When you get hit, there should be a corresponding sound effect.
For example, getting hit by an arrow should make a specific sound, and a bullet penetration should make a different one.
This way, you can evaluate the threats around you and figure out what type of weapon you're being shot with.
Another cool feature would be if your armor produced different sounds depending on its material.
A hit to wooden armor would make a wood-splintering sound, while a hit to metal armor would make a metallic clank.

Now it feels like playing for a half deaf character 😄

I am actually applying arrow whistle and bullet tracer sounds on my videos. Makes fights much cooler and more epic.
I don't think it's difficult to implement.
Even AI could generate some sounds in that scenario to be honest.
