Oh
both of those are 1440p cards
So either keep my monitor I know nothing about or save some monies and invest in a 1440p monitor
or did they manage to actually sell it for that much to someone
yea but it wasn't worth that much haha
1440p is nice but not absolutely necessary
1440 good for games i would tbh never go back to 1080 at this point
you get more screen space and more fidelity
also good for daily drive desktop
^
4k at 100% even on a 27 just isnt there
although I do torture myself with my work laptop on 4k at 100% with 15in because I can fit more shit
For what
just doing stuff daily with your desktop pc, such as gaming or browsing etc
Oh
1440p in a couple months it is
I should look up my current monitor and see what people say about it
what is your current monitor
Uhh
Let me grab the box
ASUS TUF Gaming VG249
I walked into Best Buy last year and told the dude I wanted a monitor and that's what I walked out with
that is actually ok for 1080p
Yeah
the dude at least gave you a good 1080p monitor
there are quite a lot of good 1440p displays nowdays
they cost more than 1080p displays tho
27 in, dont go above but i doubt if you could really find any monitors above or below that spec
Oh
My current monitor is 23.8"
Is there much of a size difference physically between 24" and 27"?
more monitors = more better
Are you on Discord while coding while also gaming???
I have 4 if you count the tab or TV
if you want a model then LG 27GP850 is good
Give me a model in like two months maybe
I need to restock my funds first from ordering all these parts
that lg is like 350-400$ or something
I think my 6800 XT supports up to like four monitors so I'll be able to keep my VG249 as a second monitor for Discord and YT or something
yea your max is 4, more GPUs for more monitors
If I go for a 1440p 144Hz monitor is HDMI fine or should I pick up a DP cable
DP needed
Of course it's needed
most displays I bought
More money to spend
had the cable come in the box
i just friggin bought this one last year and it's great
but apparently that is not the norm
ull probably be fine if the cables come in the box
i remember once i bought an LCD and it had both dvi and vga inputs
... it only came with a vga cable
hdmi can do 1440p144 if you have 2.0..b?
also most good displays now are 165-240hz
look for any high refreshrate display not just 144
cant think of any monitors that have 2.1+ though so almost all refresh is DP because ^^ 1440p165-240 or 4k144
the 4k 144s will probably have 2.1
but half of them are TVs so lol
Sounds expensive
And on Best Buy's website it is
Price difference of $70 between a 144Hz and 165Hz monitor
And they're basically identical
Is that you playing Division 2 right now
yea no point spending more on 144 vs 165 unless panel/features much better, 240hz though zoom zoom
What in the fuck
Do I need more than 144Hz if the most intensive game I'm going to play for the foreseeable future is CoD: Black Ops Cold War?
nah I meant do not restrict yourself to just 144 there are more apples on the tree so to say
refresh rate is subjective to whether or not you think the motion blur reduction is worth it (plus relative hardware performance)
144 is good
more expensive apples
if ur a hardcore gamer you must buy the 1080p360hz monitor
ubisoft game, u dont
its all subjective but tbh I think most monitors in the 1440 range that are 60hz will be similarly priced to 144hz gamer monitors so unless you really wanna cover adobe RGB or DCPI3 it wont matter to just roll a 144
ngl though at work I've thought about trying to get them to buy me 144hz+ monitors because 60hz is horrifically unusable for me with a mouse
already have my own mech keyboard because rubberdome sucks! now I'm gonna bring in my own mouse too
I know people that their only jobs are paperwork and clicking things on their computer all day and they bring in their RGB mechanical keyboard and 16 button RGB mice

Amazon
Do I trust Amazon enough to ship me a not broken monitor
On the other hand I just ordered $1,728 worth of PC from them
does amazon US have a good return policy
honestly understandable. I got mad because my rubberdome was skipping a handful of keys so I brought my TKL in. I deal with the $9 mouse sensor which has an accuracy level of like +/- 20 pixels but now.. I have like 6 mice at home I can use
like amazon germany has
amazon bends over backwards for customers so yeah
amazon corporate policy is they'd rather lose money than ruin customer relations
My mom (I used her account) has Amazon Prime so I have 30 days from the time I sign for my parts and pick them up to return them
And the return is free
And I can return them for basically anything that isn't user error
I've seen people get empty boxes
honestly i've returned shit to amazon that's been opened but didnt work for me and they didnt even question it
they couldve easily just said nah you used this
I've also seen people order 2000 series and then open the box and there's like a 3080 Ti in it or something
I also goofed and forgot to ask for the option for most of the parts to be shipped in Amazon boxes and not as they are
Now the question is
Do I open it at the UPS store
Or when I get home with it
where u open it doesnt matter
I see no problem with that!
Then do one long video where I unbox everything
if the package is very obviously damaged to the point where you think it would cause a component issue, just refuse it
google

