Oh, right. I forgot.
That 60 second timer is a good idea because it forces us to enjoy the current cat girl
that is a wise attitude
ooh
pink
^ she reminds me of those ad videos on facebook
where they're like "checking out this new chinese phone cover thing" and it's a first-person-view of a woman unboxing something. and she always has the long sleeves that go to her fingers
ERGH APPLE
so if you have a mac playing apple music and then you go get in your car and your iphone starts playing apple music
it'll cut the mac off and the mac app will say please stop playing on the other device (even if you're not playing music)
and then apple music won't work again on the mac until you restart the mac app
there's a similar sorta misbehavior on my iphone with spotify and apple music lol
suppose I know this, so I use spotify (free) on my iphone for a week or so, well here's what usually ends up happening
- spotify will never auto-play when I get in the car/jeep. It connects and doesn't play anything unless i open the app on the phone and then tell it to.
- apple music will show "not playing" as its current song and won't play anything again (infinite loading) until I restart the iphone
- if I ask siri to play music on either app, it'll tell me "I'm having trouble with the connection" until I restart the iphone
This hydaelyn forsaken screen protector was 50 dollars
Gl putting it on tbh, those guys are so easy to get bubbles in
tbh I have legit considered taking out the 8.4" radio in my jeep
and getting a double din adapter thing
and just sticking one of those oldschool radios in
Already fucked up the application process.
At least it comes with a lifetime warranty* 🥲

!hank
Oo cute
Idk where you bought it from, but my best buy will swap out zagg screen protectors for free if you purchased them from that best buy
i'm sad that there's no JCPenney logo and the buttons look real crappy
suppose I could go a bit more luxurious
waaait
that's not a cassette
neat, a minidisc player
I need to go through the effort of replacing the radio in my car tbh, I bought it a couple months ago and it's an 04 camry with the stock radio. No aux, disc reader has a jam in it
So I'm stuck with the radio or my phone speaker 💀
i'm sure you can get a replacement for that really cheap on ebay
or aliexpress lol
plenty of things like that
ack
NOOO WHY
!hank
I do have silicon power rn, altho the 1tb version. I can say it is good
I can get like two of these and be set for a while

⛓️Confirmed, Intel OEM private key leaked, causing an impact on the entire ecosystem. It appears that Intel BootGuard may not be effective on certain devices based on the 11th Tiger Lake, 12th Adler Lake, and 13th Raptor Lake. Our investigation is ongoing, stay tuned for updates.

this sucks because I built some systems on Alder Lake
heh
tfw you look at car videos and then your family thinks you're planning to buy another car
though if I sold my wrangler, it'd cost like another $40k to get a 392...
and uh...
$40k is enough to probably get a charger with the same engine
so a car better equipped to handle said engine and I still get to keep my jeep
oh dang no those are $50k
HOW MANY dollars?????????

!hank
Nice.

soo, asus board, rtx 40 series with the 12VHPWR connector and a cable bent sideways, and a cheap heatsink, and a 7800x3d

also if you had to choose between ASUS & MSI 4090 what's the pick
the cpu, theres been a lot of reports of those going poof
msi for me personally because i think asus is just overpriced
unless the asus one is cheaper for some reason, then that
you would get the horny one
Asus is like $200 more yeah and thanks
it's a mad world where I need to disable ecores for a game to not stutter
did you build a new PC?
I'd hope so, my old PC was built in 200 B.C.
https://twitter.com/AstralPhnx/status/1654725827865759745 ????????????????????????????
how even
pretty sure this is illegal you cant use the windows kernel to make your own OS lol
MS should be sending them a letter
"gaming" versions in a nutshell. they have existed since forever and its always the same crap
i know i once had a gaming version of 7 and it sucked so much

oh yeah I saw this before
god I feel for all the computer repair shops that are going to have to fix computers that got infected with a bazillion different kinds of malware after some 12 year old decided to install this trash on it
they sponsored LTT so that's gonna be fun
please tell me Linus has more integrity than that
huh, i checked their webpage
and it's listed as "An open-source, GPL-3.0 project"
is it just a reconfig?
yes
I think so at least
I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a policy install
except it's the worst policy ever made
like July last year
ah right on
12700k, 3070ti, blah blah
Dude, no joke a had a kid recently ask me to help install this because ltt recommended it
And when I looked it up, I had a stroke
holy shit
Ltt continues to be the bane of my existence
LTT is the mcdonalds of tech
entertainment is what they do good but nothing else really
but thats how they got so big
rawr
When you're a kid you think a lightweight os will make your games run better
As a geeksquad worker I am most likely gonna be running into hella "streamer" guys that are gonna have this shit
Ltt has continued to make my life as a small local SI hell
geeksquad
HANK
dont they just send your stuff back to the manufacture even after buying their shitty warranty

