The #đź’ˇsuggestions forum is an external website that isn't built for community interaction.
This really sucks when you have a new idea you want to discuss with the community.
Not to mention, feedback and suggestions often go in tandem. New features are often suggested as a response to feedback.

So I say, users should be allowed to post their suggestions for new features on this forum if they are also posted on the suggestions board.

Agree. The idea for the external Suggestion site, though is so Tobs could better track them. There is a disconnect though.

100% agree, thanks for posting this.

It’s nice to be able to discuss theoretical features and things that aren’t necessarily critiques, but instead are features that could substantially increase the love for a game like this.

This genre is undersaturated not because it’s niche, but because it’s new. And therefore needs more interaction with theoretical ideas.

Discussing ideas with a healthy community is key to making games of this genre thrive.

After reading the stamp feedback/suggestion, this is obviously a problem. When I first joined the server, I was confused why there were two channels for feedback and suggestions. They’re really the same thing: if I give you feedback that you smell, it’s a suggestion to use deodorant, if I suggest you brush your teeth, I’m giving you feedback on your hygiene. It’s all in the wording. And, positive feedback would be a suggestion to keep doing what you are doing.

#

Something concerning—in response to the stamp feedback—was that if it stayed there, it wouldn’t be looked at by the devs.

If they aren’t looking at the feedback channel, all the more reason to move the suggestions into it and get a discord plugin/app/extension that can grab the votes on them.

Ive definitely seen them in the feedback area, its just a lot more cluttered so they are more likely to miss something

#

The website is far better at collecting suggestions but very poor for discussion of them

Personally, I don't find the website easier to use. It's another site to manage. I actually don't notice a link to the external site when I switch to this server. I just see the Feedback channel and instinctively assume it's where new features/suggestions/etc are posted. The Suggestions channel is always grey because there are no new posts.

#

It's the devs' prerogative of course. This is just feeback.

So if you say "I think there's not enough mechanics" it's feedback, but if you say "I would like xyz to be added to fix the problem of the mechanics being to simple" it's a suggestion

I can see that. I guess, as someone who collects feedback on other topics/projects, I wouldn’t want to get empty feedback: “I have a problem”. I’d want an explanation, and that borders on suggestion.

#

Also, if a suggestion is just a possible solution, but not feedback, it’d be good to have people’s feedback close to where the suggestions are so the people suggesting things have easy access to the problems.

#

Which brings us back to this feedback topic: if we have feedback and also have a suggestion for it, let our suggestions be here as well.
