The display isn't that great. I also grabbed the 49" OLED to compare but that wasn't a fair comparison (although that had its own share of issues, namely text). The problem is I have been using IPS monitors for awhile now and going back to VA, even though these are supposed next-gen VA tech... Nope, just couldn't do it, text wasn't as crisp and colors were washed out even after calibration (used Spyder X Pro).

yea you don't need to get too hung up on brand name

the advantage is some brands like evga and corsair usually have really good customer service if you're in the US

but none of them make their own units really, they get a platform from a 3rd party and make small customizations

evga, corsair, asus, msi, etc are all repackaging (with small changes)

in that list, super flower and silverstone are two of said companies that actually design PSUs

and I agree with the idea that you should try to get the best PSU you can squeeze into your budget.

a failing or bad PSU can cause all kinds of stupid instability issues that are hard to track down

if the PSU is on that list at all, even tier C is probably going to be good enough though lol

better than some brand X crap -- the really crappy stuff will break your computer eventually

than cheapen out and replace it every 2-3 or risk frying my stuff

I have a Corsair HXi 750w that I bought 6 years ago together with my 1070

it still works without issues

it has been A tier for many years

thanks to me overspending a bit back then

I do not have to change my PSU now
