step 5 isn't needed if you claim your own code via twitch stream,
you only need to redeem the code if you got it from someone else

Me and my friends had to redeem the code manually, since it didn't automatically redeemed it

Maybe I shouldn't say skip then, instead just refresh the account management page after pressing claim and see if it says access enabled, if it doesn't then go to redeem code page.
Cuz yesterday after claiming the code on the account management page it automatically gave people access and they didn't understand why they can't then redeem the code
