4/26/2024 Weekend Challenge: "Plus 4, Minus 4"

We are breaking tradition this weekend with a new game I'm calling "Plus 4, Minus 4". The image I have posted uses 20 words: 15 in the positive prompt and 5 in the negative prompt.

To contribute to the chain this week, you must take the last posted prompt in the chain, remove 4 words and add 4 words of your own. There will always be 20 words, but the prompt will change over time. Commas and punctuation don't add or subtract from the word count, so use them as you wish.

Note: Unlike previous challenges, we aren't using img2img or using the previous image for this. Just the prompt and your settings. As always for weekend challenges, make sure to stake a claim on your spot by using the ⛓️ emote.

Thanks, I took the original image and used a resize with lacanzo(spelling?) to compress it to an 8x8 and then resized it to 1024 to get a super blurred gradient and then did a couple img2img passes to make it, while keeping the overall color gradients. I know there's a controlnet for 1.5 that's similar, but I wanted to see if I could wing it manually.

cool! I'm always curious about using the start image in a more interesting workflow but I normally don't have much time to experiment with it.
Blurring it is a good way to keep the general color gradient and getting rid of those pesky shapes and lines

You could also chain a ton of blurs on max settings or do it in Photoshop, but I'm lazy and the rescale down and back up took 5seconds to implement.

I have an ImageBlur node in Comfy which I guess would suffice

They usually cap out too soon on blur values and you end up needing to chain a bunch to get the same effect and eventually run into a diminishing returns effect. Might have just been the built in one I was using, I'm sure there are more photoshopesque ones though

I installed a suite of ImageMagick nodes and I think that can do pretty much anything. I just gave it a quick test and the Blur node seems to be limitless

yeah. ImageMagick is a set of command line tools which can do pretty much any kind of image effects/modification. ImageMagick is very powerful and somewhat complicated. I think the nodes are similarly powerful and complicated.

I ended up figuring out why that abomination happened. The preset I was experimenting with was doing some SAG/PAG stuff along side with the regular automaticCFG behavior. I had something similar happen making something else where it was putting some pretty unrelated hallucinations into a generation, so I dug a little into the cause looking at the code. He added a bunch of experimental presets and stuff recently for anyone that likes playing around with attention

Needless to say, that dog-woman failed-diffusion had my attention lol

I've lived in a few big cities where they have these buildings that are built to house power stations or water plants, right in the middle of the city. They are often built to look like the buildings around them so they don't look like what they are. I thought it would be fun to put graffiti on the window panes of one of these buildings. Your task this weekend is to present your big budget movie idea to a movie studio. One small problem though: you are incredibly unprepared. You lost your storyboards and script. Well you are never getting this meeting opportunity again so you better pitch something quick! Thankfully you have image generators to help you convey your ideas to prop up your pitch. Good luck!

Ok so same rules as usual. Claim your next place in the chain using the chains ⛓️ emote. Add some short captions / dialogue to your images you post to convey the story you are pitching to the board. This is a collaborative story so let's see what happens.

Both are free and easy to use, you just sign up and then write your prompt and wait a little

In ideaogram you also have an option to let it enhance the prompt with AI, which gives better results and more detailed prompts than you've entered initially

July 5 - 7, 2024 Weekend Game: Lost in Translation

We are creating a chain of alternating image and text captions. The twist? We need to be putting the previous text captions through Google translate a few times before using the text to generate the next image.

A round of this game will look like this:

1. A person posts an image.
2. A different person describes the image in text form. They don't use any sort of translation service here.
3. The original poster / someone takes that text prompt and runs it through Google translate many many many times and posts the resulting image when run through an image generator.
4. Repeat.
