They have these as well. Not sure what the diff is between them and the other EPOS https://drop.com/buy/epos-sennheiser-gsp-602-gaming-headset

Their builtin mics are condenser mics and give solid sound. My friend had a PC350 headset from sennheiser he used for over 5 years and his mic quality was always really good. Nice isolation as well
hmm
i will save these links and look at them closer
well i have some headphones to look at, and i also got 2 stand mic, thx to vielen dank
Which are blue yeti and Rode-NT USB
open back?
Ironically enough even tho its 149 and the other one is 169, the GS602 looks like better build quality
and for mics
the blue yeti is huge but it's hard to find anything else like it for the price .... if you get it really cheap.....
He wanted to keep the price around 150 and you said those were 200 tho
i can go a bit above 150 for the headphone, but not to much
Blue Yeti is so
It's Skullcandy tier stuff isnt it?
what ya mean
Or maybe Beats is a better comparison
A brand name with huge recognition, but its not that great compared to other brands
ugh I take that back
looks like <$100 these days
bbut I have seen them in the $70s before
it's just giant and not very good looking
but it's like a hyperx quadcast or maybe a wave 3
i think the PC38X is probably the right option here honestly
ep or sen
but those usb mics all kinda sound the same
hmm the pc37x looks like a game one?

definitely check the reviews on those
pc38x is just newer i think
I was thinking as well but maybe see what the build difference is between that and the GS602 bc the 602 fit and finish looks a lot better imho
the PC38X is the all foam like the HD6XX (which is my least favorite thing about them) whereas the 602 has that nice sewn leather look
But I suppose the real question is what drivers it uses
damn, seem im gonna stay with my old head a bit longer, there to many options

I mean, we're splitting hairs here. None of these are bad headsets
one thing to consider
nothing wrong with that, just there so many of them
is what you can use without an amp
but i think pretty much everything we've discussed will work fine without one
Yeah I think they rebranded them around that time
alright, but about the mic thing
wlel
Nerds gonna be pedantic
there's that $40 hyperx mic
omigosh
what is open back
I've used an AT2020 USB mic for like 10 years now
damn, how good is it
Only complaint is it picks up a lot of ambient, but I don't have a shroud for it or anything
is it default or a age thing

Oh the 600 vs 601 and 602 is all the same headset, it just changes the number for the color scheme
The black and white ones are both $99 on amazon wow

500 is open pog
quick question, its not part of the headset thing
i always use g502, should i upgrade to hero or get the 600 mouse
Is there anything broken about your current mouse?
nah, its just super old
i had it since i got my pc build for the first time which i think was 6 years ago
maybe the wheel button when it can go from click to loose, but other than that, its fine
don't replace it then
I've been using my Deathadder Chroma since uhh... 2014 says Amazon
I honestly don't see a reason for the 25k dpi mice these days since it means your sensitivity needs to be set at ridiculously low levels for it to not fly off the screen moving 2mm
Mine is 10k dpi max and Ive always had it set at like 1800 anyways
they might have ultra small desk or they want to rp as a helicopter
Ironically enough my first two Deathadders died in like 18mos bc the LMB would snap off

my mouse supports 20k dpi, i use 1600 dpi
Then with the Chroma they fixed the design flaw and its been perfect since except the rubber thumb rest on the left the glue isnt great, but you can fix that by just applying some new epoxy
but 8000Hz
How does that even work? I didn't think USB did polling above 1000hz...
so if they going to have a sale, should i stay with 502g or 600g
hmm let me check that one
80$ to 70 at my place, not bad
One reason I've stayed with the mouse as well is bc I hear lately the mice companies are cheaping out on the cables and making them rubber instead of woven

Although I suppose one solution to that is finding a mouse that you plug in your own USB-C. But I'm really picky about weight and shape of the mouse so I stick to the Deathadder
Maybe? Probably not since its not THAT thick. It just needs to keep the wires protected
Razer has a competitor to that called the Naga btw
Logitech fam
Logi always has garbage ergo imho so
I like my glorious model o a lot but G pro is nice

i always use logitech mouse, never switch out, then again it is my first one so it hold something for me aleast
ergo?
mx518
ergonomics
ah, i had to goggle it
ergo proxonomics

the kill button 😎
Holy shit why would ANYONE buy AMD at this point
Literally double the performance over last year and it’s on a tock architecture
Nvidia best place to work AND best GPUs
for the low low price of 2.2x powerdraw
Go ahead hank, upgrade your pc :p
Get back to work
I’m off fucker :p
I refuse to be a slave to capitalism :p
That’s right slave
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-epyc-9664-could-be-the-flagship-96-core-genoa-cpu-with-400w-tdp yet intel is doing https://videocardz.com/newz/specs-of-intel-xeon-sapphire-rapids-ws-workstation-xcc-cpus-leak-out-xeon-w9-up-to-56-cores-and-350w-tdp basically half the cores for 50w less
@deep sapphire how do you explain this
Nitro dies in a few days
i couldn't care less about being accepted by people behind a screen
https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/anker-ganprime-chargers-announcement/
might be time to buy a new charger
so about headphones
i admit i do really like open back headphones
if you get a nice comfy pair they feel like you aren't wearing anything because you can still hear pretty much everything around you
except you have music like as if you were playing it on your desk speakers
and for some headphones, as if you had a banging stereo in the room
Call me a phychopath but I like having my bookshelf speakers + h6xx on at the same time LMFAO
It feels funny
Lmao
I swear, if we combine our powers, we'll cripple the tech world
I am never going to understand that gpu mounting location
I suppose it does let you have your cake and eat it too, in terms of having a vertical GPU without covering up half the motherboard access