more google
maybe run this in VS
google why this doesnt work

solution! delivered. doesn't work. get paid to fix it
They need comfortable keyboards though for doing all that typing
for sure
idk what the point is in shaming people for buying hardware they "don't need" lol
i buy what i want cuz I like to
I bought a 6800 XT even though most of the shit I play runs at 60+ fps on a freaking 1060 because I could
And because Cold War needs something stronger than a 1060

I recommend the steelseries qck one
smh you're old and haven't seen any classic anime?
My keyboard is SteelSeries
Never fucking heard of them until I went keyboard shopping
ur waifus are super new age I'd expect like late teens or early 20s to be into
ah chobits..
I was expecting this to be expensive
back when I was a teen
It's $27
+$20 shipping minimum. yen is shit right now so that's why its cheap but I bought mine for $120

quick unaltered pic of my keyboard area
all the pro gamers use the hayate otsu and it was out of stock for like a solid year after its release lol

Speaking of fans
and yea $64.99 with a $10 off coupon that brings it down to $54.99.......
hehe
can always get the arctic 5 pack! ๐
unless you want something else
gamer fans
like unifans
I am not sure about deepcools support policy tho
noctua for sure supports their buyers tho with new kits with every new gen
for free
I don't care for RGB because my PC is going to be on my left so I won't be able to see any RGB
noctua are my real homies
I only got the P400A Digital because extra fan
i think the lian li al120s are really pretty
but the majority of the fans in my computer are corsair MLs
I need to double-check my P400A and see what size fans it fits
I want to say 140mm but I could be wrong and they're all 120mm spaces
but also my fans are mostly from 2018
i don't think the unifan existed yet
i think the p400 digital you're ordering comes with 3x120mm rgb?

The middle one is coming off and going on the back
why the middle one?
yea you have a couple options
It'll look better than taking the top or bottom one off
you could get 3 nicer rgb fans for the front, or just get 3 regular fans for the top/back
I just need regular fans
I sit on the right side of my desk so my PC will be on the left
also you can find some options that are really cheap
for example

5 bucks
uh oh zalman
-shrug-
I have a 6800 XT I don't think I can afford to be cheap on case fans
Wdym
avoid the low noise fans
Why
i forgot and have at least one in there
I'm dumb
you will want to have your fans on a curve so that they are quiet when your comp is idle
I keep saying 3080 but I don't
but move a lot of air when you're playing games
Wdym curve
you set it up so that the fan speed adjusts with temperature
shouldn't that be automatic
it's not hard
ehhh?
sometimes?
iirc on my asus board it wasn't automatic, but there was a wizard that would try and determine 'optimal'
i'm not sure it actually did
I ended up buying a corsair commander pro because I fucking hated using asus' "fan xpert" BS and rebooting into the BIOS to mess with fan curves
but i might be more bothered by fan noise
the default curves can be way too aggressive sometimes
like.. cpu at 50c?! RUN FANS FULL BLAST OMFG ITS GONNA DIE
what
Ice, the 4070 will be fucking 2000 on launch
because jensen wants a new leather jacket
based on google there are timespy scores on current 3080s that are higher than the 4080s estimate of 15000
legit, at this point, I don't trust the kopite guy
or rather
i dont trust nvidia
intake = take in air
exhaust = push out air
I meant more like their orientation
At least this Jensen never asked for it
they are asexual
the fan has two sides. the side with the frame is the exhaust side (air comes out the frame side)
Why are you like this
spine side is the direction
Explain
lol the other way
is to just plug the thing in ๐
feel which direction the air is going
this is the simplest way tbh
my case is really old at this point as so are its fans, do old fans need replacement if they are old?
or it does not matter?
only if they start rattling and making lots of noise
they work fine
ahh ok
So what I'm hearing is I'll probably need to go buy fans for my P400A because all three front fans that come with it are going to be intake fans

