I'm fine with that. I rarely try to replicate images across sessions, but it's nice to be able to run batches with Hires fix turned off to find good seeds, then lock seed and turn it back on without worrying about RNG ruining the fingers on the second attempt.

It's great when working with low CFG and helps with general togetherness of the gens as well as better contrast. It replaced dynamic thresholding and the like for me.

You still lose some detail and creativity as you would with higher CFG, but the tradeoff is often worth it depending on what you're trying to achieve.

Using img2img and ControlNet with 3d character models, most of the outputs are pretty bad with most models. I can get decent one-shot results with only a few models. It's a bit limiting, but the speed and control is great.

hires fix helps with small details too and if it doesnt work well for you, you can always use lowRAM option (I do that and it works well). It renders a bit longer but helps a lot
