What can I do about this? And, more importantly, how can I save the current state of my game with the goal of possibly referring back to it much later after making major changes?

yes. and the import button has something similar -- Show Chooser
'OpenFiles' is not disabled under macOS. Please use 'OpenFilesAsync'.

ok, you should probably report the import/export errors under bug reports, but i might have a workaround for you

#

the game saves are stored under appdata/locallow/tobspr games/shapez 2/savegames

So, I guess I can just copy the entire folder for my current game and the put it back later if I want to revert?

that should probably work - never done it myself, tho

you can also access the save folder from below the import button, if that doesnt give an error