case is a corsair clear carbide 600c
i mean it just depends which way they're pointed ๐
gonna take u out back
if ur fan starts makin noise just fill that bitch up with some oil
Wouldn't all three point the same way?
dragging you to brazil then
i meant, if you took the fan off and put it elsewhere
hopefully yes hopefully they're all pointing the same way ๐
Oh
my pc is fine idle but when I am gaming it starts getting loud but not loud enough to push through my noise cancelling headphones
I mean I was planning to just take one of the three and slap it on the back
for like $10 you should just get another fan
3 intake 1-2 exhaust is fine
hmmmm
Why do you think I bought the P400A Digital?
yea that's the cheapest option
The P400A comes with two fans
I get that
exhaust fans are cheap
u cant prove this
$20 for a 3 pack
I'll get paid again right around the time I get my parts so I'll just walk into Best Buy and buy fans
perfect
Which leads to my next question
Are three 120mm intake fans or two 140mm intake fans better
generally doesnt matter
So slap 120mm fans all over my P400A
yes.
Cause I can fit six of them in it
in most cases your benchmark is CFM vs dB so you'd need to compare what 3x120 vs 2x140s would be
3x120mm and 2x140mm will probably move roughly the same amount of air
the 2x140mm will do it quieter
CFM
most fans I see on my local site are from 3 euro all the way to 25
greek letter
YOUR MOM IN BED WITH ME
THOUGHT OF THAT MYSELF
IM VERY PROUD
13 fans
What
How
What the fuck
Is your case a whole ass nightstand or something
This looks expensive
Are you running a 12900K with that 3090 too
Is that all custom watercooling
Wait what do you need three radiators for
meanwhile me: 308012gb dropped to 770 euro but its still too expensive so I am gonna wait
the low income life is tough
It really is
Otherwise I'd have gotten the 12700K
And a 2TB m.2
Will it be a bad idea to plug my PC into a surge protected power strip that also has my monitor and wifi on it
Probably
Wait my monitor isn't on it
It's about to be
sexy
i will say
it's a bloody shame that motherboard doesn't work right
it looks so nice
normal M.2 drives are cheaper than nvmes right?
uhhh
i dunoe now
i mean the one you attach directly to the mobo is more expensive right
M.2 is more expensive than SATA but usually not by much, so itโs still generally reasonable
I guess that depends on how high end the drives are
2280 is the most common form factor; you can find 2230 and 2242 drives but not as easily as 2280
so if you want a 1TB 2230 drive for, say, a Steam Deck, gl with that
Just stop sleeping and take a 2nd fulltime job, DUH. Your bootstraps barely look tugged at

sadly I do not have the energy for that haha
Considering how much you use them video cards are a pretty good value... That's one way to look at it anyway
Working a second full time job is a pretty legit way to get ahead in life not gonna lie
Letโs say youโre making $20 an hour at both jobs and hitting 80 hours a week
You could take a gamble on buying a used 3080 then. Can get them for like 500 then. The crypto market imploded not too long after they came out, so even miner cards shouldn't have much wear on them
Except you hate your life bc all you're doing is working and getting 7hrs sleep
And you eat like shit bc you don't have time to cook
Yeah thereโs only 24 hours in a day unfortunately and sacrifices will have to be made
I did have a 2nd job once, but that was for like an extra 15hrs a week, not 40 heh
And I only did that for like 9 months before I ditched the 2nd job
Tbh you get used to it
Is that what you did? Iโve heard about these programs for software coding before
Iโd be curious to know if itโs also an instant transition into a job
Yeah thatโs the catch
If it only costed $282 bucks and 6 months of your life more people would be doing it
Better outlook than traditional uni
True as well
Sitting in front of a screen all day
And Iโm sure google is always hungry for new coders/software engineers
Well nowadays with everyone going remote, it wouldnโt be a bad idea to pursue
Well ideally one should work smart and hard
I look at it as optimizing your $/time
Udemy is also good. Pluralsight is nice too, but costs a bit more
Well for one never put yourself in a position to get taken advantage of and screwed over lol
Thatโs just fundamental human survival instincts
Yeah there is unfortunately a balance to be made in proving your competence. Don't want to get the deliverables done TOO fast or they just make you do twice the work and wont promote you bc you're "too valuable"
Oh they were talking about Google specifically?
This can be offset through hard work and experience
3 full time jobs would equate to 120 hours a week
that might be humanly impossible to sustain lol
ngmi
Realistically most places won't even give you 40hrs anymore for hourly bc they want to deny benefits. So you'd be 3x 30hrs a week
Good news: I have Amazon charges going through (hopefully this means the items are ready to be shipped out)
Bad news: I have a fucking field exercise (am military) literally a day or two after all of my parts are expected to be delivered