SARAH
Did you see that 12 rotor motor
I mean depending on the product yeah they just give you another and send one back lmao
That's built to replace a big block

RRRRRRREERR
-ponders again about that 392 wrangler-
no wonder this video has 1 million views already
When it's not ltt it's the "I have a friend who told me this is what's wrong with it"
That I'm fine with because 9/10 times they know I know better and don't fight
When I have to fight with a LTT fan, I simply turn them away lmfao
LTT is good entertainment but he's like a scotty kilmer video
and we all know how dumb scotty kilmer is
he suggested people use compression fittings to fix brake lines after all
you know, the ones with flare nuts
Ok but let's be real
Atleast kilmer is visually insane
Like you can tell he's a jokester
That guy has definitely inhaled too much brake clean in his life
I love watching scotty lol
honestly i wouldn't be surprised if he was a programmer back in the 90s
he just has that type
HAHA
A legend
the best part is most of the titles don't actually refer to anything in the video
but i'm searching for those and can't find them
PFFT
Anyways i do have a bottle of scotch for when Linus makes the company get cancelled or they run out of money
I think they may not include the kernal and its just mods, so there may be a gray area
dexcool is junk
Not 100% sure
maybe its okay now
but when it first came out
it just melted the fuckin seals away
clogged up the radiator
sad northstar noises
If didnt happen when linus admitted to using the hard R, then it never will
I mean that was a slip up lol
Hilarious though
I had my hopes up
I saw that and was like what the fuck, dude
You could see his cohost's life flash before his eyes
"Oh god time to update the resume"
the funny thing is that those shows are produced so he said it, and they left it in.
We all used a little hard r in the olden times
Actually I'm not sure which one that is at this point because you can't say the other word either
Ohhh lmao
I mean when you're at the helm of such a business you gotta treat any controversy as such basically
Gotta do a little theatrics
No he was admitting to how he changed from when he was younger
It wasn't for show
He said he and his friends used to throw the hard R around a lot
And you could see his cohost freeze
The fear was genuine
Jesus christ google is so fuckin annoying

available for same day delivery
to be fair there's plenty of bad financial decisions available
the 666 bundle seems appropriately priced
yea the tough part with those is that if I got what I really wanted it'd be $1000 probably
:<
13900k and a nice z790 board with the debug screen & as many m.2 slots as possible, and corsair dominator ram because I'm an idiot that likes flashy things
... and probably a case that has better ventilation for that stupid 13900k.
microcenter does have that 799 bundle that doesn't have the mobo or ram i'd want 😄
I would go with teamgroup 6000/30 but that's because I'm a cheap ass bastard
140 moneys is not much more than I paid for ddr4 3600
some of the dominator stuff isn't that horribly overpriced

ahhh the z790 sonic pg went down to 209
electricity bill this month is one-fourth more than normal D:
dunno if it is my PC or not :shy:
i want the sonic mobo
sound fast
looks like 5th is wifi slot
ahh good point
so that really gives you 4, which is still ok
the z790 that microcenter throws into their bundle only has 3 lol
i still want one of those gundam boards

Hey yall. I finally got that USB to unlock the desktop I built for my siblings for Christmas.
I put Linux Mint on the USB. Now what should I do?
wipe the hdd and install a worthwhile operating system
You should probably ping whoever was helping you, because I sure as heck know nothing about Linux
Might also be wise to type up a summary of the situation to refresh people
Right. Right. I think I figured it out though.
Thank you Shue.

