it's basically a small version of automotive wiring disasters. the pins become damaged in a way that doesnt allow full contact and it starts arcing internally. the result is heat
the easy fix is to change the pin size on the connector (in the adapter) so that it spreads to fill the available room. this will mean higher force to plug power in but it's easier than the alternative. the other option is to make a custom block adapter that accepts 8 pin pcie directly (to eliminate the tortional stress the cabling has)

ive basically made it past heavensward, and while it was okay up until then, during it some updates caused immense stuttering, which i understood at the time was due to my laptop specs and the fact that AMD GPU's commonly had that problem
the issue now being, ive taken a break for half a year
and now logging back on, i find myself barely breaking 20 fps (used to run at 30-35 before) and the audio stuttering is very VERY permanent
id like to try overclocking as i already have all ffxiv settings at the lowest, but any advice or fresh perspectives would be very helpful!

corsair, logitech, and razer also have api plugins for the rgb software so that it can be interactive with games too ... but i think that's rarely used

the catch is you have to use the thermal probes that the commander pro comes from as the input for your fan curves
