This is the same issue from the other day

Dude's laptop crashed on him during his initial Win 11 setup and we think his current install is beyond salvation so I'm trying to do a fresh Win 10 install cause that's what I did for my PC

The defaultuser0 he was getting disappeared but now it defaults to the Administrator account which is disabled by default in Win 11 and we aren't able to bypass it

Actually would it be better to attempt a fresh Win 11 install since his laptop should already have a valid Win 11 key associated with it?

so their "erasure" actually just involves scrambling the encryption key

doesn't erase anything per-se

there is also OS level encryption, so Bitlocker, which is another thing

i believe, in that case, if you reset the TPM, you lose the keys, and lose access to the drive, unless you kept an external record of the key
