This happened on 3 occasions within a couple of hours. I couldn't bring up the menu via the escape button, it would only show the map as if I were in night fold for a brief second and then automatically close it out. The only thing I could do was chat. I had to alt+f4 and restart the game every time this happened. Each time this happened I was fighting enemies in the open world.
