meant
its rear transaxle as well iirc?
anything with a rear transaxle ends up being expensive
which I think is neat as hell in a sporty car
because sporty cars are almost always like FAKE CF AND PIANO BLACK EVERYWHERE!
oh you can buy a Panamera Executive
I thought they stopped making them
thats the extended wheel base one
has like 6 extra inches for the back seats
yea it seems now
that mostly the wood option is just a little piece of trim around the piano black panels
the most expensive Panamera you can buy new is a Turbo S E-Hybrid Exectuive for 206k
completely bass
you can probably get it to like 300k easy
if you do a custom paint
which is an extra 30k
oh I SEE NOW
AGONY
thats an awesome spec
$119k
i do wish they had an option for chrome trim around the windows... or even more interesting would be if it matched the wheels, but that would probably be a solid NOPE hahahaha
plus i'm not sure it'd actually look good
yea only the 911 has stock chrome iirc?
it may not have it anymore
around the windows at least
also you cant get a non RS 718 Spyder anymore
that was my dream car
maybe in 15 years they will be under 100k
probably wont be cause of inflation

https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/WP0CC2A84LS240620 this spec is pretty rad
100% a flipper car tho
5k miles and already for sale and its a 2020
so its probably been driven hard for a year, then sat waiting to sell at a crazy high price but then all the prices crashed
Sir, thats called an ejection seat
Shhhhh
I dont want the fomo stress
And its nvidia
So i think they're evil shitheads anyway
Frame DEEZ NUTS
Frame Generation is the MTL Speedsubs of video games: Lets just make shit up to get it out faster and make more money
yea the 40 series is way way way better with raytracing work loads
like
way way way better than the 30 series
Giant BBS sticker
He spent all his money on BBS LM’s
Cheapest price on BBS LM’s is like 1600 per wheel
What’s with the taco bell poster
That’s my main focus
What’s BBS? Or do I not want to know
BBS Kraftfahrzeugtechnik AG (English: BBS Automotive Technology AG) is a high-performance automobile wheel design company headquartered in Schiltach, Germany. BBS produces wheels for motorsport, OEM, and aftermarket applications. The company is often credited as pioneering the three-piece wheel and advancing the aluminum wheel industry over many...
I’m gonna pretend I know how to pronounce that
Ba Ba As
the way FM and mouse don't line up is awful lmao
and, yes, it's a USB mouse with a built-in FM radio tuner
They what
I assume like most live edge desks, it has metal supports routed into the underside of it
it's pretty common to do that
i hope, but i have seen so many people post on reddit that dont have that
you use a wood router to make a channel, then drop a metal bar into it
if not oof lol
Wouldn't you use a chisel to cut that wide of a channel
I think those ALEX drawer isn't available in black anymore
I was looking for it, only white, natural and blue available lol
I can think of a way, but maybe not the preferred solution to reinforce it
combination of these 2, you can just decide how many do you like
but idk how people do it
usually
It looks like they just slapped a live edge board over two filing cabinets, honestly
but it's common for people who build their own DIY sim racing, if they don't use wood, they use these aluminium blocks
that's what I meant
but most people use a router lol
with a plunge bit
With how many redditors there are who believe they are (but aren't) engineers, it would be far more likely they just thought the span would be fine
watched a guy use a regular bit and it exploded in the shop 😭
I wouldn't use a router to cut a plunge that's only 1/8 deep, since it needs to be at least 2" wide for a good brace
this is the original, 2 alex drawers + lagkapten 200cm table + 1 foot
You can literally just take a 2" wide planer or chisel and chip it down
idk why it's necessary to get rid of the leg, is it that intrusive??
Muh aesthetic
One day everyone posting these empty IKEA staged desks will wake up and be like
I've only seen it done with a template and router so
and none of them use the drawers because drawers suck
yeah the one I have uses 5 legs lol
Router is faster, but you need a fixture or a table to hold the cut square
You can use a chisel on the thing as is and just hold a fence on the square edge
Assembling them is the worst
the surface of anything is the best form of storage
Putting the stupid rollers on and making sure they match up at the end
idk you just don't see what's in it all the way and shit rolls around. It's guarantee ADHD lose everything you own and disorganization bait
or the stupid plastic IKEA ones that don't use slides and it's just the drawer sitting on plastic rails
Worse, the stupid tubs that sit in metal rails and the plastic starts to bend as soon as you put anything in them so the ends of the tubs keep falling out and misaligning
yall just jealous of my Ikea drawer
I'm starting to think putting PC on top of my desk is kinda overrated lol
now that I needed more space 😂
or in those picture, they just put it on top of their desk cause it's r/battlestation moment?
