Just wanted to share a few suggestions for the AI based on podcasts and interviews I've been listening to so this is mainly based on the global war on terror type of enemy. These are mainly some points to add the same realistic reasons as to why most raids are preferred to be done at night although that may not always be possible.

*Enemies might sleep or hang out some distance away from their weapons or have to grab it off the floor if you have the element of surprise.
*During the summer in hot countries like in the middle east enemies and civilians might sleep outside in the compound or on the roof of buildings where it is cooler, ties in to the point above about maybe being away from weapons.
*Behavior and accuracy of enemy fire based on lighting. If it is night they should be a lot less accurate unless in a lit room where as in the day time they should be much harder to fight.

Would also be nice to on some missions be able to cut power to the target you are hitting which should of course affect enemy behavior if you choose to do so. Doesn't have to always be the cliché power box, could also be remote detonating explosives placed power lines to the compound or something else.

They should also react to sounds and events. For example, if there’s a pair patrolling and you drop one of them, the second one should react by looking for cover and/or trying to find where the shot may have come from …