finally, a worthy upgrade to my titan
will definitely need its own cooling loop though
it's very likely the flagship, full die will be a titan part
since it will command a huge price premium and nvidia doesn't like giving large amounts of vram to the peasant geforce series
im looking up AIOs atm
it seems its similar performance with like, a decent fan cooler, right?
yeah, the advantage of AIOs is usually noise and not much else
you get comparable performance to a good HSF but you don't need a 6kg lump of copper on your CPU
it always made me nervous to see that hanging off mobos
like "jesus christ, what if a mild breeze pushed it and it snapped"
I had one of those on my PC before this one, I needed to use metal wire ties to brace it because it was pulling the socket off the board
now I water cool and life is good 😌
i'd love to water cool, but jesus christ, it's expensive
yeah, but you reuse most of the stuff for a long time
my pumps are from 2013 and still running
you get breddy gud value from watercooling components but it's capex
you have to buy it knowing you're keeping it in service for a long time
Also for compact for factor, my main reason lol
Towers are fucking annoying as shit in sff
a high dissipation copper tower is bigger than your sff box
Depends on if you do a full loop or not, and really just go for an easy soft tubing.
Save on tools and time : P
Hard tubing is all aesthetic
it's quite expensive to ship that shit over to me
im genuinely debating taking a huge luggage bag
going to the capital city
haggling for my parts
bringing it all back via flight
is it cheaper for full loop? Probably not right
I mean the real cost is tubing and the blocks itself
Fittings are kinda expensive, but as long as you aren't doing anything crazy it's fine
Softubing you don't have to worry about messing up
Or any fancy fittings to get runs where you want
And you save on tube tools
So uh yes but also it's minimal
: P I use standard cheap ek stainless
Don't mix different metals period.
copper and aluminum, copper and stainless isn't ideal but it will shit up your loop far slower than copper and aluminum
read: don't buy car radiators and put them into your PC loop because they'll shit up your entire circuit with aluminum hydroxide
copper and nickel plated brass is the ideal because brass is majority copper, so you have fairly low galvanic corrosion
my loop is copper/nickel/brass and the water is as clear as the day I put it in the reservoir
whatchu plannin
thats p soon
another SFF?
my local store is sellin one of these cyberpunk-y PC cases
that looks like a scifi battery
Always sff
To the day I die
Sff is the only one I'll use lol
I think full tower is a waste of space
And like
Mid tower is ugly
Lmfao
I don't like all the dead space in it
But I'm uh, more function> form
I'll take my plain compact box
Also the mid towers I've been building for people have all been the Corsair 5000D
I like full towers, but you're right that they take up a lot of space
I might buy a literal cabinet and put my next tower in there
I shit you not, I had a client who handmade a fucking table for his full tower
Like wth lmfao
No
just a table to match the pc
lol
did he use the epoxy thing i've seen people go crazy over?
have ya seen those?
I considered making a PC box out of wood so it looked like furniture
but kinda overdone to me
Because we are practical lol
i would think the wood would get fucked up due to constant heat cycling
I've done two builds inside custom wood cabinets under a tv stand
It's not too bad tbh
you can use real hardwood and get a thicker cut so it doesn't warp
you're not using like, 3mm wood veneers
Lol
think 12 or 18mm thick
MDF

I was going to say, tf you building in? Ikea cardboard box?
In this video I show you how I built a unique sculptural PC!
Big thanks to the following manufacturers and distributors for helping to support this project:
Western Digital with their 2TB m.2 drive
https://www.wdc.com/products/internal-ssd/wd-blue-3d-nand-sata-ssd.html#WDS200T2B0B
Burson Audio with their Play
https://www.bursonaudio.com/produ...
ironically mdf is actually dimensionally stable
ngl
cool looking, but... makes me think of a nespresso machine
In this video I'll be showing you how to build a beautiful desktop PC out of an old damaged laptop for peanuts (aka, not much money). This is a great way to re-use old hardware for cheap, and it's a fantastic creative outlet. I used veneer to make it look like an art piece, but I reckon that leather would look nice if done right, as would vinyl ...
you don't see as much cupping with mdf because it's an engineered product
It's almost as if it's super commonly used as construction material : P
natural wood will do whatever it wants if you don't dry it first
not for heavy load bearing
I think Ikea cardboard has really slandered MDF lol
melamine is shit, that's why
proper MDF is very different from melamine
(actually bamboo would b p cool)
sarah, have you seen the unicorn pc gundam case?
made out of the unicorn gundam head bust?
This project I am doing with my friend. I try to find things to do while we can't go out of the house. I got a lot of trouble from COVID-19. My home is at the point of the worst outbreak in the country.
Hardware
CPU : AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900X
MB : MSI MPG B550I GAMING EDGE WIFI
RAM : THERMALTAKE TOUGHRAM RGB 64GB (32GBX2) 3600MHZ
VGA : GIGABYTE...
But why
¯_(ツ)_/¯
As my teadesmen friend says, with enough screw anchors.... anything is possible
you need to use glue with chipboard because any self-tapping screws will tear right out under transverse load
fucking annoying
MDF also has this problem but the sawdust and glue gives you a little more headroom before the screw goes "haha fuck you" and shreds the board
how dumb is something like.. a marble pc case?
considering it weighs like 150kg for a full tower, you tell me

