It is pretty obvious nearly everyone is unhappy. However, I think this is still salvageable given the E7 fiasco and their ability to overcome it.
- Base compensation for every player involved. Stamina stabilizers here would be nice since we aren't seeing as much stamina as we thought we'd get related to the balance patch.
- Notes (IN GAME) describing exactly what changed in the hotfix, any missed balance patch changes from release and additional roadmap ideas for why these buffs/nerfs are occurring due to their intended path forward.
- For DoT characters - offer free resets for characters with DoTs in their kit, refund premium currency for those who already reset DoT characters.
- ADDITIONALLY, for DoT characters:
a. Either remove them COMPLETELY for now, announce you're reworking DoTs and give players compensation in the form of a RANDOM unit of that exact level. - Fungus/Obol (random RGB SR pull), Shadow Sania (random LD pull of a unit you do not own). I don't think a selector is needed her personally, but that would be nice.
b. Allow players to choose whether they would like to keep these characters or exchange them for the aforementioned pulls of similar rarity.
It is clear they don't like how DoTs are performing. They have already decided to rework Hoyan, so they are okay reworking characters. Additionally, the precedent has been set from previous games in this genre (PvP gear based gacha) that you can screw up this big and overcome it by doing the right thing.
Finally, the clock is ticking. Every day that passes more and more people are leaving the game, trust is being lost and chargebacks are occurring. Responding to this promptly will be the only way to salvage this.