Do they make risers to put under a desk to put a PC on?
you can actually just buy those monitor stands and use it as a pc stand
this is an example I found from internet, like $15 AUD, really cheap
in US probably cheaper
Yeah, I was told it would go up like a dry Christmas tree if I put it on the carpet.
I ordered new adjustable monitor braces because I want to be able to alternate my desk between sitting and standing position but my monitors aren't set up for standing
oh yeah don't put it on a carpet
always on a flat, smooth, solid surface
is there any benefit putting it on top of your desk
not really
compared to the picture I posted above
ease of access I suppose
ic
and cable management
It’s really heavy so I dunno if a monitor stand would hold it.
every monitor stand has their weight limit
make sure you read it first before buying, lol
the one I posted above has 20 kg weight limit, I don't think mine is even 10kg
once I have time, I'll do some deep cleaning and fully rearranged my gaming setup, so it's comfier, it's due for updates cause of the new stuffs I bought
😂 same here
man I am so tired of webshops in the Netherlands lying about "if you order before XX:XX your package will be delivered the next day"
we know you're not going to pull it off, stop pretending you do and hide behind the small print when it of course doesn't work out
just be honest about estimated delivery times
gotta do everything to compete with amazon
man I'd rather order from Alternate or Megekko than Amazon any day
even Bol
but they all lie about the estimated delivery time
My old CPU often got this, had no idea to this day what caused it lol. I'm guessing just old PSU
are the fans on his gpu spinning?
he has to go to work; I'll ask him
ngl though, giving support through an intermediary is not fun
get him to join here after work or something
at this point, why not just VR 😂 I guess there's a chance you'll drop those beer
is VR really hurting to your eyes after a while, that you prefer multiple screens
Depends on the person, for me, VR isn't a great option because I need really strong corrective lenses.
I've got a set for my VR headset, which work okay-ish, but they're nothing like my /auctual/ glasses.
wait, VR doesn't really work for people with myopia for example? 🥲
cause I have -3.5 on each eyes
what do you mean by corrective lenses?
he hasn't plugged it into his wifes monitors yet
he says the gpu fans are spinning
I think its the OSD?
on the monitor
I really hope you can just try out VR before buying, rip
somehow that got touched or changed
I have astig's in both eyes, plus an extremely strong script:
or reset
just try a single monitor
yea
It's not like VR can correct for the issues w/ my vision, so I have to wear glasses or some sort of corrective lens. So I've got a couple hundred bucks in the headset + a couple hundred in the lenses so I can use it, and they're just "okay" lenses.
People spend 80k sterling/90k USD on sim cockpits for DCS
I’d do VR and AR with one of these
yeah I just wanted to know why not just VR since they wanted immersiveness
like nothing can beat VR in terms of immersiveness and for SIM vehicle, immersiveness is a high priority
And then it’s smarter to just use trackIR
If you don’t have AR
*plus it’s way cheaper
Yes, VR tends to be taxing on the eyes after awhile, and having the headset on can get uncomfortable. Also even the best VR headsets atm still don't necessarily have the best framerates and FOV at high resolution. I don't even know if they have 4K@120 220d degree FOV for example
framerates arent much of an issue anymore if you have a halfway decent PC, but resolution and especially FoV are still big problems.
almost all headsets still feel like you are wearing diving goggles.
still a great experience for little money in comparison with proper cockpits though
Yea to me the immersion never mattered much, having a wheel and pedals makes it way easier to drive slower than with an Xbox controller lol
I need to finally make that wedge so I can mount my wheel to my desk in the living room when I want to play
It has a beveled edge, so the wheel doesn't clamp down properly and slips off easily
Actually, I can probably get my dad to help with that since they have an identical desk to the one I have. So I could simply bring the wheel there and get his advice on making the wedge I need and test it there before bringing it home.
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
pfft
just threw together a PC for a friend
what an ugly gpu
I assume the idea is they will upgrade the CPU at some point?
Also why DDR4-4000 on an intel?
