adetailer model is just responsible for detecting the face, so it doesn't really matter for the output as long as the face is being detected. I use face_yolov8s though.

You can also specify a different prompt for adetailer to use for inpainting which can be really useful.

Removing anything not related to the face is usually a good idea. Sometimes I'm too lazy to do it, but it generally gives better results when I do.

well, maintaining the set up should help to maintaining the consistence with the rest of the image

The issue with that is it's using inpaint at full resolution so the inpainting is only happening on a rectangle around the face, if you leave things in the prompt that aren't visible within that box, the AI will try to add them in. For example, earlier I did one and was too lazy to specify an inpainting prompt. I had crescent moon, clouds in the prompt because I wanted them in the image, but autodetailer changed some of her hair into a crescent moon, and tried to change the collar of her dress into clouds.

in this example you might want to leave schoolgirl studying as those will impact her overall appearance and possibly her facial expression, but in her classroom is completely irrelevant to how her face looks, it might not hurt the quality of the inpaint, but it won't help either.

I used this 3D model in Blender to make a render and then used tile upscale. However, I want 2D shading, not 3D. But that happens at higher denoising, which also changes the facial expression and features (like the eyebrows). How can I resolve this problem? For example, 3D input image:

Nope, it literally crops the image down to just the area around the face anyways, then runs img2img while resizing to the same resolution as the full image (this is how it manages to get so much more detail), then resizes that down and blends it back into the correct place. Since it's an img2img operation, as long as your denoising isn't set too high, the overall shapes are already defined which informs it where everything should be.

Mine has been modified using a tool that lets you adjust the contrast and brightness of the vae.

yep. the last number is the multiplier I applied to the contrast. so 09 has a 0.9 multiplier and 08 has a 0.8 multiplier. I think 0.8 looks a little washed out, but 0.9 looks quite nice.

That one was made with the same tool that I used for mine. It's the NAI vae with slightly boosted contrast. I like the colors and the character outputs, but like all of the NAI vae variants it is prone to a really annoying hexagonal texture on backgrounds, especially foliage.