Hi! I’ve been having 90002 error for some weeks now, tried everything suggested by users on this server and now I’m trying a VPN, is there some specific configuration or setup I should use on my VPN? Cause connecting to different countries still gives me 90002 error every time… I don’t know what else to do… might it have to do with something on the ISPs end? Should I just change my provider?
90002 is usually connection and many way of stuff
Possibly ISP end
suffering in SEA noises bc our ISPs are running by monkes
Ancient intel
Yea, and let’s say I call so they can solve the problem, what specifically should I say is failing? Cause I know they are gonna try to say it’s a game problem, their servers etc… but I wanna let them believe that I know what I’m talking about and that they cannot bullshit me or fool kind of
It’s a routing issue
Run a path ping or trace route and see where it’s continuing to drop
do a tracert to the server you are trying to connect to
Good good, how do I do that? I’m on windows

I recommend using a program called winMTR
type cmd in your search bar and run that as admin, then type tracert server IP here
is the simple way, or what hank says
If you don’t wanna download anything just open command prompt and type tracert <host ip> which would be the ip address of the server
We should probably add a faq for that if we don't
I know we've got one for the ips

Excellent, task handoff into !hank
once you have your tracert results, show them to your ISP somehow
Check with management, not me
No, no, I'm administration
what’s the difference
You need actual management
!hank
Woah cute
And the server in this case would be? I’m in Alpha if that has anything to do with it

My sleep schedule is f'ed this week because humans are stupid
Doing it, can I share the results here so I can get some feedback?
Uh
Sure
18 hours of meetings in 3 days
Nice
Wow you poor thing
How productive
Had 20+ last week
Meetings are just breaks
thats my proof to the isp that something is wrong on their end?
It’s a problem yeah contact your ISP
Tell them that ip address
Tell them you are getting random connection drops
awesome, thanks!!
Won't do anything
That ip is in squares house
It's a square router not responding, not the isp
Which is nornal for square most of the time tbh
so it means the problem is not the ISP then? its on square's end?
A single traceroute doesn't really show long term packet loss
Which is what you need to determine where the actual issue is
Iirc, winmtr does over time traces
ughhh, frustrating stuff, i dont have a way to do that really, right?
There's always a way but they usually cost money or time :p
ill just call and tell them i dont know what the problem is, but since 1 week from now i am having issues when i usually was not having them... i guess
Iirc, winmtr will track the loss if it sees it and you can run it for like 30 mins
Ideally, you'll have it running while you get the disconnect error
that can happen easily cause i get the error as soon as i log in, like no more than 15/30 seconds in
winmtr isn't reliable either, as many network devices will drop responses to icmp, if they are busy, as its low priority.
in the end, you may have a vague idea where the issue is, but it is never concrete, and its not like you can contact some big peering company thats 10 hops down the chain to have them fix their stuff, they will tell you to get lost. Its up to your ISP to make sure it all works and talk to those kinda people.
Yeh, better than nothing tho
ah nice windows had its quarterly bullshit again today, for me
pretending like it updated and trying to get me to accept onedrive, office365 and edge as my browser
that setting is missing with 11

Blessed pro workstation licenses, just disable everything via GPO.

no they're not lmao
an OLED that size is like $15 retail
isn't that the one sarah bought
that doesn't sound like sarah 🤔
Haven't ran crystal disk to check yet, but seagate says two of my drives are damaged so that's fun
$250 for a 75%, yeah, but it would be a genuine custom
I mean, yes, but you forget the 1000% Asus markup on the oled
Its right here
: 3
Good solid choice if you want to mod something
I made a custom plate for it out of POM, redid its gasket mount, put my own switches and stabs
shits pretty decent
probally going to cnc a better bottom case
see
how much did sarah pay
that much
this is how you know a marketing team is completely out of touch with reality *facepalm
tbh selling games I wouldn't pay any attention to what the gaming subreddit or reviews say as long as the sales numbers were good
that market seems truly impossible to please
I need to see this video now
oh no
@tame fulcrum have you ever pondered hooking your computer up to the sink? XD

in actual tech chat, is there any option for a 100% hot swap board besides keychron?
all the other vendors I found only do 65 or 75%
Drop was the only good option like a few years ago but they fell off

