That said, markups are always going to be high on low volume high quality goods.

Costs a lot for R&D and supply chain/maintenance etc.

They run a sale on 25% off cleaning in February, but I need new handlebars and stem bc I found out the ones on the bike when I bought it were aftermarket and causing me back pain and numbness in my left elbow after long rides. So I got fitted and they recommended them in a specific size. Also apparently my chain is worn out so I got a new one of that too. Apparently 2000km of riding is 75% wear

What matters more to you atm? Having the extra screen real-estate or having more graphical power?
Keep in mind a 1440p ultrawide with a 3060 is going to struggle in new games unless you're on like medium settings

1080p is ~2M pixels. (2560x) 1440p is ~3.6M pixels. 3440 x 1440 is ~5M pixels to fill per frame.

2.5x the fillrate required.

That said, the power required isn't linear for pure fillrate so you don't need 2.5x more card for that over 1080p. The totally empirical evidence of "one person on reddit" says that 3440x1440p was about a 15% drop in framerate for them over 2560x1440p on a 3070.
