I find it very unfortunate that the steam demo is so limited, especially at a time when maximum feedback on the game is good to have. You don't really want to play it for those who are only discovering the game with this demo, yet the Alphas made available to a limited group of people are very nice and interesting. In addition, seeing that the lifespan of the game is greatly extended compared to Shapez 1, not to mention that the crystal adds difficulty due to its fragility, is also a plus for players who like this game. It's a shame that the Steam demo doesn't include not these 2 things forward. People who only test the Steam demo might believe that it is nothing but a 3D version of the game Shapez 1 when that is not true!
#Steam Demo = 3D version of Shapez 1?? It's WRONG

Shapez 1 demo is also short?
A demo’s purpose is to give you a taste of what the full game will be
Why would you buy the full game if the free demo is just as long
Thanks for you feedback 👍
The demo is not a showcase but more of a teaser. It is intentionally used as a marketing material to catch peoples interest. If you then are interested you can proceed to play by supporting the developers via patreon
I'm sure the team made the decision on the content for the demo with the representation of the game in mind 🙈
In a period of development of the game and for a period of 1 month of demo, then offering a version of the game which shows that it is not just a copy but a redesigned version of the previous opus would be a plus. If a YouTuber tested this game saying "Shapez 2 is nothing other than a 3D version of Shapez 1" it wouldn't surprise me and yet it would sadden me because it is so much better!!!
It’s not like tobspr is actively hiding the full content of the game though
The trailer, the devlogs, etc etc
I think there’s plenty in the demo that is unique enough to attract interest
In a vacuum it does seem like the way you are thinking but in actuality there’s far more to consider other than just the demo
I can’t think of a game demo that deliberately spoils endgame content
People who are not on patreon or who do not know that an Alpha is available on this discord will only have this Steam demo to judge the game... so let them think that it is only a 3D version of Shapez 1 is a shame and may not make them want to buy this version. I give this opinion imagining that I do not know the other alpha versions but only this version. I have the advantage of having already spent 100 hours playing in Alpha and knowing that it is so much better but those who judge the game only on this demo could be disappointed or even lower the popularity of the game by saying that it is not than a 3D version of Shapez 1. That would be a real shame!
Your take is fine but ignores the multiple dev logs and other S2 teasers as well as assumes that only S1 players will want to play
Again if you are interested in the game, you would consider joining the discord
Although there aren't many hints, the other content (as mentioned before: trailers, screenshots, devlogs) suggests that it's not the end. Demo itself also contains a few references to the concepts not in the demo, and I believe that the research list also has all further upgrades
I haven't played the demo much, but I think it's pretty clear that it shows only like 2.85% of the actual game
People who only test the Steam demo might believe that it is nothing but a 3D version of the game Shapez 1 when that is not true!
Is that not what a trailer is for? To show what is possible in this game? The demo is just a bonus that most games you find don't even have.
The demo version might want to have a popup or something saying like "this is just a prelude of the shapez 2 universe" before everything or after the final mission. I agree with the fact that everyone always won't see multiple sources to make a judgment and some people don't hesitate to spread their opinion based on very limited sources
The game is BEAUTIFUL! There are details right at the beginning that left me speechless! For example, an orange barrier at intersections that blocks and releases items. I thought it was incredible... But what worries and bothers me the most... is not being able to set the FPS limit. I want to play at 60.. and it's 168 FPS making my PC fry at 83 degrees! Please put a way to limit the fps so that the temperature decreases! Thanks!
i am someone who just played the demo, not the alpha any yes, it looks like shapez 1 but with unlocking the space, weired stackers and it looks that the gpu is now limiting the game and not the cpu (only 1 core), but we will see 🙂
One thing that could be implemented... is for us to be able to turn off and on the turning and cutting machines for example... let's say... we are cutting squares and we want to send whole squares... if we have a way to turn off the cutters... we can sending only squares for example... it would be incredible for the game to have that.
if we got filters like in old shapez, you can split the belt how you like and overjump cutters and other things.