Seems you could save a bit of money going with 3200 and put that into bumping up the GPU to like a 6650XT or 6700XT
170$
that's what i have in the shop lol
the CPU is 90$ LOL and all he plays is fortnite
GPU is fuggo but i have rebates for it
OIC okay then
Otherwise I was going to suggest this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mGNhBL
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Fartnacht
6700Xt is 550-600$ here 6600 XT is 300-400$
that's why i chose the gpu
Canada pricing 💀
Too nice, you gotta demand better pricing /s
lmfao
No I meant as a country you have to demand better tech prices from vendors heh
When did you wind down your PC business? Or is it you handed off running it to someone else and still help with it?
Bc I could have sworn you were still at it like a year ago at least
Ah okay, so yeah not too long ago
with the current pricing, the margins just destroy my business
and it's getting much worse

I do not feel comfortable charging what i need to charge to keep it running
How long before everything blows up? Housing is insane, food is insane, tech is insane
it's basically a slow explosion rn
Also with the new generation, I do not think I have the assets to buy inventory at all
They keep not learning so I think at this point it's going to be like some mega recession after it all blows up before maybe they will pass laws to prevent companies from doing this shit
too put it in perspective, I'm essentially buying a used car everytime I'm stocking higher end GPUs
Yep, and given Nvidia's public statements and actions in recent years, I don't believe things will get better in that for at least several more years yet
They're completely happy dumping 100% of their silicon into AI cards if they could
Consumers get GPUs only if you're willing to pay double or accept the scraps
8gb vram 192bit bus on a 70 series card ho!
I'm gonna be getting a eng license and work for someone else
and I'm winding up a new small business
also that motherboard I pick
top tier ewaste
I do not recommend it
good budget but Ive has a few failed
he's getting one that I fixed

can you get a 6650xt?
not really
outta budget
he only plays on a 1080p 144hz monitor
the 6600 XT will do
tbh when you don't need anything crazy, low end radeons are awesome
they're cheap, don't use much power, don't produce much heat, and don't produce much noise either
i repurposed my old computer as a sim racing computer and tossed a 6650xt in there and actually enjoy playing on it more than i do my 3080ti behemoth because of the noise and heat lmao
I feel like you could fix a lot of that by simply setting an FPS cap and editing the fan curve then if necessary
Friend ended up going for the 6700 XT given the performance difference between this and the 6750 XT are marginal at best.
For 1440p, it's fine™️
At 350 usd for a new card given that getting a 6750 XT was 400+
i might pick up the radeon 7900 xt if it actually goes down in price
i think it's a little bit over kill for 1440p but better having a little bit of overkill rather having to change gpu earlier
I realize that since I'm stuck on the AM4 platform still, if I were to upgrade my CPU, (Ryzen 7 5800X3D), I'd have to build a whole new pc on the AM5 Platform in... 2027-2028.
@lost python I mean being in a race/drift car is already uncomfortable, VR is actually half the weight of track's helmet that you need to wear when you enter a real life track, driver often recommended to do regular neck exercise anyway like this https://youtu.be/Dpp9NAmTNck?si=ZZ-f9T0eHqvYRosD
so VR is actually add the total immersiveness on top of the FoV, although yeah i have a little research on this and not being able to try it out and see what I can get with my PC is a bit concerning
ima be real, posting the neck work out is kinda wack
only F1 drivers do this
even in GT3 cup cars you dont experience more than 2G's
its usually like
1.5
which is the most you can possibly experience anyways with the tire regulations they have in place
tires directly correlate to the G's you experience while cornering, accelerating and braking
@modest moss I fixed my friends PC
by plugging my monitor into it
somehow it worked!
😮
I think his monitor settings got changed somehow lol
and do his now work?
nah
he didn't bring his monitors
but his PC is running; windows booted
games loaded
I even got his back fan running
that wasn't plugged in lol
it had a 3 pin connector and sata power connector
let me know if his monitors work when he tries them
he plugged the 3 pin into the motherb oard
without changing the settings?
🤷♂️
ah good to know, I do neck exercise at the gym anyway
yea neck workouts good
its just F1 and Formula E are the only two motorsports that have cars extreme enough to require that
outside of the Redbull Plane Races
he now says the main monitor doesn't work
but his second monitor works
without changing anymore
anything
sounds like his main monitor died
does he have a spare power cable, or does the power cable from the second monitor work
fkin LOL
I wonder if something shorted
One of his monitor ports are working
The other ports don't seem to be working
Monitors are working
usually when i see port failures
its one type
is it just the HDMI that works?
if the Displayports dont work, then whatever chip controls the DP output is probably fried
those rusts, how old is this PC?...