I don't have a problem with using keychron, just wanted to see if there was some boutique Elite Vendor that I didn't know about
the only other 100% board I found was from some no-name vendor and it had a bunch of "board arrived dead" or "died after a month" reviews
!hank
Ok how 100% hotswap?
There's Akko tho
However only recommend if you're in asia bc shipping u_u
Can confirm they have 100%, my fren bought one
Ehhhhhhhh iirc their switch is cherry compatible
they aren't that bad for US shipping
and it's any 3 and or 5 pin switch depending on the board
i got myself a mod 004 a while ago
Yeah I went with a Keychron
5 pins, iirc
my specific board is both but idk about some of the others
But if u want no hassle, better be keychron
I went with the Zealios V2 68g
not as great for gaming but I don't play fast-paced twitchy FPSes
Their new gen switches are 5 pins tho
My fren only need something silent so his keeb is fine
Sometime got some switch defect but should be replaceable easily
If I wanted to play shooters I'd swap to linears or lighter switches
^
Also this keyboard is heavy
Or a bludgeon
be MCH
grab le Keychron keeb
YEEEEEET

Question about the 7900 XTX reference cards; was the vapor chamber problem only if it was the standard flat (fans down) mounting?
I think remember it being said if it a vertical mount or bracket down mount (like in the Meshlicious) that the problem didn't occur?
Just get a superconductor computer /s
Most superconductors are chilled via liquid helium
It needs some form of midi input then
I think you can straight up use an audio interface with an ipad, as long as yours has a usb-c port it's pretty easy
if it has a lightning port, you need a usb adapter and then there's the whole power limiting aspect
it might still be enough
at some point someone was selling lightning to usb-a for like $8 and I bought one just to see what I could do with it....
for the most part it's useless because it can't power shit
it can power one of my usb mics though, so that's cool
my camera already can talk to my phone via wifi and I bet that app works fine on ipads, it'd be neat if you could go straight from the camera into fcp but the transfer speed is way too slow for that over wifi
it'd probably also be a nice computer for live audio stuff on music, i think they're already used for that though
I bought a shitload of akko switches last month, but they were sold out of the 100% board when I ordered
that $39 shipping though
!hank
Cute
!hank
$39 shipping?! wth?! are they shipping them from nicaragua or something?
!hank
gg lol
it's okay, they didn't need roblox anyway. they have plenty of better games to play such as
Tux
well yeah, but what does he have to do with gaming
I look it up
It’s some shitty Mario clone
!hank

also that tron game
another classic ofc
that said

i hate this video 😭 the high pitched noise
can't stand old tech and the high pitched noises they make
you remind me of that southpark episode when kyle's cousin comes to visit
my ears are super sensitive okay 😭 i nearly ace'd the damn hearing test too
I'll ask again since it seemed to be missed last time.
About the 7900 XTX reference cards; was the vapor chamber problem only if it was the standard flat (fans down) mounting?
I think remember it being said if it a vertical mount or bracket down mount (like in the Meshlicious) that the problem didn't occur?
I think they already fixed it if you just bought yours
I haven't bought one yet; but a coworker wants help with an ITX build for their living room and a 7900 XTX would be the best bet for their 4k TV.
But finding a 7900 XTX that fits ITX cases that isn't the Ref. version is kinda annoying.
it was a small batch that had an issue with the amount of liquid actually in the vapor chamber
it is non existent now as an issue
I see
This reminds me I failed both my hearing and eyesight tests

This is our Failure Analysis report of the AMD Ryzen 7800X3D CPUs that exploded on our test benches -- some as a result of over-current, some as a result of degradation leading to failure. We worked with an external Failure Analysis Lab to evaluate the result of AMD ...
tl;dw on the failure analysis video: their findings suggest that a dielectric insulation layer near the transistor layer became conductive over time and when it got bad enough it caused a thermal run-away. up to around 1400 Celsius in small areas
ASUS is a scumbag company
sigh.
wtf

which can happen if you juice it too much for too long
been watching the 7000X3D series debacle for a minute. It's a shame because I'm looking at making a new build and I only play MMOs so the choice was obvious. Normally I'd still pull the trigger and make manual adjustments to the voltages, but some mobos aren't even adhering to those manual values or are misreporting voltages.
For the sake of existing owners, I hope that stuff gets fixed soon. Noticed the AGESA/BIOS updates is an ongoing fiasco too
the 7000X3D series is still really good, but I would recommend waiting a generation tbh
the 8000X3D will not have growing pains like the 7000X3D will
I'll wait anyway, for le APU and ITX board

