The Bug

Wish I had some recordings of this but occasionaly when first starting to go up a ladder the entire game starts stuttering hard to the point where I am not even going up the ladder, just stuck on it. I thought it might be some other performance issue but it seems to only happen on the ladders. The fix for this is to hold S to go back down the ladder. Once off it, it immediately stops stuttering and if I then go back up the ladder everything is fine. I've heard others encountering this bug as well, they were the ones who informed me that going back down fixes it.

The Ladders?

As part of Feedback, the ladders are what I least enjoy on every ship layout as as they feel like they waste precious time and can be slightly annoying to interact with. On the squid specifically I'd rather there be short ramps instead of ladders. In the Taurus I understand the need for the massive ladder to the helm, but I love that it has ramps elsewhere. On the manta which is very tight, I get why there are ladders but again If there was some way to just have ramps instead. Being able to constantly move about uninterrupted keeps the pace/awareness up rather than staring at a wall for a few seconds while chaos ensues around us.

Gotta make sure our ships are ADA compliant. 😤

a note for squid, pyzo, you never actually need to take the ladders (i think they might be slower anyways, if nothing else they feel that way), theres boxes and gaps spaced perfectly so you can just jump up twice to get up, on either side right next to the ladders
in the back you can just jump on either side engine and then jump up again, the ladders are never needed
doesnt work for manta and taurus tho
