Streaming tends to go for a while, so you should focus on making yourself comfortable with your set up before all else. At least in my opinion. Decent headphones, a good monitor set up, decent peripherals etc.

I'm so happy with my set up and I'll use any excuse to share it. I have multiple lamps that I can change the temperature so my eyes don't get tired, a nice monitor that doesn't cause fatigue or weariness and a secondary monitor that's cheaper but out of my fov for misc stuff

I think you need to work for a really big company for that to be a thing

in my company (what's it, 600-ish people now?) our engineering teams comb the resumes ourselves

HR is only responsible for filtering out candidates that wouldn't be allowed to work on our projects

but beyond that, it's up to us to determine if their experience is relevant or if they have enough for the position they applied for

I can understand MS, google, any other fortune 50 kinda company using data tools (or AI tools) to mine through resumes though, since they get thousands and thousands

where i work is nowhere near that popular lol. as a company I'm not sure how many we get. for software devs we probably get 2-3 dozen a month.