as far as I can tell my 7950X3D hasn’t started that self-destruction process because the Vcore was always under 1.3v

ive been trying to figure out if i should go with an i7-13700k or a 7800X3D (after that nasty issue is resolved) for FF14/WoW
the former is the better all-rounder, sure, but I think the high cache in the latter would seriously pay off in highly populated areas. But reviewers only use the benchmarking tool and I feel that doesn't paint an accurate picture of real gameplay.
@deep sapphire hows that 13700k doing in limsa at 4k
if I buy a 13th gen I want a 13900k because I already had a 700k and regretted not getting the 900k lol
the high cache helps quite a bit in MMORPGs and AM5 will last for quite a while as a platform so you will have upgrades in the future as well with the same motherboard and ram
but for intel if you ever want to upgrade from the 13700k ull have to swap motherboard with the cpu
basically
if you find a good bundle for the 13700k with DDR5 ram then go for it
otherwise AM5 has longevity and performance going for it
(once the stupid voltage issues are resolved)
if you want cheap vcache
the 5800X3D AM4 is still great
it competes with intel 13th gen competitively
somehow
so in detail
Is this technology
AM5: The most expensive but has longevity as a platform and will get supported, has the current best performance in games.
Intel 13th Gen: All-rounder, good productivity and good in games, worth it in a bundle with DDR5 ram or Mobo, platform is at the end of its life, no new CPUs will come out for it.
AM4 5800X3D: The best performance per dollar right now, competes with Intel 13th Gen in gaming performance, is at the end of its life.
I joined the discussion on /r/hardware about that and it was like
asus is a scumbag company
"yea I know, I'm never buying an asus motherboard again"
"idk dude, all the other brands are shit too"
I’ve never had problems with ASUS personally but I do agree this was a pretty bad oversight
Fantastic
I've never had problems with asus either tbh
It’s a total crapshoot with boards. I’ve heard asrock sucks, MSI sucks yadda yadda
personally
I've never really had motherboard issues ever
my first motherboard
was an Asrock h81
it was for a dual core intel
then it was an asrock z97 extreme4
ASRock Super Alloy, - XXL Aluminum Alloy Heatsink, - Premium Alloy Choke (Reduces 70% core loss compared to iron powder choke), - Dual-Stack MOSFET (DSM), - NexFET™ MOSFET, - Nichicon 12K Platinum Caps (100% Japan made high quality conductive polymer capacitors), - Sapphire Black PCB; Supports 5th Generation Intel Core™ i7 / i5 / i3 / Pentium / ...
then I had an ASUS x470 Prime
now I have a b550 gigabyte aorus elite v2
now that I look at it
that z97 asrock board was stacked as fuck
lmao
really reminds me as to how much companies cheapen out on parts nowdays
One thing people love to ignore is AMD’s infamous firmware bullshit that always has small issues and they have to constantly issue updates which is a toss up if your board vendor even bothers to update it
A customer shouldn’t have to even touch the firmware in the first place shit should just work
personally my x470 board was always supported by ASUS firmware-wise
that is the unfortunate thing with AMD tbh
you need to wait a bit until things cook before getting anything from that gen
Which again goes back to my point I’ve been saying all these years lol. I use to be an AMD fanboy but its always been like this
yeah it always has, their products are good but they always need time to cook and some finagling with bios stuff
The only Intel chipset I had some annoyance with was X58 but that was more of a design flaw with how they handled SATA 6
intel works out of the box but may lack future CPU support
AMD needs bios updates and time to cook but supports more CPUs
so it just depends on how tech literate each person is
tech illiterate people may benefit from intel more as they do not have to bother with anything
it certainly helped me back when I was a teen and did not know about stuff
but now that I know about stuff more and how to mess with the bios and update it, AMD appeals to me more because of future support
I like the idea of buying one motherboard for one cpu, keeping the cpu for 4-5 years
then upgrading to top-of-the-line then without needing anything else and keeping it for another 4-5yrs
Which personally I’m fine with as I’ve never built a new system within a few years usually I’ll go 3-4 years minimum which by then you might as well buy a new board but that’s just my opinion
depends on new techs I guess for me
what new boards offer than old ones
boards are becoming increasingly advanced nowdays, we basically got all the new techs we could have gotten
PCIe 4 is good enough for all GPUs
we have ddr5
sata and m2
what else is there
Yeah it’s not like the 90s or 00s when shit felt obsolete after 3 years lmao
You can get by fine with most hardware 5+ years
I had that 1070 and it served me well
i still have a 1070 ti
But I wanted to go 4K and even overwatch would probably run like shit
been looking for a reason to upgrade but i don't play fps anymore
and not felt compelled yet
i really woulda upgraded during the 20XX series if not for the egregious supply issues and scalping
but when i didn't, then suddenly the 'need' to upgrade became a lot less urgent
this is probably the best possible time for an nvidia/amd upgrade
yeah but it was like an 8 year old card
i just wanted to upgrade lol
then i didn't because of all the shenanigans in the generation
30xx was decent on the higher end but haha supply and scalping
and i was like "huh, i don't feel like i'm missing out actually"
40xx is good but too expensive
tbh the 1070 is fine for me but
its very old now and I am concerned about it dying
and then there is me with still a 980 in my second pc
do you actively use it
!hank