Hope your desk is made of steel
My friends pc has jade inlays
I too enjoy tearout just from giving MDF a stern glance
nothing says fun like taking a router to MDF and the veneer just blooms into oblivion
Pain
Woodworkers Source
Achieve a unique look in your projects with the combo of bustling grain texture and natural near-black color. A simple clear oil finish will turn the wood black. What's Roasted Lumber?
The lumber is heat-treated in a chemical-free process that uses heat and pressure that makes it weather-resistant and oxidizes the natural color to dark brown.
6 pc of red oak for $109 is pain
member when red oak was cheap 😔
He routed out the rectangle in the side panel, just slightly bigger then the inlay. Then he put it on a flat surface and centered the inlay. He then poured white resin arount the inlay. So it looks like it has a 1mm outline around it and holds it in place
nah, seems pretty easy
It's pretty easy lol
routing out a hole isn't that hard
you're speakin to someone who doesn't have any of the hardware
Yeah especially if me and him both have access to a fucking tormach LMFAO
or the space
I assume he didn't try to use his router on a steel panel though lmao
oh, you used an industrial machine
cheater
Bro
get outta here with your whole ass machine shop
aren't you the weirdo who had a custom concrete foundation poured to drop some heavy machinery in your garage
Shh

And rn the slab is being used for a lathe lol
Fuck I only have a single Dan a4 left
Aaargghhh should I order some even tho 4 series is closseee
Jfoekcnxks
oh fuck yea
das some GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD shit
so what's ur problem
get a refund my dude
doesnt that suggest a hard drive?
oh
lol
i dunoe my dude
ur like
ship of thesus
I want to make my own computer desk for my room, but I'm afraid to look at the sticker price of lumber still lol
Ice your system is just cursed. Are you sure you didn't get a power surge or something?
You've had more problems than like, all of my PC systems combined over the years.
oculus gave me a 50$ store credit including the free replacement cable.
i think i just sold my 4 days of oculus log files
The Hypixel Studios team has said in the Summer 2022 Development Update that Hytale won't be ready 2023. That means Hytale with come out 2024 or later.
We’re aware that some eagle-eyed community members have already spotted that we’ve stopped listing Java and C# in our job descriptions. This is because we’ve made the decision to redevelop Hytale’s engine—both the client and the server—in C++.
Yep. Confirmed. They're out of their fucking minds.
7 years into development they're deciding to redevelop the entire game in a new engine...
never heard of the project before
looking it up on wikipedia
The developers are aiming to release the game on PC, consoles and mobile devices.
this is going to take an another 10 years aint it
ye, i thought it was fucking weird
I remember everyone getting hyped for it
the company behind the development of the Hypixel server in Minecraft.[10][11] Development of Hytale started in early 2015.[12] The idea for Hytale arose due to EULA changes by Mojang in 2014 which blocked servers from having microtransactions that affected gameplay, leading to an 85% drop in the Hypixel server's revenue

kindaa sounds like
they made hytale to be a cash-grab
I don't think it was quite like that. I think it was more they were doing a lot of custom assets and development on their server
They were basically designing a new voxel game inside of minecraft, which takes time and money
But now they've fallen into the trap of being given access to a huge amount of resources and wanting to completely re-invent the wheel. Perfect is the enemy of Good.
imagine wanting to make a game, but it be like
Unreal Engine: Epic bad
Unity: Unity Lead bad
Frostbite: EA bad
Java: Bad
Godot is the only one left i guess
Dear lord how did the two stooges brick their machines
One of them has the worlds most broke ass laptop and the other has the highest end go for broke system
absolute ying yang of tech support destruction
End game of tech support
In my defense, my laptop has been behavin these past few days
I hope i've not jinxed it
Yeah it’s insane especially if 6x for memory
The memory alone will contribute so much heat
This guy is trying to argue with me that buying a 1650 isn't a waste in 2022...
GPU with power levels considered budget 6 years ago
Buying a 1650 is a waste even when it came out
True, I meant as far as the levels of power it offers
It's better than a 1050ti but worse than a 1060
If all you want to do is play League or something though, then I guess its fine
Intel 13th gen release rumored to be 3rd week of Oct
now lets see how bad motherboard prices are
Yeah... I'm hoping they're down a bit as the silicon shortage abates
i doubt it, intel motherboards are usually expensive especially compared to amd
and with pcie 5.0/ddr5 going to be the competition points this generation i doubt they'll make it cheap for the higher support and such
I mean, they jumped from 125 to like 215 going from 11th gen to 12th gen boards. I'd say there is room for prices to drop...
That was the price hike for the MSI Pro-A or whatever board between gens
i'd say they'd jump even more probably another 50 or so
Can always count on a show-off when you see someone at a con or arcade start bar-grabbing like that
i'm awful at ddr but i also grab like that
After four monsters I feel like an oc 3900x
There's no reason for Intel to price hike
They are way too expensive as is and they won't be able to compete if theirs boards get anymore expensive
i mean if their new stuff is ddr4/5 compatible for the new motherboards they already have more grounds because amd is supposedly only ddr5 although it's always possible they'll do ddr4/5 like intel
4 energy drinks in a row
Yeah I plan to carry over my B-die for now. I'll probably upgrade again with the 15th gen Tock and DDR5 will be more mature then
i have shit ram so idc if i have to upgrade or not really
pretty sure it's hynix?
idk haven't checked in a while
DDR2
where's the 3
Sold it because it still had value
I don't remember how much I had for DDR1 memory. I had 4gb for DDR2 then jumped to 16gb for DDR3
😔
I think I might have had 1GB originally then next system had 2GB maybe
I had 4 of these for ddr3
Splurging on the 2133, fancy.
I wanna say I stuck with 1600 or maybe ran it at 1866
It was always default speeds for my old motherboard
It was my first pc
dad got it for me
That system is with my friends now, but the onboard USB is failing. I plan to sell them my current CPU/mobo when I upgrade and ill probably gift them a PCIe USB riser to keep the DDR3 system running

