Changes

  • Significantly increased the health of all Agari, including all Vadagar, Siege Bannerets, Castellans, and Conductors.
    The Agari have recently struggled to withstand the growing strength of the Envoys. With Joinery damage now intrinsic to weapons, stronger buildcrafting, and Rune-driven bursts of damage, these encounters were ending too quickly. Agari should now remain formidable foes and have greater opportunity to fight back while the strongest Envoys can still shine.
  • Certain Runes now have a small chance to drop from chests. Rare chests are slightly more likely to contain a Rune.

  • Reduced the Wevetwood Sap cost to brew the Elixir from 10 to 8.
  • Reduced the brewing timer from 2 hours to 30 minutes.
  • Wevetwood Sap can now be found in the Neath’uns.
  • The Avex can now perform a charged sprinting Heavy Attack.
  • Changed the Agari “Reaper” to “Flayed Reaper.”

Fixes

  • Fixed Runes not activating while wielding Avex.
  • Fixed Flame damage over time ticks ignoring Armour values.
  • Fixed the Mestra’s set unintentionally having each Virtue Attunement present, while also requiring Spirit to equip.
    The set now is attuned with Grace.
  • Fixed Clients not seeing post-duel cutscenes in The Wreck Of Mestra Carmo.
  • Fixed Clients seeing the final cutscene of The Wreck Of Mestra Carmo following the second duel.
  • Fixed Client’s being able to access their Sidearms during a duel in The Wreck Of Mestra Carmo.
  • Fixed Party members being unable to leave the Kith of Kings or Alca’s Children Enclave if they had not unlocked the entrance already and left the Party.
  • Fixed Navalha’s thrown trajectory being slightly misaligned with the original throwing direction.
  • Fixed wolf sounds appearing during The Waste Bear Fable.
  • Fixed missing enemy camps around Kairness.
  • Fixed sometimes scrolling a different scrollbar than intended at certain resolutions in the Journal.
  • Fixed Clients seeing incorrectly created clones of Mestra Carmo in the final duel.
  • Fixed Mestra Carmo missing her rapier in the third duel’s cutscene.
  • Fixed the Rune node, seen while hovering over a weapon in the Arsenal, disappearing after swapping Loadouts.
  • Fixed the Spirit Guide not appearing after escaping a Mockery’s grasp.
  • Fixed a ‘profile’ option appearing while inspecting another Envoy in the social menu.
  • Fixed a crash if an Envoy crafts the Duelo Ribbon as a Client.
  • Fixed a script error while using the Journal.
  • Fixed a script error while reviving.
  • Fixed a script error with Ode Tempest’s Passives.
  • Fixed a script error while encountering Fenn Jotar during The Torment Stag.
  • Fixed a script error while using The Torrent.

This is really good, honestly, the game needs more difficulty. Enemies should be memorable and provide better fights. But making Agaris harder and putting runes in chests? That makes no sense at all.

The only reason to do Agaris is for the runes, and now it basically doesn’t make sense to run them outside of Coga. This should have been an improvement to them, but it just became one less reason to do them.

You removed lifesteal, nerfed passive healing, limited us to 5 health pots, and now you buff Agari health — including the ones in the new raid where one of them can heal the others? And at the same time, you broke rune activation (Spectral Sight + Heavy Attack? Seriously?), you still haven't added an XP bar for weapons, and you call reward pool changes 'progression' while Siege ranks remain a complete mystery? Oh, and you "fixed" the Mestra armor by locking it to Grace only — dropping my armor from 139 to 109. Great. Thanks for killing creative builds. I'm all for difficulty, but this isn't difficulty — it's lazy number padding and ignoring what players actually need. Respect our time, or you'll lose your core testers.

I personally disagree, being passionate about a game is commendable and shows true love for the project but in the end this is a game and messing up something or "not fixing a bug" for an extended period of time is not worth ranting directly at the devs, DE has not deserved this amount of vitriol from the community after how much they listen to people.

I'm not a fan of the spectral sight addition to use rune charges but it was a change that was suggested by the community and that DE implemented in the span of a week.

The scope of game right now is to be testers before players, does DE need to come out and tell us "we couldn't fix this" every hotfix a certain bug is not mentioned, or would the community team's time be better spent moderating the community?

Ran Siege Mirifuir (after patch/recently) with nothing but my armour, 5 potions, a level 15 Gathanan, light attacks and heavy attacks. Died 4 times at the final section only, and it was because I did not dodge, parry, block, kick, throw weapons, avoid attacks, use Pact abilities, Runes, or even had the heal from Smiting active. Any of these would have kept me alive (beside kick maybe). Should give you an idea of how easy this game is, even after this patch.