by this, i mean 30xx has no stock issues and both the 30xx and 6xxx series cards are price reduced significantly. the 3070/6800 (even the Ti/XT models) is in that sweet spot of performance value
unironically same
spend $7000 on a super rig just to get 90 fps in limsa
I was only getting 45 FPS at 1440P on my old setup. Seeing 90-110 at 4K is pretty sweet
Cat girls high def 4K
what was your old setup?
the 2017 special
6700K and 1070
ahh ok
i think the things that make a 7800x3d attractive to me are the lower price, the (potentially) better thermals, and the AM5 socket being brand new for this year vs the LGA1700 socket being old news that is about to be abandoned forever
intel: hell yea, next socket is LGA1701, and that extra pin is a new super important pin! (it's a ground that isn't connected to anything)
amd: we left out a ground pin connection on the socket layout, so your CPU might melt sometimes
but did they? or did asus just juice the hell out of the cpu
(that is not a new problem. auto OC on asus boards has historically given the CPU a lot of juice)
apparently the problem is a NC pin that shouldn't be NC
(Asus' firmware dev's logic being: higher vcore means fewer crashes when OCing!)
hmm that's a different conclusion than the one I'd been hearing
I thought I saw something about there being a thermal issue induced by overloading a pin, because one of them wasn't connected
ohhh
so the nc pin is being powered on the mb side? lol
haha this comment
192GB at DDR5-6000 has never been stable on AM5, hell even z790 boards will struggle to get 192GB of RAM running at DDR5-6000, you always have to reduce memory speeds if you are using such ridiculous amounts of memory.
ridiculous amounts of memory
ahhhh pc gamign hardware sucks
it may be a "both sides are to blame" situation here. we don't know specifics yet, but it stands to reason that AMD didn't communicate/police appropriate tolerances with the chipset and/or their AGESA firmware is bugged.
All manufacturers across certain models are experiencing bugs regarding voltage readings and configurations, so my personal guess is to look at the constant variable between them all. ASUS is unique in that they're experiencing a separate issue: the voltage protection failing. Combine the two and there's your chip/socket melting.
imo, 192GB is a ridiculous amount of RAM for a consumer desktop with hardware built for and marketed towards power users and gamers. Redundancy and capacity is heavily sacrificed for cost-effective performance at a reasonable power/thermal package that can comfortably exist in a quiet, air-conditioned home/office.
same reason why consumer home networking hardware is garbage lol. of course im not excusing that it sucks that we rely on some awful router/firewall/AP/switch combo with an underpowered processor and a small fan inside a small box.
This is the only answer. nods
They're not wrong. Servers aren't known for memory speed. I'm not aware of DDR5 server speeds, but I assume they're probably DDR5-4800. Much like the majority of Xeon servers used DDR4-2400 or 2666
Lmao I love how you made this a sticker
I laughed pretty hard when I saw this
you correct ive only seen 4800mt enter our DCs
I think there may have been some higher end Xeons more recently that could address up to 3200mt DDR4 but I don't think most were rich enough for that heh
too bad the game textures hold 4k back
Reshade and texture packs help a little
yeah but everytime you have to update it becomes a mess having to always reenable the shit
True
Yeah, looks like the final gen of DDR4 Xeon-W cpus reached DDR4-3200, up from 2933. And server were at 2666.
So it's not surprising with DDR5 still relatively newish, that memory controllers don't do well at higher clocks.
Although I imagine that also depends on what Rank the memory is, right?
1R vs 2R etc.
Huh... the lowest end current Xeons are DDR5-4400 even. Isn't that below the min JDEC spec?
This is what I’m saying as well. Like ASUS is shitty for trying to negate warranty claims yes but why would they release a product with such a massive blunder that could cause catastrophic failure and even potentially cause a fire. They aren’t going to risk that liability at any cost just for some supposed performance gains. AMD should be doing more to regulate the specifics of what it’s partners are releasing if this is considered a common practice (other vendors were caught doing the same thing they just had a better design to mitigate the massive failure)
