you can't split a cable without drastically reducing the bandwidth it has. You can however just use a switch.

so here's the thing

when you use a switch you are limited to the upstream bandwidth of the switch

suppose you upgraded from gigabit internet to 10gig internet

i mean your router would probably only handle 2-3gig anyway but supposing it did 10gig

your poe switch will be 1gig uplink

everything connected to it shares that 1gig uplink

if you put another switch on that wall between the 2 bedrooms, they'd also share a 1gig uplink

if all the rooms have an ethernet switch that goes straight to the router, they each get their own 1gig connection to the router

i super highly doubt this will be anything to worry about any time soon

you;d wanna get a wallplate with 2 ethernet jacks

one that connects directly to that wallplate lol