Just one display port works
I had a PC for like 8 years, and It didn't have any rust
if you have the PC near a window, and it rains, itll happen
my parents pc had that issue
too damp, often enough
and was too close to a window
so we got rust on the back
that's brutal, I bought my parents NUC for this reason, very easy to maintain
What's currently the best 1080p GPU
I think you better off define the use case first
probably something like a RX7600, or a 4060
60 GPS
mid range, dont need anything higher
if I'm not wrong I also had that and I decided with 6600xt, I guess it's also the performancec/dollar you can considerate
6600xt afaik is designed for 1080p in mind
can choose from these
problem with these, is they are 8GB cards
OK hold on
depends on the budget, butt sometimes you get a cheaper higher end price
I got a deal on the 6600xt, and only needed to add like $20 to upgrade from the previous level, with those percent increase, it was worth it
What's code 31
on a budget, can get a 6600
google it 🤷♂️
but basically what it says on the screen
do a clean reinstall of the drivers imo
is rx 5700 xt and 5700 xt the same?
use DDU
Wtf
yes, RX is just the branding
all AMDs are RX
if same, then your graphic is already same as mine, I play sekiro and got a high fps
There's a difff??
its like asking if a Nvidia RTX 4060, is the same as a 4060
ic ic
yes, they are the same, there is nothing else
tbh you better off buying a better pc environment
that gpu broke in under 2 years, what the heck
those rusts is defo a problem
do a clean driver reinstall, usign DDU before calling it dead
a bit of rust on the back doesn't mean shit
until you confirm its not a software issue
and if its dead, he should really make sure the PC isn't near a window, or in a damp room
after replacing the card
my parents PC ran perfectly fine for years, with small spots of rust on the back of the case
didn't mean anything
!faq ddu
Step 1: Download Device Driver Uninstaller.
Step 2: Download the newest driver from your graphics card manufacturers website: AMD and/or Nvidia.
Step 3: Disconnect your internet and restart your PC in safe mode.
Step 4: Run Device Driver Uninstaller and click on 'Clean and Restart' after you select your device type and GPU.
Step 5: After the PC restarts and you are disconnected from the internet, install the drivers you downloaded from Step 2.
Step 6: After you install them, restart your PC one final time and reconnect your internet.
It's requesting to install chipsrt drivers

What do I do if my mobo takes Ethernet for it's wifi connection but my room doesn't have an Ethernet port in the wall
Online shopping for Powerline Network Adapters from a great selection at Computers Store.
it convert ethernet cablet into electric plug
just use power line adapter 1 on the router, then the adapter 2 close to your PC, then connect the powerline adapter 2 with ethernet cable to your mobo
another option is adding a wireless card to your pc
here's how it works https://youtu.be/ywQeJCa3jl8?si=xWFdhEhEeVxLiAX7

Be a housing mentor then
btw I know it's prob a gimmic, but do ceramic keycaps actually feel good to use? and as a matter of fact, what should I look for in a keybord/any suggestions?
According to the diagnosis, they werent able to replicate issue i had
But i am not sure if they replaced the gpu
But most likely since it receives power now
Usually when they find nothing they do nothing
Ah okay
Probably reseated it
i see
Cause the main issue was that the gpu first started to power down and cause the pc to restart , to the point where the gpu just straight up wouldnt power when booting up.