Better hope the shipping isn't late
I'm having everything shipped to my po box at the ups store on base

If my prior delivery history holds I should receive everything on time or even a day early

But this is also my first time ordering PC parts
What did you get
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
I see the motherboard prices have also come down a lot. I remember about a year ago that same board was like $215
Is the 6800XT equiv to a 3080 then?
I know the noctua fans are really good, but I just prefer not having a heatsink take up 75% of the interior of the case these days so I lean towards AIOs
I watched Gamers Nexus' 6800 XT review and in most cases it's actually a bit better than the 3080
Also that 6800 XT was $670 versus the cheapest 3080 I could find being $750
I almost went for a $650 3070 Ti but @real edge talked me out of that bad financial decision
Depending on how many games you like storing, you might want to pick up another cheaper SSD. 1TB pcie3 can be had for like $80-90 now
Or could go YOLO on like an 8TB HDD for $150-200
My choices were either a 3070 that was a whopping $516 or the 6800 XT
I just hope they fixed the driver issues for your sake then but they probably ahve at this point since those cards are almost 2 years old
I'm aware that FFXIV apparently throws a fit with AMD GPUs
oh that's a feature of AMD video drivers
amd gpus generally have dodgy drivers so I hope that you win the gamble
FFXIV throws a fit for a lot of things
Does AMD have an app you can pull drivers from like how Nvidia GPUs have GeForce Experience?
hard pass on geforce experience anyway
But why
bloat
i have techpowerup email me when new drivers drop lol
generally though i don't update too often
I don't need the overlay, or the clip thing
i'm not playing new games to begin with
General rule for drivers is don't update if you aren't having problems
updates bios for fun
Because new drivers might create problems?
it doesn't happen often but it does happen
Because the drivers are a giant blob covering hundreds of card variations, so sometimes things get broken for older cards when updating with new stuff
And very rarely will a new driver provide performance gains for an older card beyond maybe the first 6 months
Although I have heard it said that AMD is more common for that to be a thing than Nvidia. But largely bc their initial drivers are so bad it takes them awhile to dial them in
My friend has a scrapper that watches the Nvidia driver direct download site and updates us on discord whenever there's a major update
Suprisingly AMDs GeForce experience is much much much better then Nvidias lol
Is that really necessary to be that on top of driver updates for the GPU? ๐ค
Like so much better
I mean, the four of us do system integration
Do you run stability testing on each new driver then or something?
It just makes it easier for us to:
- Get the newest drivers when setting up systems (me)
2.if there is a critical update that effects the applications or implementation of a client we can update it for them
3.If we have super left field issues we can refer to them
Not really no
A good example is a random driver update that breaks premiere during some critical work
That shit is just fucked, so we can rewind the driver a few revisions and call it a day
hey where's uh @burnt swallow oh here. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097M7MW9M

