Laser printers use toner which is like a carbon powder and then a laser "burns" it onto the page

So while your average ink cartridge can print like maybe 250pgs tops, the average toner cartridge is like 1500 and the higher capacity ones can do like 3-5k pgs text

And the price of a toner cartridge is about the same as one set of ink cartridges

Unless you print color a lot it makes no sense to not just buy a regular laser these days since they only cost like $125-150
