My steam is in English, my game is in German. **How ever in game the Y and Z key are inverted.**
It is correct in steam so I guess it is a game problem.

I have a similar Issue. I'm using Kubuntu 24.04. Steam is in German and my keyboard layout is also German. Y and Z are swapped so I had to rebind the commands. Would be nice if fixed in a future update