I saw that one
I grabbed the RX 6800 XT instead
That 3070 mightily tempted me though
Everything
oooo
so now you get to anticipate the packages and then building!
I can't wait to see how it turns out ^^
Did you buy a monitor
I have a monitor already
But a 6800xt is wasted on 1080p
So in a month when I have more monies I'll invest in a 1440p monitor
the monitor
Nice
And my 1080p monitor will become my Discord/YT display
The LG 27GP850?
Yeah pretty sure that's the same model
That's mine
heh
It's pretty
Intel i5-12600K
Noctua NH-D15S
Radeon RX 6800 XT
Kingston Fury Beast 32 GB DDR5 5200MHz RAM CL40
MSI Pro Z690-A Mobo
Samsung 980 Pro 1TB PCIe 4.0 m.2
EVGA Supernova 750 GT 80+ Gold 750W
Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital
Total price: $1,803 after taxes
pretty good
hmm too bad powercolor didn't; make the 6800xt or 6900xt in hellhound flavor
white pcb. kinda neat.
I'm aware that the D15S is a little overkill for the 12600K but it's a good investment for when 13th gen comes out if I upgrade to that or if I upgrade to the 12700K later on
I don't think it's overkill at all
the D15S on your 12600k will just mean you can run the fans slower/quieter
like IMHO you can never have too much cooling capacity
'overkill' my butt ๐
plus if you upgrade, it's one less thing to buy
and these dang things run hot anyway
my bet is your temps will still go into the 60s-70s when gaming anyway
maybe i'm wrong
The only upgrade I have currently planned for after I get everything is two 140mm fans and a 120mm fan so I have all available fan spaces being used
Qbittorrent is fine
Until then one of the front fans is coming off and getting slapped on the back
downloading linux, are we? ๐ดโโ ๏ธ
I had bittorrent on my work laptop for ages for downloading linux distros >>
uhm
But hell fuck no I'm not spending no $150 on a windows key
Pro lets me do more than Home
pro lets you use bitlocker ๐
Imagine using Home edition
the discount is really really good
Any decent private tracker allows qbittorrent
PFFT
IPT is trash, p2w bullshit scum who steal peers and ddos legit trackers
This is a tangent
I have to use an older version of qbittorrent with bakabt but it isn't a big deal
And winactivate for Windows

MAS is so good now, but I'm guessing we can't discuss that here
I think my Win10 Pro atm is from a friend's MSDN but I think I could still upgrade my old Win7 key to 11 if I upgrade this fall and feel like I need 11 at some point.
What noise? The aliasing?
wait for 7.0 at this point lol
I haven't really used PS in a few years so I dunno what the recommended process is anymore. When I used to do fansubs it was like warpsharp and for manga there was Topaz Denoise. Not sure how well it would work on something that dark and without clearly defined edges tho
I need like
A checklist
For everything I should do once I have all my parts on hand
Starting with recording me unboxing them of course
start with the motherboard
also plug in things like the PSU mobo connectors before you screw in the mobo, or you end up like me clipping them in with chopsticks
wish I'd bought a bigger case tbh
I wanted to laugh at the idea, but it's actually a good idea, if you unbox and find a rock or something
@tame fulcrum said he's seen a video of somebody opening their 3090 and it was a bag of sand

you should see the fuckin crap they pull at home depot
you can end up with old broken tools in brand new packaging all the fuckin time
are you using razer synapse?
ew no
nah they won't figure out how to do shader precaching