AMD
I doubt ASUS actually gives any shit about their customers
they're not even an american company so their fears of a lawsuit over a fire are probably lower than they should be
I keep saying this is what we get when all the companies making hardware are just taiwanese firms that have a couple salespeople in some random office in los angeles
for foxconn or whoever actually makes the motherboards, it's just a side gig they do when they're not busy building iphones
i mean, AMD communication or not, a failing OCP is purely asus' responsibility
the one thing i'm still laughing about
is the only defense ASUS fanboys can come up with about asus being a trash company
all hardware companies are trash it just depends how obvious it is or if they get caught or not
... ASUS probably makes more money selling people broken routers that die after the warranty ends.
400$ router with 10 antennas
donut router
you laugh but this is peak radio emission design
why does that speaker have so many ports
How many miles do I need to drive a Chevy Silverado to reset it and get the engine light off to pass inspection?
Now that you mention it, my unifi dream machine has a speaker in it
sadly it's not usable as a bluetooth speaker, although i think it also has bluetooth
@deep sapphire just ping me whenever, oh resident Chevrolet fanatic! And does it need to be done on different trips, or can it be in one sitting? Mechanic said 100 miles. I’m like wtf
Question:
What would y'all recommend for a 240mm/280mm AIO for an SFF build?
That isn't Corsair because the case won't have room for the controller and fuck that cabling.
EDIT: Also Arctic probably won't work because of the extra thick rad.
Buy a bluetooth ODB reader for $15-20 and reset it with a phone app
Then I see “how to” videos on google, saying idle for x minutes, accelerate to 55 for 3 minutes then coast down to 20 mph without braking
I’m like wtf even is this
They replaced the fuel pressure sensor thingamajig if that helps narrow down the query
I just bought a desk, maybe I’ll buy a speaker…
outside of corsair and artic the rest are pretty much all the same asetek cooler in a different looking package
outside of corsair/arctic, lian li would be my first choice, followed maybe by nzxt, but then there's also stuff from fractal, coolermaster, evga, etca
I was looking at EK because they apparently have a non-Asetek cooler
also
And are rated up there with Arctic
some corsairs have built in controllers
but then you don't get rgb lights
yea that's cool, I knew about the EK coolers but I didn't know they were highly rated
The problem is it's going to be the Meshroom S with a Red Devil 7900 XTX
Technically the Arctic would fit, but the Red Devil won't leave enough room for the cables and would press right up against the the thicker Arctic Rad
And definitely won't leave room for the Corsair controller for any of the more modern AIOs
as mentioned before, corsair does make an aio that doesn't use a separate controller
that said
it's still more wiring than a lian li would have
bbut lian li only makes theirs in 240mm
hmm but even that isn;'t so great
Introduction Lian Li needs no introduction since they are among the old players in the market and are popular for their famous PC cases and related accessories. They are in the business for over 37 years and also provide OEM and ODM services that help develop small start-up products or enables large-scale high-quality manufacturing of […]
yea looking at the reviews they're all about the same
so go with whatever turns ya on ^^
Depends on the code, you can reset it with a scan tool or if it’s older you can just unplug the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and that should reset it
Some codes are stored permanently like ABS lights but yeah you can just rent a scan tool at any auto part store for free and do it in the parking lot
if it weren't for the hollowbody's goofy "ma look I'm a violin!" holes, I think I'd be interested
it's like half les paul, half SG, half mustache guitar
full agree
They said it needs to be driven and reset a drive cycle or whatever
I’m just wondering if I really need to drive it 100 miles x_X