A NOS motherboard is like $150, but realistically the only issues with it atm are the USB being flaky and crashing. Although that could mean more problems are imminent
i have an h61 board with your name on it
Actually that brings up a good point: If the onboard USB is failing, would a PCIe usb hub bypass that? Or is it still dependent on the root hub on the motherboard?
It's a 3770K and I think the current board is a Z77
isn't onboard usb handled by a separate controller if it's not on the chip PCH?
No idea, that's why I'm asking here heh

It still amazes me how well 10yo CPUs still hold up today
Some of them, at least.
It helps that 3770K was their flagship consumer CPU at the time. Although maybe they had like a 3990XXXtreme or something but I don't really count that.
I'm only asking because I don't know if newer chips still use separate PCH, intel has been slowly folding everything from the board onto the chip
The acronym PCH does sound familiar from BIOS options
they didn't
at least on that platform
Yeah
The newer chips use onboard PCH iirc
Yes they are onboard based on cursory documentation reading
anyone here use a hyperkin retron of some sort? Thinking of getting one for my bro to replace that minigen lol
the retron 3 hd looks like it has a nice board, too
although ironically that poor guy who reviewed it, looks like the oscillator came off 😄
those are quite expensive
and my brother is pretty hard set on using cartridges
for what a mister costs to build, I could buy a brand new genesis lmao
the funny thing is the price of a new genesis on ebay is about the same as the original price, adjusted for inflation
yea
I have a genesis mini because I bought it for him originally
he didn't like it lol
I only bought one of those mini consoles
The snes one, sold it for a small profit when I decided I didn't really care for it over my real sfc
I have a snes mini too xD
I haven't felt compelled to sell them. TBH they're both sitting in the box right now since I was trying to clean things up to prepare for moving
the prices on ebay tend to be really solid for them lol
lol
i'd return the board
why not?
ugh!
so
it's a PCI issue, right?
like, you can't sidestep it by buying a PCI carrier board?
intel issue
like maybe https://www.amazon.com/Syba-Interface-Bandwidth-Bifurcation-Controller/dp/B08L8J3MBT
or https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-M-2-X16-V2-Threadripper/dp/B07NQBQB6Z
The I/O CREST SI-PEX40157 is a great accelerated secondary storage solution for any workstation with true PCIe 3.0 x8 bandwidth (x16 Interface). It has four M.2 NVMe ports to accept two NVMe M.2 SSDs, so each NVMe M.2 SSD has dedicated PCIe 3.0 x4 bus bandwidth. It delivers transfer speeds 20 tim...
yea I admit
I got a good laugh about that
bottom one is blocked by your radiator?
even if you use a riser?
smh, wanted triple rad and now suffering the consequences
yea that sounds like a lot of NOPE
so out of curiosity
are you using RAID?
or just using the m.2s independent of each other?
ok
yea that sucks 😦 WTF
so basically the board only supports using one nvme?
question: does your locale not have laws about 15 day return policies?
or a way to strongarm asus?
idk what to suggest then
but empathy: I would be pisssseeedddddd
and like, calling asus daily to complain
mhm
raise hell
that board is not fit-for-purpose
you should just buy a ton of boards until one works
i mean i think ice already went past his budget 😦
i guess this is one plus to x570 builds. tired and true tech. 😄
but seriously wtf
z690 has been out a while now
Not everyone is doing what ice is doing
I think the problem is they keep playing musical chairs with chipsets so they never mature the firmware enough
ice is using 3 SSDs on a motherboard with 4 m.2 slots?
what's so unusual about that?
I have 2 m.2 ssds in my build because that's all my board has slots for 😄
if I had another m.2 I'd fill it >>
Isn’t his setup more than just the nvmes?
ice has a 12900k and a 3090 on custom watercooling
aside from the watercooling it's a pretty standard (higher but not highest end) build
let me introduce you to the b450
it does but it exists in a 2 month vacuum
ice should have a threadripper build lol
dat TR4
or even x570 because even those have like 27 pcie lanes
the real problem here is the Z series' stupid PCH and intel being cheap with pcie lanes
skill issue not going amd
but it doesn't matter, what ice is doing is well within the specs of that board
it has 4 m.2 slots
What board is it again?
https://rog.asus.com/support/FAQ/98404 is the only thing if you haven’t tried
Official Support | ASUS Global
Although it’s supposed to have nvme in that page smh
Damn asus
I don't think any of them really use more than x4
I mean if each is running off cpu then you have 16 for gpu and 12 for storage no?
Doesn't the motherboard come with a few more as well?
Should
But the website is dogshit
What’s the ***
He has a technology black thumb
spent too much on fans
He needs prebuilt
I mean, I do custom builds for myself too, but I’m not having issues like that
(Granted I don’t have to use nvme drives)
Luck of the draw
Or*