Ask FromSoftware how well that went for them
Or Square Enix themselves
I was an iTunes kid
Cheap, but not especially fast
yeah cheap but not a great kit lol
WINAMP IT REALLY WHIPS THR LLAMAS ASS
hmm... kinda curious
my friend and I have been talking shop on PC building
he's been more active in it, looking at pre-builts as well
according to him, prebuilts have a similar price to self-builds
was wondering if it's a similar situation with you guys
depending on the deals you find, they can even be cheaper than building yourself
but you lose control over part selection to a degree
ye that was my argument for self-builds
and a viable upgrade path vs something like, an alienware
prebuilt is better for some people
ye. but my friend has built before
like Ice should have bought prebuilt
but ye, was just curious on how you guys are
I think im the anti-Ice
i can't buy pre-builts
my own self-build still runs so well
im actually quite pleased with it
like, really proud
your laptop doesn't count though
I'm talking about pre-built desktops from an established manufacturer/builder
not a janky custom boutique laptop
tbh
my old ASUS laptop
also kicked the bucket after... 5 years of service?
I mean, that's p good
but
still
that's about what you expect from a laptop tbh
thats really good for a laptop to be honest
laptop depreciation just makes it so hard to justify a gaming laptop of any sort
my mothers craptop still works after many years but its so shit that its barely working right for her due to how severely outdated the hardware is :<
I'm unsubbed so I can't help you out at the moment, if you're still struggling when I come back for 6.2 I'll see what I can do
oh im not really struggling im just poor because im new
@royal forge I'm huge on avoiding prebuilts solely from how bad and varied their build quality is.
The dynamic got weird with the GPU prices spiking, but generally self-built is cheaper by about 25-30% historically. And you get higher quality parts since only the smaller system integrators tend to use off-the-shelf SKUs for parts
The biggest issue is usually wonky cases and fan setups
Oh right and shit OEM branded parts
I fucking hate their cases and unamed motherboards
China wall PSUs
That's what i meant by part SKUs... bc even if the parts are from a brand you know, its usually some special SKU only for them that has corners cut somehow
Cheap fans
Yep
If someone you know can build PCs, imo don't even consider prebuilts.
There are SIs that will use all off the shelf parts, but their costs are higher then
And that still doesn't guarantee the build quality is great... it's always best to check all the connections are snug and see how they routed things
The answer is almost always terrible or super unoptimal
Also check the bios bc at the very least they often don't turn on XMP et al bc its technically "overclocking"
I've had so many prebuilt systems with fans just randomly slapped in, cables blocking fans, a literal SSD covering intake, things not plugged in, headers snapped, damaged pcie, broken mounting brackets for CPU cooler, bent m.2
Etc
I used to be partnered with NZXT BLD, but after a few things I didn't renew after last year
It's the usual, I'm sure they have unreasonable time quotas where they want one system made every 10mins or something
Yeah, and not every underpaid employee would care about fan orientation or proper cable management
rn iBuyPower is on my maximum shitlist
I had a system from them with a cracked am4 socket

