I guess the only real way to tell the difference between them at a distance is the Boeing tail wing has a hard angle that connects further up the body, whereas the A320 is a slight curve. And the wingtips are curved up more on the 737. Otherwise they both have the "tail nozzle"

so you always want a good amount of fuel left for the full journey