First gen issues
This is why you go tried and true
This is why you research a ton before hand for new stuff/companies
I've never had issues with Gigabyte Z boards, so I've stuck with them
I learned my lesson doing first gen new stuff
Yeah, i use gigabyte now instead of asrock
For that reason
ULTRA DURABLE

Tenor is busticated, no my memes
Rip
gigashite dab
Hey, it does the job at half the price
this post was made by b450 tomahawk gang
Lol, i mean that’s an amazing board but the one i have is also really good
Not a single issue

I've used like 4 gigabyte boards in a row and never had a single issue so 🤷♀️
i used msi before and it was unstable, same with asrock
Gigabyte is outdoing them
No led diagnostic light sadly on my board but it’s livable
excuse you

lolwhat there's a 5700X now
Yeah
Its like on one hand, October for new CPU yay! OTOH ... that means summer is over by then, boo!
save money so you always have enough to build a fancy pc and then never do
take that big tech

o_O soooooo I'm lucky i don't have that problem with my board lol
though I've been saying for a while, asus software/firmware isn't that good
idk
i would've gone for evga myself
but idk if they're good with support on that sorta issue
Evga motherboard
heh actually, maybe not
I was thinking, US-based engineering/support
but it looks like only their support is based in the US.
so it remains a mystery how they managed to shit up an easy acquisition win
it's funny because abit was a good manufacturer before evga bought them
Yeah 😔
their gpu software is decent, though
man does that mean nobody makes a motherboard with reasonable quality firmware/software?
It’s all hit or miss especially with lower end boards
it's not surprising though
intel does a new chipset every other year, and to support either intel/amd you have to support a half dozen chipsets.
unless they get lucky and get an OEM deal with dell/hp/whatever, they're not making much profit probably after selling a few thousand boards per sku
why would you use anything but afterburner
Afterburner 🤢 x3 is nicer or whatever it is
ab is ugly but it works and gives you more options to OC
the stats tracking is also mad powerful without giving your computer a severe case of herpes
true
there's the specific vcore unlock function for the XXXTREME OC boards
which AB supports but evga doesn't
idk
I have seen MSI come and go as a fan favorite
most of the time when people talk about it on reddit they complain about msi's customer service
afterburner works on any card though, you don't need to use an MSI card
they just bought rivatuner and changed the name
hell, it still refers to itself as rivatuner during the installation process
well, yeah, but RTSS isn't the only thing rivatuner did
afterburner is just RT but with an ugly neon green UI

