Really? I would think that you just add a second crystal color chooser and if it’s the same as the original one then don’t let trough the original signal

You have to add additional pins if you skip a crystal layer. Otherwise stacker may be an issue depending on the shape (one corner may fall)

if you replace all crystals with pins, like most people do for ROS1, that's not an issue