You can kill the Discharged Nimrod near the Organ using the Organ's lightning strikes. It dies instantly. Then you can destroy the Organ and loot both. I reported it. Still not fixed.

Sad to see this one. I thought rapiers throwing higher than normal was intended. It was actually super useful for hitting distant targets, like the baloons in the Collector.

There are 2 things I would like to see expanded/reworked RN:

-Potions

They should HoT and not instant heal, and their maximum carried amount should be upgradeble with Verminia.

-The Wyld Weapons/Armor

These should have at leat 4 grace/spirit/courage scaling, no need to change their damage, but since they were not cheap, are considered a premium gear and are told to be stuff of "legend" at the very least they should be attuned to their virtues properly, currently their attunement is laugable.

I was at 157 (53 physical, 52 magick, 52 stability) before totems (+10 physical, +15 magick).
Now I'm at 105 (41 physical, 28 magick, 36 stability) before totems.
Using Wyld Sirin's Tickster Prism with with +6 on all virtues via pact and another +3 from Triune for 15 courage, 16 spirit, 32 grace. So I lost 52 armor (12 physical, 24 magick, and 16 stability).
Orengall's gives 117 (51 physical, 23 magick, 43 stability) 10 more physical, 5 less magick, 7 more stability.

I also notice Maestra's is now the 2nd armor that does not follow the same Scaling for each piece. The head (Helm) scales 3, 2, 2 while the Chest (Furbelow) and leggings (Breeches) scale 3, 2, 3.

The only other set with a distinction like this is Wazzard's where the head (Bycoket) and chest (Robes) scale 2, 3, 1 and the leggings (Trunks) scale 2, 2, 2.

I originally thought the Wazzard's leggings having a different scaling was a bug and I reported it as such when Wazzard's armor was introduced but since it has not been hotfixed I can only assume it was intentional as is the Maestra's.

Well, I use mine all the time when I go around half, and increased attack speed is not going to help with my ranking/rating for rewards when I am dead. You had lots of opportunities to back away completely into the lower floor when you were dodging attacks, and even if you got hit, you were tanking just fine with that 25% health, so honestly, retreat could have been the best course of action. Also, even if you did not have potions, you could have used the stairs as an advantage to throw your weapon from distance and hide low right after throwing the weapon to retrieve from safety.

yesterday i started doing cogah runs for the first time and the whole time as i was killin all the bosses multiple times is “gee i can’t wait for the bosses to be stronger and not die in less than 30 seconds” just for me to find out later that night that the health buff hotfix had already been implemented. mind you in terms of runes, i only had a non-cogah flame rune for one of my weapons and nothing for the other. i was also using one of the base virtue prisms

i do agree with you on increasing the health pools dont really do anything. we need more challenge and difficulty that isnt just numbers. but regarding health pools, the fact that i was eviscerating bosses w non late tier gear AFTER the health buffs thinkin it was still yet to be implemented is saying something

Siege bosses should have actual mechanics, as opposed to being a normal "this boss has a billion health but is otherwise just a normal enemy"

I.e. having to break pieces of armor, deplete a shield, attack them from behind, or otherwise make them mechanically different from just being big grunts

I keep getting pinged on this, and people are only seeing the last 30 seconds of my fight in that clip.
I was unable to heal because of the intense projectile spam, and trying to heal would have gotten me killed during the animation, meaning it wasn't an option for me.

There's a common consensus in games, glass cannons aren't meant to be tanky.
The fight at the end feels like the triple bosses is meant to be fighting against three spammy glass cannons.

But with the health buff, they're no longer glass cannons, but rather tanky cannons.

I'm not saying Tethren isn't powerful, but it does seem to be the only pact that keeps getting nerfed, I enjoy Tethren because it feels like a berserker class, you heal on kill that encourages playing more recklessly (but you still need to dodge and block/parry)

As OP as Tethren's stacking damage skill is, I feel people kinda ignore the fact that you need to chain hits and not cancel/interrupt them and make sure every one of them lands, maybe it's not the most skillful thing in the game to do, but it still does require a certain level of skill.

All I hear now though is that other pacts are superior or have better damage so it kinda just feels like Tethren is getting punished because people used it well.
idk, I'm not normally bothered by nerfs, and honestly I still think Tethren is fine in the state it's in, but it does feel like it's being both nerfed and powercrept at the same time.

Meanwhile I can whip out my Duelo pistol and get 550 damage at minimum with much less effort required.