all the skins are ugly though lmao
pure gamer aesthetic
Ikr 😔
no
ill be sure to buy the first wireless PCIe transmitter to spite you
try making the slot pcie gen 4
since it'll make no difference
i mean, have you tested it?
lol
i mean going to 3 would be more of a bottleneck than 4 especially for a 3090
not like you need gen 5
welp guess you're trying 3
2 would literally make it pointless
you'd bottleneck your gpu so hard
you don't have to move it???
you can change the slot type in the bios...
ah
Hello, im sorry to ask. How can i close ticket?
in the #952326072542847016 ?
Yes
right click it or let it close on it's own over time i believe
But staff asked me to close the ticket but i am not sure close it on mobile 😅😅
oh wait is it a modmail ticket?
it's archived, nothing to worry about as you can't close it yourself
Oh thanks, i am just worried for seconds 😅
no worries, all good
nice
ruh roh my middle mouse click is failing on my mouse finally. Wonder if I could open it and try to revive it
yay!
if its an initialism in the bios and you dont know what it stands for, just set it to "disabled" !
"C" states obviously stands for commie, and as part of america's hat you cannot let that be enabled!
That F350 towing the horse trailer is almost guaranteed to be a diesel motor. I don’t even think they make a gasoline F350 anymore. Going rate for diesel is around $5 per gallon here in Texas. So the math is even worse. But also, to be fair, the F150 lightning only got 40 miles of range hauling a trailer in a recent test, sooooo......
welp, EVs are obviously a flop because the mileage sucks if you tow with them.
if it's an EV truck hell yeah they a flop
whole point of having a truck is towing or hauling
It's a good thing 99% of people don't haul trailers with their trucks then
Or if they do, it's something dinky like a jetski
99% of people who buy a truck that was designed to haul trailers, never actually haul a trailer with their truck
not sure i'd go that far
99% of people that buy 150/0 class yeah
less for 250/0, even less above that
Okay, but those people aren't the ones in the market for an EV truck
I would still argue that a not insignificant portion of the people buying a 250 still never haul a trailer, they just have small dick syndrome
depends on what it is my neighbor has a 250 and huge 5th wheels, most would opt for a 350 instead for a better ride
yea that.. actually makes a lot of sense
but still goes with what I was thinking 😄
the people I've known who had an f-250 were the kind to actually use them for the things they were meant for
(you really don't want that kinda person as a next-door neighbor in a regular residential neighborhood - if they operate their business out of their garage)
if they do, RIP sleeping in on weekends
because you're gonna wake up at 6am on a a saturday whether you like it or not
ppl underestimate what a typical vehicle can do and think they need a fat 8L v8 to tow a few feet of toy hauler when they don't, but if you do it more than once a month just bite the bullet
the ride is so shit if I tow over like 3000 it's unbelievable
plus wear on parts/brakes
yea
I'd never be in the market for a fucking 250+ class though I'm not paying $85000 for a base trim truck
and I say all this and it sounds like I hate people that do that stuff but I don't, not at all
idc if someone drives a prius or an f350
if they're a nice person
that's the catch. if you drive your car like a sociopath imma hate it even more if it's a giant pickup
truck drivers get shit tbf it's 50% truck 50% suv
out here over the last 10 years or so I'd say a lot of the bmw driver douches became truck douches
I'm also fond of ppl taking out trailers with 9" wheels rated for 50mph that were sitting in one spot for 9 months and doing 80mph with them
you can tell by the way they drive
Then busting their shit all over the highway and leaving them abandoned on the side of the road
lmao
the wildcard are people with 15+ year old cars that have flaked paint
to this day, the most egregious driving I've ever seen on I-5 was.. a u-haul truck u-hauling ass at speeds I didn't think were possible in a u-haul
it was one of the small 10ft ones
but that sucker was moving
We had a midsized one with the front-axle car trailer that we accidentally got up to like 80mph a few times driving cross-country
I-70 thru the Rockies will do that lol
yea I don't know how they did it, but that thing was doing at least 100
maybe 90. it was more than 80
vtec kicked in
and I didn't even think they could
they became ungovernable
Maybe it was mostly empty
maybe
And people wonder why manufacturers are considering electronic limiters.
i've also seen the people who like weave through traffic doing 100 when everyone else is doing 80 and then we all get a laugh when they're pulled over a few miles later
oh yea
they probably have those goodyear delivery truck tires that are known to go ka-boom if you do >50mph
Yeah that's when you just keep your lane and speed and let them do their shit
The ones goodyear got sued over?
Only exploding tires I knew about were the old Ford Explorer/Escape tires that bankrupted Bridgestone was it?
Which was actually fucking Ford's fault bc they were warned they were insufficient for those vehicles and Ford said shutup take my money
dang this is amusingly good
This video shows a way to watch YouTube videos on a 40-year old Commodore Pet, at about 30 fps.
Link to the details on how to approximate a bitmap to a character set: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtaeUVhL34I
Here's a link to the circuit simulator: https://kretsim.se
kinda crazy they can draw a video with text that way lol
the rocket one is kinda hard to make out though
geeez
More than 25,000 model-year 2021 Ford Broncos with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 could suffer total engine lockup while driving, NHTSA says.
dats totally normal
does anyone know how to fix this
@jaunty light
isnt that just the error whenever you close the game
trucks are a bigger flex because they cost as much as a BMW for the XXXTREME OFFROADAN package and get worse fuel economy
what better way to show off what a rich prick you are than to buy a new F150
Yes and no, a truck still has way more practicality than a luxury car
Sure most people don’t need a truck but if you do it’s nice you can spec one to have luxury options
the raptor is like $150k
I can probably count the number of people who will actually take the thing off road on one hand
also, "luxury" in trucks is like, "has seats" lmao
comparing the top-line options in an F150 to like, an aston martin is wildly different
Have you seen a top trim truck? It sure looks a lot better than that
Easily comparable in luxury to a comparable priced luxury car
Obviously it’s not going to be an Aston Martin but that’s 6x the cost
I fucking hate windows smh
I turned on my pc, entered my password to login on right as i hit enter, blue screen
Windows is dog ass
Just gave me a whoopsy blue screen and is now updating
Smh
Linux gaming soon
that black UI interface reminds me so much of second life ui
what I thought the camera has face recognition? ._.
so you don't have to type the password anymore
at least that's what my surface default setting is
@deep sapphire