2020 I had around 6 systems that I diagnosed from them
Fuck that
When I worked for an SI I could finish my station in like 8mins, but that is with all parts provided on a tray and in those days it was just the CPU, GPU, 1 HDD and maybe 1 system fan you put into the case. Oh, and the optical drive.
Yeah I've never heard good things about ibuypower
Cyberpowerpc used to be decent I think, but as they got bigger they started cutting corners as well
I dont monitor loop temp
I just run a benchmark for 48hrs and see where the temperature of the components stabilize at
You know I always thought it was a meme to lose 10mm but I bought a massive bulk packet with like 200 and after a year and a half there's like 20 left kinda thing
Bruh
Your components will thermal shut down before your tubes will melt
It's also that if ppl know there is a giant bag of them they won't be as careful with them
We put ours in a tampon dispenser we found at the scrap yard
You know the coolant would boil before that point too, right?
Sound a little high, but I donโt WC my pc
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
More monitors for more guides
Last time I posted on r/battlestations the gigachad mods insta deleted
Pc hidden in the back for obvious reasons
haha yeah very unique
v small footprint
yep exactly, although i have a much larger system in my new room upstairs but the desk up there is also much much bigger
looks much better without cables
thank you sir, although 3090 was in there for the meme but that goes in my big system lol
3060ti for this smol pc
but it is a 5950x under that 80mm fan
still nice. my "good" pc only has a 3060 ti
yeah i mean depends on the games but 3060ti+ is good enough for pretty much all titles on steam currently at a very enjoyable/playable experience
hardware is just good enough now
just comes down to resolution you are gaming at at that point
true
i dont even look at fps counters anymore on my main system
that is one way to live longer
if you're a stickler for rules, the setup is supposed to show the computer somewhere in it. That rule is rarely enforced, I find.
if you posted that picture to /r/battlestations and they deleted it, I'm really surprised though
haha yeah it was taken down because my posted from 2 years prior with a whole new pc , new layout, from rgb to no rgb/totally new decorations, was still too similar to my previous post
the photo i tried posting was this one sec (pc is shown)
wut
oo I feel like I remember seeing that one before
i'm floored they deleted it because it was "too similar to your previous post"
haha its made its way around the internet (or an earlier version)
dude there's people who post almost weekly with the same setup lmao
ill send the previous giga rgb room
yeah i see it all the time
like the dude with the mac pro setup on the right and the gaming PC setup on the left
he seems to post a new pic about once a week
lol
you're like the poster child of /r/battlestations
"OFFICE CHAIRS RULE! RGB SUCKS!"
"CHECK OUT MY $1000 HEADPHONE SETUP"
tsk tsk, that at2020 mic though
come on bro where's the sm7b?!
XD
honestly I love both your before/after setups there
I like the vines hanging down from the window
its alright
She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid
I approve, no nonsense
bonus points for the can of Vimto
I like the art on the wall
that was a patchouli knowledge nendoroid pre-order bonus
i have a final fantasy x-2 promotional poster that i framed that i need to hang too
neat!
basically this
oh wow
you know, with a little tweaking that room would be peak /r/cozyspaces
it needs an area rug
and less... clothing on the floor
man why do those chairs always look more comfy than they really are? :\
I haven't seen one of those since 5th grade
Love that set
is that a scart thingy?
sticking out the side there?
I feel like I played with one of these back then but it was being used as a monitor
but that was forever and a half ago
yes
and this is a monitor for a sony msx computer
made 1985
just happens to be ideal for sd consoles
haha now im rocking an aston spirit but ive used that at2020 for like 5 years
best 100$ ever spent,
i dont like sm7b because i hate when the mics in front of my face
that! that explains it. Kinda... but I don't think MSX computers were sold in the US, so it still doesn't really explain it :\
i put that shit a foot away above me out of sight out of mind and it still works
sm7b gotta be in your mouth even with cloud lifter its ehh
i don't believe the US ver has a scart socket anyway
nah haha def went through the rgb > no rgb phase and peripheral overhauls after joining some money wasting communities
you aint wrong
but i do still like rgb setups just not in my own/well during the day at least rgb at night is a vibe
US model, proprietary video port. can be adapted for RGB though
i had to desolder the rgb leds from my b450 tomahawk ๐
oooof, just because you didnt want the rgb when system was off or something?
when it was on ye
oof, no way to turn it off even in bios?
nah, didn't wanna use software either
my board has a way to turn them off in both states built right into bios
yeah feel that
Hate rgb softwares so trash
although the new signal rgb 1 software controls all is very nice from what ive heard
-gives a cookie-
I fell into that trap
so the analogue pocket got a neo geo aes/mvs core today
my build has an absurd amount of RGB inside
however, it has tinted glass
and most of mine isn't running at full brightness, and to top that off, It sits in a brightly lit room
lol ive always had good performance since profession leads to high core count usage /lots of storage which leads to nicer motherboards and then gaming led to good gpu which just added up to always having the top of the line hardware
from i7-7700k >3900x > 3950x > 5950x > 3970x
now my mom uses the 3950x to pay bills or something lol
i keep wanting a 5950x but I keep spending my money on other things
i'm waiting for next gen ๐
thats really solid lol, my 3970x holds back gaming perfromance of my main rig a loooot but new gen soon
but gpu's went 750ti > dual 980ti's < downgraded to a single 2070 > 2070super > 3090 & 3060ti
ew imagine wasting money on a 20 series
yeah i didnt have to pay for them though
work bought em we got an extra so i sold my 980ti's
i imagine those were faster in some cases
bought my first car with some of that money
dual 980ti's was just about faster than a 2080super lol
when the stars aligned and sli was supported