So my first thought was " its broken lol"
I don't imagine they found nothing if that's the symptom profile, unless it's something thermal and they couldn't heat it up enough to cause the psu to shut down
Because obviously nothing interesting will happen in 20 minutes out of the box
so according to the diagnosis thing, they tested it with call of duty: warzone and 3d mark
Oh well
If it works, it works
BRO
YOU HAD ONE JOB

how is it fucking possible to have more cache, more cores and have less performance
god I have to buy one of these pieces of shit
that 690euro 7900xt looking mighty tempting right about now

tl;dw images for 1440p and 4k across 22 modern games without raytracing:
super by name only
Super expensive 👍
relatively efficient though. average power consumption at around 250w, but short-term spikes up to 360w
That's typical for a midrange GPU these days though
It's not like you can compare the 4090 against anything below it, you pay a price for being 70% faster
lets see how the 1400$ 4080 super will be like
5% better than a 4080 probably
lmao if the 4070ti super
had 10% more cores
and is neck and neck with the previous card
I cannot imagine the 4080super
that only has 5% more cores

bleh
a good 4080 model is 1200euro right now
a cheap one is 1070
You can get robbed by leather jacketman
retail price will be like 1100 so they can say it's cheaper than the 4080
Honestly, if amd got their shit together and the drivers actually worked the 7900 xtxtxtxttxtxxtxtxt would be best in slot
I already feel robbed looking at these reviews
amd always feels like an investment for the future with their drivers
its been about 2 years now since i bought my 6900xt and i finally dont have any issues anymore
whenenever someone asks for a pcbuild i will now ask them if they mind potentially having to wait 1-2 years before the system is truly stable
For as often as I sit in front of my pc these days it's probably fine
I only intend to play overwatch and star rail anyway lmao
i do hope AMD lowers some AM5 cpu prices soon, because i want people to upgrade so i can snatch a cheap AM4 cpu for my gf
I was going to donate my old pc to gril but she doesn't like how big it is
what type of drivers issue ? been on amd for a while, never had anything system breaking occur
I might use that c64 chassis I bought and put a mini itx build together for her
amd has all sorts of random ass issues
like manual fancurves or OCs in the driver resetting on bootup
or the driver crashing because you watched videos with hardware acceleration etc
some are getting fixed, some are still around.
iirc the memory clock is still running at max, eating unnecessary power, if you have more than 1 monitor connected
That's a windows bug I think
which of these?
AMD recognized it as their fault
I think they actually still have that bug even though they claim they fixed it
would be quite the windows moment if thats really microsofts fault, but i remember people trying older drivers that didnt have this issue
I mean, if both Nvidia and amd have the same issue it feels like maybe the problem is wdm
I've been burning at least twice as much power as I should have been for like 10 years because Nvidia never fixed the two display 3d clock thing

Yes
I've seen some partial processor fails myself
Though then it was more severe as the average core number was 6
holy, I cant imagine all the things they had to do to narrow it down to one specific core failing

"Hey, since you got the training. You should take the CompTIA A+ exam. Oh, but you have to pay for the chance to take the test."
"How bad could it be?"
The test:
Simply buy a 13900KS
💀
for fucking a+?
arnt those just learning packages not the test fees?
Just a test voucher is 250 USD
that's what I thought
You have to do a little more digging to find just the voucher.
not pricey tbh for a cert
It feels like extorsion
same as paying tuition, gotta pay the person grading it and stuff
i too pay the computers to grade my certification
Given how strict CompTia is with it's grading, I doubt any human bothers to look over the results
my itf+ was completely online lol
Same
i got my pass/fail the second i clicked submit
idk if im gonna do accounting or software engineering yet lmao
post secondary education moment
I did a program that paid for my ITF+ attempt. Thankfully I passed the first try but. Good Lord it was stressful
my highschool paid for mine
0.9L is wild
I think it's actually like half the size of the nes
Join us as we stop by to congratulate Lanny Smoot, the Disney Research Fellow and Imagineer behind mind-blowing special effects like making Madame Leota float inside the Haunted Mansion and our state-of-the art Star Wars lightsabers, is being inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame!
Lanny is the first Disney Imagineer to receive this...
the omnidirectional treadmill is coming
they have disney’s funding, of course they are
The tech they used to make the holograms in rise of the resistance is insane
It maintains directional perspective and isn't a flat facing reflection
It's too bad the star wars hotel thing was so fucking expensive because that was also really cool tech across the board
I wonder what they're going to do with that space now that they spent like $900 million to build it up and then discontinue the thing it was built to do
Disney and Lockheed funding pepega
The military-magic complex
Lockheed at least does something with it
Disney keeps building and renovating resorts and making them WORST
unless you are a top dollar customer
which is uh
more expensive than actual exclusive resorts
Lockheed funding it interesting
Though they have developed numerous highly influential stuff since they were founded in the 50’s
Maybe there is a hotspot over that part of the CPU and it degraded it just enough to start causing errors?
\o/
holy shit thats actually amazing
WTF already?! That sucks
fwiw you can probably buy the prep textbook for like $80 iirc at a local college bookstore since it's used for some of the basic level courses
Yeah, because the experience sucked and it cost as much as a damn cruise for a two day stay
Nobody was booking and you could literally get a slot any peak time you wanted
HP now claims the reason for only HP ink cartridges is to protect people from possible viruses!
To which one should ask: Why are your ink cartridges susceptible to viruses, and why would we expect yours to be any better than 3rd party if that is a valid attack vector?
