the larger the fan, fan motor and to lesser extent fan blade design can impact noise

if you are using the stock cooler (what came with the processor) they are usually louder

Also if you really hate the noise setup your own fan curve so it doesn’t get to 80c as quickly

turn off zero rpm mode

generally speaking open are preferred for music/sound quality, closed have the property of isolating from the environment better but can also give you a closed in feeling. usually means better 🅱️ass thumps though - good for monitoring. which is why i don't get why someone would go 820, buuut they may sound much different to what you'd typically expect. hard to say

I see your comment above about hyperx.. I have a cloud pro headset laying around and can tell you that it felt worth around the $65 it was? The sound quality couldn't hold a candle to the $200 dt880s I normally use... but it was fine for something that cost $65 at best buy