why i took the downgrade
but i sold that system as a whole and it paid for my first car
loved that shitbox
5700g system
danbo!
and doesnt look like void of nothingness witht he big psu

airflown't
nah temps are actually fine doesnt look like a lot of space which its not but it does get funneled straight through to a basically completely open back of the case
my friend had an earlier version of that case i think (silverstone?)
2500k and a 560 ti, intake fan was like an 800 rpm gentle typoon. stock intel cooler. thing was always on fire basically
yeah rpm of fan is always high but ye know.. if it works..
but this system will just run excel for 10 years
we got a huge deal on bulk 5700g's
gotta go fast
do you really need it?
I mean my laptop is dead dead
And. Still in school
Last laptop costed me 3.2k in 2018
Lasted me this long and wew I'm suprised it did
so to any poor fuckers that bought a HD 2900
my new toy came!
go on
bet it's that stupid mac
*cool mac
king
Nah see, it's a garbage disposal where you shred all your money into it /s
Make one like the dodecahedron box for the Core i9 a number of years ago
Or whatever shape that was
Oh yeah with the holed aluminum
I should have used that picture to begin with
Also interestingly it was made in 2018
So I guess they still made them until the bitter end
Yeah they gave me a cheese grater to work on some mobile stuff before switching teams, too bad I packed it up so canโt give a pic
aw lol
the cheese graters are hella sexy
everything but the price, anyway
when I was entertaining building that tower I was tempted to hold out for a new mac pro
then I saw the price
this company is doomed
And the weight. And the weight of the box it came in
I swear it made 1/3 of the shipping weight.
To be fair, right after it started shipping there were a couple videos of Mac Pro boxes getting thrown around lol
How the fuck are you throwing those things, theyโre fucking heavy
Tell that to the ups man who threw a box with 8 temper glass panels into the tree in front of my house
geez
What
What encryption are you using? Signal E2E?
The two questions I have are:
- Why not ECDH
- How does Aliceโs client figure out where Bobโs client is?
The 2. question is more of even with the encrypted message, how does one client know how to send it to another client without some middleman?
Sorry I have a thing for being nitpicky about things I barely understand but have enough understanding to be nitpicky about
Oh so the DB is a middleman server got it. That makes more sense
woah
icehunter my name is from MKR XD
i also have some drawings from way back
XD
Because youโd have to track all the generated users to figure out if the guy you got the message from is still the same guy
Not to mention youโd have to share some identifier over a less secure channel every time
Just use ICQ, the Russians don't care what you're talking about and they won't give anything up to the US govt
I'm joking but I'm also probably right
How do you lose money during a period where shit couldn't stay on the shelves?
its a good question
another good question is why is the gov giving them a free handout to produce chips at home, and instead they cancel the project and gift it to themselves??
the system is seriously broken tax payers should be outraged
wait wtf
they actually did that
ghu
tljkahdfdgfahljkdadgfajkhwrewe4rkjhfdseajhaeflkjhreg hbeffewaafeshwfe
a rational response
oh dude I JUST LOVE IT
let's continue to literally give our technology prowess away to other countries
reminds me of boeing before covid hit, they cleaned out the coffers of about 50 billion. they had no savings and so gov gave them money to live and they just bonused themselves the money again
just so we can give some rich morons a few more bucks
I think that bill to give intel and other companies money, did say something like they can't use the money to buy stock back
.... however
anyone could have predicted they'd find some other way to give themselves the money lmao
they are stealing from everyone and redistrubuting to the corporations who dont even produce anymore. its corporate welfarism
i think the board of intel should be tried for treason
so when you experience inflation know who to blame, its not covid
well
A full list of server rules can be found in #about-this-server
dont let it take more from you than it has, its outside our control. but just be aware of this BS
i mean let's look at it from the perspective of INTEL
and their shareholders
they're shooting themselves in the foot long term for some short term gains
yes
you're too rich to pay no taxes yet not rich enough to pay no taxes
the board is basically saying "we don't give a shit if we are the next sears/kmart"
meanwhile the media convinces you your evil etc. basically the entire role of media has become besetting the masses against one another. that is of course how the few control the many. its important to unplug from propoganda
this is why i put everything under my llc and scorp
technically i'm broke, bankrupt, and own nothing

zombie be careful doing that
one day I'll b e rich enough to fill an entire pool of the highest grade maple syrup
haha
there are pretty clear cut rules for "business use"
Guys
well the only things in my life that technically aren't business related are the video games i buy

but the tax on those purchases aren't that bad

deez nuts
scientific feudalism
TFW when you have 2 computers on one monitor and when one does display sleep the other takes over >>
I love it lol. I was going to say A for effort until he realized it was the wrong house
then I still give an A for struggling to pick it up and take it to the right place
I think he's just stealing it tbh
Yep
he's got 'proof' he delivered it, he doesn't look anywhere else to see it's a wrong address, just picks it back up and leaves
he was just doin a little product photography
gg
Bc neither the CEO nor the shareholders have to care. The CEO can run it into the ground and ride a golden parachute into a new job np. Meanwhile the shareholders push for them to do unsustainable things then bail on them when its used up and let them collapse
Yes, give China modern CPU tech so they don't have to care about pissing off the west anymore heh
T.T
i hear they're finally up to 90nm
they might get the q6600 in 2 or 3 years!!
i actually priced out an old 22nm lithography machine and its 200% more expensive then when it was created over a decade ago.
old tech actually increasing in price not just because of inflation
They have zen 1 licensed or whatever
But I donโt know if they can fab it themselves
Or if they still have to use tsmc
fighter jets running on stutters gets blown up by a sidewinder from 1968