Same with the Unhindered Passive for Magick weapons, can make it fly through like 4-5 enemies, but it's rare you even find that many in a pack 😛 And when you do, they spread out.

one thing to also think about is what direction DE actually wants to take soulframe to. are they tryna go for more slow, methodical combat akin to soulslike or are we gonna lean more into the power fantasy of games like warframe with various abilities and runes and amps, etc.

obviously they’re not tryna go for one or the other, more like somewhere in between but their own thing, but the question is, where exactly? they def got a couple ideas on what they want the game to be but i wouldn’t say they’ve fully identified where they wanna end up at

i will say, before this update i didn’t have any runes or anything and so all of soulframe combat to me was either stand still, close your eyes, and spam left click (started w magick weapon) which got super duper boring or use a melee that was also just spam left click with occasional heavys and dodges and so the combat was the weakest aspect imo but now after using different pacts and havin a bit of build variety due to runes, ive been enjoying the combat a LOT more (tho its still extremely easy)

I personally still enjoy Magick weapons, even if they feel monotone, just because of how cool they look to use 😄 So few games that actually uses the staff as the medium to cast spells 😄

also the fact that the majority of melee weapons are just a basic sword moveset (i know they’re gonna add more weapon types) they all just blend into one lame thing (even tho there are sum cool ass designed swords)

i do feel like different weapon types should have different combat styles or something (doesn’t have to be drastically different) i don’t like the fact that whether i’m using a short sword, long sword, rapier, etc they’re all just the same thing with slightly different animations. hell if it wasn’t for the slow attack speed, there’d be no difference of a greatsword to any other sword. just want variety tbh

i remember first building it thinking a fire sword is gon be cool asf only to be disappointed cuz the only difference is cosmetic.

i can only wonder what the weapons changes will be for p15 but one idea would be to make each weapon a bit more special for example, the igne mor could have slightly less physical damage but you get to apply a dot to burn enemies. or for weapons that special enemies or bosses use to be able to use a cool special attack that’s unique to that specific weapon

Even if they are similar, I think melee has a lot of options: Great sword, Long sword, rapier, polearm, dual short blades etc. but magick is still limited with it only recently being focused on so Im excited to see some new options for magick/spirit users

Well magic is hard to balance since you get lots of damage while keeping youself far from the enemy, so i hope they'll avoid overtuning it further in the future, same with bows

i do think there are very small differences like the hitbox or size of a heavy from a gauntlet is different to a staff but i’d like to see more interesting variations.

this got me thinking about the potential concept of status effects in soulframe. i feel like it would be a good system to add diversity in combat.

rn theres not much difference between the 3 gauntlets other than the virtue pips/requirements and cosmetic. sure odiac does voltaic dmg while baskers wrest does arcanic but other than how the damage is applied to enemies, i dont think theres a difference in those damage types.

introduction to status effects in soulframe would add an easy way to differentiate weapons. odiac can at deal the voltaic status effect and that status effect could be something similar to electric from wf where it stuns and/or chains or it can be a whole new effect if they want to separate themselves from wf combat

Bosses killed in Hard Mode are added to the Codex as normal, as indicated by the drop list in the book. Upon reloading, enemies 2 and 1 were lost, despite being told they were fixed. Progress stalled at 40 enemies in Hard Mode; after clearing the entire map and all bosses four times, no enemies were added to the Codex. Hard Mode doesn't count. It's best not to play during the first month after the release of any new prelude. Otherwise, you'll be like lab mice being experimented on.

it doesn’t give 1 scan per session, it takes 3 smites to complete an entry, there is an upgrade through orlicks questline that is supposed to cut it down to 2 smites but is currently bugged, relogging shows what you’re actually at progression wise in the journal

Oh, is the team already feeling the powercreep from their lack of creative design when it comes to Runes etc? "Do 200% more damage" is only gonna be a worse design as time goes on and more weapons are thrown at us. Please, I would ask that Runes give some utility like Polymorph or Pushback/Knockdown or Entaglement or any number of other more creative solutions. More damage. Who even came up with that? Boring imo. No offense. But on a serious note, are all of the non-damage ideas going to be saved for Pact Abilities specifically?

Well idea i had was good. Play Soulframe to colect mising weapons and armors to relax your brain from M+ and Mythic raiding in World of warcraft slog. In exchange we got hp and dmg boost to minibosses making it same slog i already play in other game. Tyvm DE. Will check game back if/when you revert normal overworld changes to minibosses (use cogah mode to give people who want it challenge leave normal world for exploration and relaxation)
