He means that if you save a formation preset it only saves the characters, if you wanted certain gear you’d have to back out and re-gear everyone manually or using the gear set function. It would be easier when saving a team formation that it saved the gear as well so you didn’t have to equip and un-equip constantly. The current team formation preset is useless because you can easily just click the characters you want, it’s a useless feature in its current configuration.
