Alright, I just confirmed with actual PSU technicians, that the PSU I have should be able to handle a 3080 just fine, even without power limit. They said that this PSU is rated for 650 watts reliable, and can take up to 1000 watt peak transients. Its a cooler master MVE V2, and is rated B+ tier in teh global PSU lineup

They also said it should be especially fine since I am not running my CPU at the same time

and they are suggesting as well that it was just an unstable OC, as it crashed when not doing anything
