#Optimizing UI/QoL

This game is fun and I love it but I will like to suggest some improvements/QoL things

  1. Too many clicks, every action requires too many clicking. If you fish, you have to click on the chair, click when the bait catch, click some more to fish. If you want to get rid of alien plants, you have to click it to drain, hold down click to actually drain, click to chop it down, hold click twice to saw it, click to pick it up. And so on and so fort. There's just too many clicking involved and it's not great for my fingers' health.

  2. Please merge the Construction menu with the Crafting menu, or move the Construction-related blueprint into the Construction menu. It's confusing to go between them.

  3. Allow us to re-organize the stage once we repaired big items, so we can use the space more efficiently.

  4. Allow stacking up to 999 items and stacking of single use item (like the Spray) so they don't take up too many item slots. I don't want my space to be filled with storage boxes ha ha...

  5. On-hand carry more than 1 item, maybe a small stack of 2-3 items, our avatar has robotic arm... we should be able to carry more weight, running back and forth to carry planks and metal sheets get tedious very quickly.

As for the minigames: Those can be done through wasd keys too (except for fishing as it seems). I switch between both methods every now and then to help my hand a bit. 😅

yeah, they can but it's still too much clicking, you either click the mouse or the keyboard, it's still clicking. they can definitely be simplified

As for planks etc: You can already carry up to 3 (upgraded robotic arm + 75+ or so on the food bar). Although I personally just carry around the storage with the nano transporter.

using the minions to build things for you, and collect the wood, metal sheets, is also very useful so you arent running around everywhere

for example, sawing, to me, that's not a minigame, it's resource gathering. i'm gathering them to build nice stuff, i don't want to click so many many times to do it.

but i agree with Kuro, to remove all the actions would remove the grind out of a grindy game. I find it very typical of its genre and that is part of what i look for in games like this; the grind

The question will be if the minions at some point during development will be able to help out with dismantling. If so the minigame would be fully fine if you're in a hurry as you don't have to do it if it's not urgent and can wait for the minion to finish the task. 🤷‍♀️

there's grind and there's excessive grind, all those clicks are not great on people like me who has minor carpal tunnel syndrome to enjoy the game

Don't get me wrong: I don't really see me doing the minigame for every item that can be dismantled when we've like 10 roofs or so. That's why I hope for some sort of "If you do the minigame you're faster, but if you don't want to do the minigame the task will still be done". 🤷‍♀️

the thing is, i do like the minigames. i want to be able to enjoy doing them and not low-key murdering my fingers, you know? 😂

vale egret

I understand exactly what you mean. 😅

#

Btw in regards to the 999 stack: I'm not a huge fan of those to be honest as it makes planning storage a bit pointless as you would require way less chests. Although I agree that maybe some things could have their stack size reconsidered.

#

Not sure if that would be possible for the spray as it's a "usable item". But no idea about the technical part. 🤷‍♀️

You don't use an entire spray or bucket like you do with a plate of fish.

chrome echo
#

i hope they could figure out a way to do it 🙏

vale egret
#

What would come to my mind: You can stack full ones, but not ones you already used (even if you only used 1%). 🤷‍♀️

#

But as I said: Not sure if possible from a technical point for this game.

vale egret

it should be if you stack, it will show you a number of X many in the stack, and % bar of the one you're currently using, then it'll automatically move to the next on in stack after it's finished.

vale egret
#

In theory: Yes.

#

In reality: What if you used a different one in between?

chrome echo
#

if they're already stacked, why would you use a different one in between

vale egret
#

Don't get me wrong: Not saying that it's not possible. I just know from other games that "drainable items" are "a thing on their own". 😅

vale egret
#

Or somebody might just have forgotten, where they put their stack and makes a new spray, starts to use it and finds the stack.

chrome echo
#

maybe they can auto sort the used one to the top of the pile?

#

(i have an entire bloody chest of those spray.......)

vale egret
#

An possible solution might be to recalculate the stack and add the "I used a bit of this and that can" to it. 🤷‍♀️

vale egret

i'll let the dev figure that out hahahahaha

tame whale

auto sort would be amazing

And maybe I just ignore them unless they go after my plants.

chrome echo
#

i did that but they took up an extra slot so i throw them into storage...

vale egret
#

You could still put the spare one into a chest. I just wouldn't make an entire chest only for those.

chrome echo

sometimes i forgot i made an extra...so i made another...