That's what I would do a lot in my Saturn and Mazda since they were both manual. Remember coming back from tahoe and everyone else was laying on their brakes constantly and I was just throwing it in neutral or engine braking gently instead. They must have thought my brake lights were out or something
you need a specific kind of camera to use windows hello
poggin
at least EVs let you use regenerative braking to simulate engine braking
Nuggies
amd made something like rtx voice but it also has a feature to reduce background noise from other peoples microphone
already lost points 😔 it is terrible to use with something like a go xlr mini 😭 you have to set your output to a specific thing 😭
owned
The problem is luxury is a moving target
Well, take a Silverado high country. Has super cruise, premium materials, tons of technology and features and it can be had for 68K
I agree that luxury is subjective but it’s not just “nice seats” lol
Fuckin was driving home last night a bee or something smacked into my hand and flew into my seat and I found that fucker clinging onto my ass barely alive
You took it correctly
I cleaned the spider web off
Sometimes they get crazy on the spare tire
I still think it’s amusing you can get Jeeps with stitched leather dashboards
<@&607647345936695316>
It’s funny because in most modern auto cars, doing that is really easy
I dunno about that... you don't have any control over how it approaches engine braking and it definitely won't go into neutral on its own. Also if you want to control the shifting you can maybe find a transmission mode that comes close to your needs. Otherwise if you're in adaptive cruise that uses the brakes constantly to regulate speed, so that would be no good trying to save your brakes on a mountain.
It will engine brake, but the rate of deceleration is whatever it feels like instead of picking the exact gear to keep with the flow of traffic without having to press the gas or brake
in my cars manually picking a gear will keep it there unless it can't
works fine for engine breaking
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-confirms-ryzen-9-7950x-7900x-ryzen-7-7700x-and-ryzen-5-7600x-processors
finally not just 7800x at the start(hopefully) since the 700 vs the 800 is basically just overclocked 😭
i wonder what that 7950x will cost
probably 900-1000
it's my favorite line item on the F150 upgrade sheet
going from bench seat to bucket seat
✨ luxury ✨
So how come you guys get tech mentor tags while @tame fulcrum and I dont get Tech Curser tags
Ye
Its like our "I'm special" hat
Hows ur pc comin along btw
Found the problem?
Ooo
LMAO
Its always the fuckin bios
But at least ya figured it out
👍
If you engage paddle shifting, sure. That's not really in automatic mode tho imho
That sort of thing is easily spotted by ppl though and as you said its always proof of concepts. What data could they know the exact location of on anyones system that would be worth that effort
spectre/meltdown have been around for years now tho and nothing like that has been found so it cant be that much of an issue
And anti-cheats are generally easy to workaround even without doing sidechannel attacks
Hello, can I ask how to fix bluetooth devices are not found in
"Add Devices" list and even cannot able to connect the old one?
Here what i tried until now,
- I tried to restart pc for several times.
- I opened the BIOS and restored the pc condition before my bluetooth is working normally.
- I ran cmd code [sfc/scannow].
- I ran cmde code [DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth].
- I tried to reinstall the bluetooth drivers from "Devices manager"
- I tried the troubleshooter and it said "Problem found => Check Bluetooth radio status => fixed"
Altho i tried those above, bluetooth didnt come back ;w;
yes, all updated. i even used "snappy driver software" to make sure all drivers are updated
I think it's totally asinine my jeep doesn't have paddle shifters
like wtf
YOU CAN BUY CVT NISSANS WITH PADDLE SHIFTERS DUDE
yeah, but it also breaks the transaxle real fuckin quick because nissan's CVTs have no torque capacity
I am about to go Office Space on my mom's HP printer
is it an HP inkjet?
YES
THAT IS THE ONLY THING TO DO WITH HP INKJETS
I've owned a total of 3 hp inkjet printers in my life
what, why? are they good?
No.
HP inkjet cartridges have this crazy design that makes no sense
can't say i've heard that one before
where the ink is in a vacuum sealed chamber
so they're very expensive and nearly impossible to refill
ic ic
i also don;t like how they sound, and all 3 were very prone to having paper jams
I basically always use them in sport mode otherwise the shifting is kinda janky. Sport mode auto it will never go into 8th gear. It sits in 7th which just wastes gas. It also likes to rev really high before shifting, which would be fine if I were actually racing but is overkill even for highway onramps most of the time. If I let the turbo spool im at like 90 by the end of the onramp which is... excessive lol
why would it go into the final gear when it's a cruise gear that has no torque multiplication
underdriven to hell for fuel efficiency
Obviously I don't sit in 8th gear if I need to pass ppl...
no, my point is that the sports mode won't select it since it doesn't have any accelerating power
Generally if I'm going a longer distance I'm using adaptive cruise in ecomode bc why not. But if I'm in town I'll usually stay in sport mode bc sometimes you need to cut over before some dingus not paying attn cuts off your lane change by not matching speeds, etc.
I think what I need to do is read into the manual on how to setup the Custom mode bc currently I think only sport mode has the active suspension. So if I could get Comfort mode + the suspension that would be ideal
Hence reading the manual bc I don't know what Custom is for atm
There is also a Smart mode which is 🤷♀️
I think it probably goes between Eco and Comfort depending on acceleration needs
from what I recall on other cars with adaptive suspension the only mode that uses aggressive valving and damping is "sport"
the others prefer softer valving
sport mode is fun on the highway around here tho bc there are a couple mergers that do like a 90 degree banking to the left followed by 45 to the right, and you can just fly through that at like 75 np in sport mode while everyone is in the other lane poking along at like 55
I could take it even faster I imagine, but I'm not trying to be a BMW driver /s
I haven't had a chance to really flex the subaru because there's too many people who believe the speed limit is 30 in a 55+
the highest I've gotten is 110 on a straight
Ah yeah you're out in NYC so I imagine its tough.
I never tried to push it when I was in Cali but I could have bc the I-5 in the interior has fuck-all for traffic
I really wanted to go to a track day at Laguna Seca bc I lived like 15mins from there, but I never got around to it before I moved.
I wanted to take a track training class first so I knew what to expect and not bust up my car
How would you even know? No way in hell any speedtest gives you that much bandwidth to one connection. Probably would test to like 500/35 still lol
I need to talk to ATT. Ever since I got it installed ive never got more than 35mbps up. Maybe I can try connecting directly to their combo modem and see if its somehow my router
I think there's no way to test it in a serial application, but having multiple devices streaming 4k will definitely do it
rip old igpus
