using your login manager for 2FA sounds like it defeats the purpose of using 2FA
the increased proliferation of "your password must be 8-16 characters, randomized alphanumerical with caps sensitivity and special characters" thing also means people don't remember their own passwords and they're easier for machines to brute force
and "pull out another device to log in" is the part that annoys me
because usually it's that one specific device
since the password entropy is fairly low with such criminally small password lengths
or it falls back under that "this defeats the purpose of 2FA"
RSA keys are the way to go
a purpose of 2fa is also so you won't be able to bruteforce the password
yeah, that's the main backstop for 2fa
but MFA can still be defeated with some elbow grease
especially if the MFA comes from an exploitable third-party source, like authy
dumb RSA keys are the best way to go because the only way someone can get that code is to either have the key in-hand or get insanely lucky guessing the hash that generates the code

and has safety mechanisms built in to have less issues

GPT also includes proper Secure boot support, for UEFI, modern motherboards, etc.
has a backup partition table stored in its data elsewhere on the disk, so corruption of the partition table is easily recoverable
its basically modern MBR, just like UEFI is modern BIOS
