That's highly unlikely to "damage" it because of a game. Especially a laptop GPU since they aren't very powerful. The small handful of times GPUs have been damaged by games was a fluke between poor motherboard power control, top end GPUs etc. and ironically enough usually sitting at menus where the FPS can become uncapped and max out the rendering of the GPU

Do you remember what the error said? I assume it mentioned the GPU/

Idk for 11 specifically but on 10 I know the hardware acceleration on discord can cause weird things for some games that would be in Settings>Advanced. Any overlay can cause weird issues like xbox game bar which is on by default so youd just shut that off. Windows 10 and 11 probably too has a "gane mode" its on by default and shutting it off might fix that because your computer might be limiting resouces on multiple monitor setups

Also not even 15 years ago you'd have trouble reaching or breaking 60fps on ultra for 80 series cards on 1080p even. I remember playing Brothers in Arms on a midrange system and getting like 15-25fps @ like 1024x768 even or something