I bought gril a brother laser printer and she's gone through about 800 pages with the toner it came with
She was printing stuff on an hp office jet and it was costing me like $150 a week to print her shit
And that was including the "eh, let it be yellow" phase
for a print freak like that, you need something like MFC-L3370C or the same level lol
colour laser printer, photocopy, scanner, wifi
tbh if we are talking about 800 pages I was imagining it wouldnt stop there lol
No, she prints her lecture slides because she doesn't like to study on her computer
yeah but studying doesnt stop at lectures and uni
So she writes up all the notes on the slides themselves and then prints every lecture out for every exam
if her way of study is like that, her other side of hobbies etc that requires learning will also requires printers, and that sometimes help if you get the colour one
Yeah, I don't need them
She had an office jet and only ever printed with it
I got the enterprise grade one so it can handle like 30k pages before I need to crack it open to look at the rollers
But I'd be broke as fuck if I kept feeding her stupid inkjet every other week
NGL, tried to look up a keyboard to buy and I essentially have a massive headache
But from what I gather, the best budget keyboard soon will be rainy 75
That or some other brand
There are just too many
70 usd? that's too expensive for super budget mechanical keyboard
this is $17 USD here in Australia lol https://youtu.be/8zg2iZRfqgw?si=_LK7_gz1g9rpS7t2&t=160
Today we venture down south to pick up the Anko Mini Mechanical Gaming Keyboard from Kmart. A 60% mech for only $25aud, which is like 17usd lol.
also ayoooo campbelltown repz
you can sus it out here, but looks like they're low on stock :
https://bit.ly/3l66Xj1
my watch if anyone cares : https://amzn.to/3NgbKdA
Instagram : https://www.instagr...
I mean, ye, there are plenty of cheap keyboards
tbh its acceptable I guess, I mean it' just a keyboard, unless you are some keyboard connoisseur
you can check out what can you get for $17 USD from the video
that's a keyboard enthusiasts channel, it will break it down what you can get now for $17 USD
Also that keyboard is just terrible given how small it is
ah yeah I think there's a slightly larger one that's 100% size
I'll check the other videos yoo
But the majority of these are probably not available nowadays/in Europe or there is prob a better option now
Can someone recommend a good display port to hdmi converter?
I had one but it was cheap thrashhhh
from the reviews and videos, the experience seemed pretty cool, but I think it's a case of "it costs a lot to do this, but people don't really see it being worth the cost"
because you're basically living inside a play for 2 days lol
maybe they would've done better if it was like a week long and then all the action happened during part of it
(honestly i'd probably rather do it than a cruise ship lol)
hahahahhaahha it's amazing how far down the rabbit hole people can go
mechanical keyboards are kinda like mechanical watches, but cheaper
like, you want a keyboard that's going to be easy to use, require no special drivers, and last practically forever? Yea that's the $12 logitech
you want a watch that's going to be easy to use, very accurate, and require no maintenance? Yea that's the $12 generic watch from walgreens
Yeah I feel like there are a little variation comparison from 1 mechanical keyboard to another, lol. To me being comfortable, have cable to have lowest delay, last forever and easy to clean, I like it hehe
but maybe I can get one one day for work stuff, but I still don't know what I want and how to actually choose the correct one for my hand, finger size etc
like there's no appealing reason that maybe can reduce the risk of injury or other functional improvement by paying more, that's what I would want to spend more money on
like I've seen far more expensive mechanical keyboard makes it harder to clean compared to the k-mart one I just posted
and like if you buy one for competitive gaming for example, there's a tiny chance that the game could make you angry and you 'accidentally' destroy your precious keyboard
although I don't game with my keyboard, I usually use a pad
there're more criteria that will add up in the price if you like for those features
like a good switch that's not too loud/squishy, plasticky loud in office environment, type feel, level of accuracy (membrane is notorious for this)
also jammed switched/jammed keys idk never experience it tho my pal has a defect switch but ez enough to swap it out
tho the ones tend to avoid injuries are the split ones/ergo ones and it's rather....weird looking
yeah, maybe not knowing what I want really discourage me to buy some more advance stuff haha
