PvP New Players Retention

Every player is given 2 AoE DPS and a single target DPS for free

I stopped reading at the third paragraph, full disclosure. Anyway the game forces you to build Lian and Gray is pretty justifiable too. Sybil is also cheap. And these are just guaranteed characters, while most people will also have an array of SRs and SSRs from their honeymoon summons. You're being dramatic, and nothing prevents a new player from drafting better. I liked having bans from the start as I came up

Removing post bans actually creates an exteremely unrealistic version of rta, lower elo already has pre bans and 3p protect omitted

Could also very easily piss new players off when you cant post ban force bans to ur draft, altho this is very draft dependant and just a hypothetical

If you can't draft 10 units at the very least you shouldn't consider playing rta at all to be fair. All the games you mentioned as examples are completely different as well and share nothing in common with Etheria outside of being pvp games. Drafting in games like this is the most important part of pvp, because there's no skill involved after you're already in the game. 90% of matches are decided in the pick-ban phase assuming same level of investment on both parts, so removing that core feature would essentially teach new players bad habits.

You don't seem to be a player familiar with this style of games so it's understandable that you're frustrated, but you gotta accept the fact that it takes you well over 1 month of playing the pve before you can even attempt to have a decent roster to simply have a chance in rta. The player retention is not in the pvp, but the time-gated progression. Making small improvement and taking few steps at a time has been always the memo.

You might think 1 month is a very big time investment to essentially waste before you can play the game, but it is like 10x faster than what other competitors offer, people don't realize that. If it's not your cup of tea, that's fine, there's plenty of other better games nowadays to play that are not structured like this.

I do agree that new players however need a better way to get the weekly currency for rta. losing 200 times is not really great way to do that. There's already bots in low ranking rta, so you're gonna get some wins regardless if you stay a very low rank, like bronze-silver so it's not that horrible, but getting 50 tokens from losing would be nice so newer players get the resources they need faster to progress in the game.

As a fellow game developer is completely insane to me that you are comparing mobas like Wildrift with this game, they are completely different genres so bans have a completely different effect, if you want to compare this game with something do it to game like Summoners War, Epic7…

I don’t think that no bans in low ranks is a good idea but I agree that early game pvp is hard, Summoner war have this thing call “support units” basically free units that you can only use in Rta, they have mediocre gear but good enough for ranks below gold, so that could be a good idea to solve early game pvp, and also change matchmaking so levels 100 cant face low levels accounts.

About the “fake player” bro just call then bots like a normal person, Im not 100% sure but I think this is already happening, when I was low rank every like 3-4 games I face this account with the random name that the game have, they have really high level unit but they were really weak like is they don’t have modules so maybe those were bots, not sure on this but it looks like.
