I don't know the name of the beastie, so I'm including a screen cap 😄
Basically, if I lock it down with Bromius's Wevetroot attack, then kill it to death with my trusty Nettle, it gets stuck in this goodest boy pose where it continues to bark and pant and look all happy. No longer takes damage and does not die/drop loots 🙁
I've been able to replicate it at different locations with this particular mini-boss doggy (not the regular doggos you see with the other goons).