https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-core-i7-13700k-and-core-i5-13600k-tested-higher-performance-with-higher-power-consumption ddr5 might actually be required to make these processors good
ha that reminds me
apple is dropping support for CPUs without AVX2 on osx ventura
surprised intel would be considering a 2 year old processor 'legacy' now
damn. they must be desperate for that corporate money.
well they didn't really do anything for igpus until 11th gen and up
i always thought of AMD as the more sheister-y x86 CPU producer
but I think the problem here is intel and AMD don't value R&D enough
why's that?
cpu design has never had a rep as a lucrative career field
i wonder what we'd get if intel was like google and showered their cpu devs with money and benefits and made everyone wanna go work there
i think we might see more of that once intel opens the US fabs
might atleast help but who knows
That or some Chinese arm rip-off ends up taking the market by storm lol
i doubt that time will come
I feel like such a feat would still be 10 years off at least
OP
So I put a post on tech support waiting to see if anyone knows what to do, but I'll leave it here in case someone has the brains for this xD
A while back my ping jumped to 230 permanently from 45ish. I don't know what happened, I didnt change isp, my equipment was checked by my isp and everything seems fine with it.
I leave here a trace route I did to light European servers.
I need some help...
I updated my steam today and suddenly my DualSense stop working for FF14 (which I launch through Steam) and any other game while steam is on the background. Has anyone seen this?
Tried this, still doesn't work
It's weird because if I close Steam and restart the controller, it works for other games out of steam
Do you have generic gamepad config support on? Try turning that off maybe?
saw an article about this last week, talking about how electrical engineering is dying
there's very few people left who know how to actually make the silicon bobbins, but a shitload of people who can write code for them
Does just raising salaries for EE help, or do they need to maybe specially promote EE at some top schools I wonder
salaries is part of it
the other part is that being a hardware EE is fucking hard and most people won't want to do it
when they can make $loadsamoney eating fries like a toddler on a stream
making transistors is equal parts material science, electrical engineering, and black magician
Yeah, especially at the tech levels we're hitting where you probably aren't even tasked with designing a whole chip anymore. You get to design a tiny fraction of one feature on the chip
Someone had a convo about EE in another server couple days to learn, my take is that a good reason is that it’s a PITA to learn
Like what documentation? What easy help? What software that isn’t such complete crap that it actually swears you off the field?
as an EE you are making the documentation
you're starting from physical principles and designing the hardware
And on top of that if you ain’t in the first world job opportunities are limited
nobody writes the doco until you finish the product lmao
Bruh I’m talking about the documentation for the software used to design the product
Like fuck Xilinx.
oh god yeah
but xilinx is for fpgas
I'm talking about the actual bobbins that make the FPGA
I had to take an FPGA class for college and it was also taken by those studying CE/EE
you get to have an even more tiresome design process where you need to talk to the shitty ass lithography machine software in order to make the silicon bits to make the stupid FPGA chip
hardware engineering is suffering
get paid $100k a year to do 5x the work of someone working from tahiti for google and making $350k a year
But point is, if the tools for the prototyping stage is an ass, image every other stage
Also as I said, don’t ask me to try find EE/circuit design work in Jakarta
And the last point I had in that previous conversation is are we even designing new chips on a widespread basis or is every device manufacturer just grabbing off the shelf components?
the duopoly of amd/intel has kind of shoved transistor design off the table
you're making something for TSMC/samsung or you work for intel
And there you have it, why bother taking EE when you can take something easier that pays a lot better and has more opportunities, or just doesn’t require as much structured thought.
ATM they're just making shit bigger imho.
uh, yeah, obviously lmao
Current desktop CPUs for Intel are now the size of workstation/xeon chips were a few years ago
that's literally what the issue with hardware EE is
Moore’s law?
it's hard as fuck and nobody wants to do it anymore
EE I guess is a bit like being an engineer for space launch: If you wanna do it, you just have to move to where the work is
yeah, pretty much all semiconductors work that way
lasers are the same thing
there's no WFH for laser engineering, you have to physically touch the laser
And the fact there’s a physical limit to how little of a voltage difference between an on and off signal on a transistor before you start introducing errors?
electromigration is your biggest enemy, yeah
this is true, my 12700k is a big lad and Noctua made me put 5 blobs of paste on it
No Ed, that’s how workplace accidents and worker’s comp claims happen
if you laser yourself in the face that's on you
we give plenty of safety equipment and training
And then there’s going to be that one guy doing a Tiktok challenge
I've had some try adjusting a mirror on a 30W CO2 laser cutter while the beam was active:|
Isn’t there SPECIFICALLY A SETTING FOR THAT?
Like an “adjustment/focus mode” or w/e?
30W CW laser lmao
my current test bench is cranking 100W of CW single mode output
and it's not even maximized yet
this is a shitty rough draft
LISTEN IM NOT A FREAK
Is it really not possible to operate the machine remotely or is it just a no one has tried thing?
This motherfucker stopped the gantry servos and started to fiddle with the alignment for no reason
how do you put the mirrors in and align them
you're thinking about things as a user, not the manufacturer
the hardware you use has to be assembled by someone and that person can't work from home
while you get to eat doritos and order ubereats with your cushy programming job
By the way I havent touched the doritos for awhile
The honest answer is, it's because EE is interesting and branches out into a million different things. I could work in IOT (blegh), embeded implementations, rf design, RND etc.
I mean I know that the hardware has to be assembled by someone or something, the problem being I don’t know whether the assembly can be performed by remotely operating a machine.
the target spec is 55+W of directed UV radiation
Christ

Also fresh food is better than uber eats
the single mode part I already landed and I'm close on power, but the roundness is junk and I haven't figured out why yet
Try getting the costs down to get someone to remotely operate something as intricate as that task, then it can be done remotely.
Optics are so out of my field lmfao
I got a C in optics lmao
I'm focused on embeded systems rn
I'm doing 100% of this by feel
I’m mainly basing my opinions on one FPGA class, I pretty much have no idea what actually needs to be done to actually manufacture a board
"I got a c in "subject"" and "I'm doing this by feel" is the ultimate engineering mood lol