like when I about to start something I usually take hours to do some research, comparing from one to the other to find what's my type -.-
ya ^
until like, when you have a gasp in basic of it and the most important, what do you want, it's quite discourage tho
and people just bandwagon of "mechanical iz gud" is a tad....eh
this is why i have a dygma raise keyboard lol
i do drink the kool-aid about split keyboards and their related ergonomic tricks (spreading them apart, tenting, etc) helpful for back/neck/shoulder stuff
tbh I think it's more important than mechanical keys
like if for some entertainment stuff I'd prefer a mechanical, yeah reasonable
for work, mostly still laptop and k380, mech one is good to have
w deck, still 380
yeah I remember seeing your setup the other day, but I didn't know the purpose behind you picked that keyboard, lol
and also backlit, not necessary RGB but I'd like to see what I type in the dark
there are reasons people talk about like, on a traditional keyboard you bottom out the keys (especially on chicklets) and the impact of your fingers slamming down isn't good for your fingers or hands
but I'm not sure that claim was ever validated
yeah, my work stuff is this, is there any mechanical version of this? it's wireless keyboard+mouse bluetooth combo it has dongle
I want the same size, but mechanical
yea there are low-profile mechanical switches
is this 80%? not sure how many percent is this lol
also imho i type faster on scissor switch keyboards (like apple ones or probably that one in your pic), than I do on a mechanical
it has arrow key, but no numlock
i think that's 75%
ah ok
it is 75% lol
ahhh ye the choc switches
there's not really a standard for 75%
that's more of a laptop layout
macbook pro but with the fn and ctrl keys swapped ahahha
I have the same Ctrl and Fn swapped out
Gigabyte G5 btw
active power factor correction psu's (most desktop ones) aren't happy with fake sine waves but it's mostly when swapping from mains to backup
the connected system is liable to shut down
yea if you're going to buy a ups, it's a like $50 difference
the problem is, if you need a 1500va pure sine wave ups, you have 3 options and they all suck
the regular APC, the gaming APC, and the cyberpower
all 3 have a non-negligible amount of amazon reviews that involve smoke and/or fire
Hahaha the experience card
Why are people buying cheap UPS’?
Yea that’s sus
The power supply in my computer cost the same and it’s 750 watt 80+ gold
Yes
also why did you spend $200 for a 750w
Cause that’s what it cost way back when I got it
EVGA one
I think the supplier was
Fuck
The one that makes the insanely high end ones
Seasonic?
ouch lol. I remember when evga PSUs were the cheapest good ones
Yea they were cheap
like I paid around $100 for my 750 g3
I just remember it being that much, no clue where I bought it
Either Newegg or Amazon
Who knows, maybe I bought it right at the product line launch
If it was a seasonic supplied one I can see it being as expensive as it was
Their shit is awesome
you keep saying seasonic so you have a g6
i think it may have launched when PSUs were very overpriced
I think it was
g2/g3 were superflower, g6 is seasonic
both are great
g4 and g5 were not either, i forgot who made those
Yep it was a G6
I remember that packaging
I remember it smelling weird, PSU’s smell weird
Yea mine was a G6 750 80+ Gold fully modular
Screw non modular PSU’s
I should start a business of just flipping Dell developer PC’s from company auctions
Some of them got pretty damn good CPU’s in them, just have shitty GPU’s sometimes
I’ve seen them going for low prices again in bulk at some local company auctions
If the market gets flooded with 12900K’s you know who it was
chiclet keyboards

resurrecting my old gaming rig, to use as a server
i7 3770
wasnt gonna put a gfx card in it
when i replaced the system, it was working perfectly no hardware issues
now, trying to install any OS, immediately shuts down the entire system
i have tried, windows 10, 11, and Centos
all 3, the system full powers off the moment they start to initialise the gfx system
at least thats what it looks like
the PSU is 800W, so not a power draw issue
i tried disconnecting literally everything, as it looks kinda like a short of some sort
so only things connected to the mobo, were the cpu fan, the 24 and 4 pin power, and the HDMI video out, and USB kb/m
still happened
swapped PSU for a garbage tier spare 500W i had ripped out of an OEM machine years ago
works perfectly fine
.... wut
install my old graphics card (GTX1060-6GB)
with the 800W psu.
also works perfectly fine
its like this 800W PSU just can't operate with integrated graphics
VERY odd
im just gonna leave the gfx card in there, not like its doing much anyway.
thank you for attending my TED talk.
