#[0.1.0-pre1-rc3] Selecting Quit to Desktop crashes the game
30 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I mean it doesn’t work but at the same time it does
Yea...
But yea probably a bug
Also seems to not happen all the time
Now that I have WhatIsHang open to maybe get more info on what is happening I can't reproduce it...
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Hi @slow acorn !
Thank you for your report! Would you happen to have any of the game logs when this issue happened?
I'll look later when I'm back home
still present with alpha5-rc2 on Linux
I have no idea where the Player.log file is hidden on Linux
#❓faq
Player.log file should be located in the following folder:
• Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/tobspr Games/shapez 2/Player.log
Thank you for the files. So as described in the post, this occurs when clicking Exit to Desktop, correct?
Just a couple of questions:
- Does this occur when exiting to desktop from the main menu, from the game or from both?
- Is the game installed in the main drive of your PC?
- Have you verified the integrity of game files on Steam?
- from the game, after a save
- no, S2 is installed on my second ssd
- how can I do that?
Right click on Shapez 2 on the Steam launcher and then click "Properties". It should open the game manager. Go to Installed files and click Verify. It should take a couple of minutes but should check if all files are correctly installed and get any missing
If that doesn't work it would be helpful to know if this issue also occurs when installed on the main drive
so far so good
not sure it helps, but some additional info : I'm running Fedora 43, proton experimental, nvidia driver 580.126.18
when I "Save > Quit to desktop," the game seems to close the window, but STEAM still shows status as "Running"
Even when I click "STOP" the status updates to "Stopping" but has been there for a while now.
I ran the file verification and it resulted in "All 180 file successfully validated"
Interestingly, Shapes2 isn't showing up as a running process in Task Manager... So somehow Steam thinks it's running, but it's not?