i was playing realm reborn and suddenly when im also configuring ds4 windows at the same time the game crash and also my whole 256gb ssd with ffxiv installed went missing from the system. tf
already restart and shut down everything
its okay the ssd reappears for some reason
i launched ffxiv again after 10 minutes the ssd goes missing
again
sounds like you either have a dying SSD or some driver/windows fuckery is going on. i think dying ssd is more likely though
Can't be my ssd is not even a year yet
Age doesn't matter, really
Bad silicon dies whenever it wants
age doesnt matter. stuff can even break one day after purchase if you are unlucky.
to know for sure you gotta test it. try downloading crystal diskinfo and check what it says and maybe also check the event viewer in windows for errors during the time when the ssd disappears
I see
If it's a sata ssd try a different cable
Thanks though I'll try to diagnose it with the software
It's a laptop so yeah very thin ribbon cable
found it

This review and testing compares the new AMD RX 7600 XT graphics card vs. the RX 7600, especially looking at the impact of video card VRAM on our gaming test suite. Benchmarks include our new GPU power efficiency testing, which shows where most of the 7600 XT's performance uplift...
I miss the good ol heaven benchmark
I need some advice
I plan to replace the psu of my pc cause i feel like the current gonna turn into a bomb someday.
Is there anything i need watch out for beside not being static charged?
Current one is 700w
Plan to install this one
not much really. just make sure everything is unplugged, USB too, and that you also exchange all the PSU cables.
after unplugging, i just like to hit the start button on the PC a few times to make sure there arent any leftovers
if youre really concerned after turning off the pc and pulling the plug just wait 30min
what makes you think there's something wrong with current psu?
Mainly the thing about the gpu but also the fact that its an enermax maxpro power psu
can't argue with that logic
Like its kinda sending me that everything in the pc is mostly okay excep the psu
why would you buy MSI anyway
so goddamn true
they are somehow worse than thermaltake
mostly cause thermaltake at least decided to change most of their offerings so they arent shit
Using the power of Tensor Cores on GeForce RTX GPUs, RTX Video HDR allows gamers and creators to maximize their HDR panel’s ability to display vivid, dynamic colors, preserving intricate details that may be inadvertently lost due to video compression.
RTX Video HDR and RTX Video Super Resolution can be used together to produce the clearest live...
uploading a video about AI generated HDR as a non-HDR video is just such an nvidia move
also guess which one is supposed to be HDR
hey I'm colorblind and this looks absolutely the same as always
||thats because its literally the same except for the clouds
||
i have a msi gtx660 laying around, it works great for an old gpu lol
the msi stuff I have, has had no issues. I remember they were hella popular back in the geforce 9 series era
seemed every other new build on reddit had one of these
I still say, from an observational point of view, the most troublesome nvidia brand was evga
it's just they were good at doing RMAs
and people were happy when they sent in theri busted 9 series and got back a 10 series
beats asus where everyone rmas their busted 9 series and then asus says it arrived damaged
and then they send a picture with a hammer-shaped dent in it or whatever lol
hahahha i wonder how many of those sorts of stories are actually real though
https://old.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/19e80bh/the_day_has_come_to_welcome_a_new_friend/
ye ye unbox your gpu in the car huh
So Corsair tried air cooling again and it... worked? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvEoclXOnHQ

is it a rebadged cooler?
Maybe try updating the firmware on it?
doesn’t look like it no
anyway good to see that Corsair has their footing after the A500
no please, continue
no
not good for my blood pressure
I still have a pile of dead MSI products in my shed
and by pile I mean a tall stack a meter or so high
motherboards, laptops, GPUs, monitors
shitty broken towers too
there is no redeemable MSI product
I remember them sending me four DOA cards too aaaaaaa
Piece of shit monitor
unredeemable trash
Never had problems with MSI.
I have an ASUS GPU
Biostar though? Naw. Faulty DIMM.
GPU= Girl processing unit
Welp
What about it?
well i am confused about the peripheral slots and the cpu ones since there are multiple cables for them, do I just plug all of them in?
CPU can run on just 1 8 pin
the very top 8 pin
just use that

checking rn, myyy gpu need 8pin
holy fucking shit
Jesus CHRIST
why would they continue to crank it
I would be so scared to do that
thats so stupid
yep
that starter looking like a cooked chicken and the gear looking like a perfect lathed cylinder
I find it hilarious that you can emulate switch games on Android
I find it shocking how smoothly Ryujinx runs in general. Most modern emulators aren't stable yet or are still in the early development stages.
Like RPCS3 is still less than 70% on compatibility I think, and the PS3 is 18 years old.
Did he just warm up his car from the starter
Jesus, why do you need 22 fans?
