Right now, especially on solo servers, the gameplay feels a bit low-key. You can raid as many bases as you want, but in the end there’s no real winner, no leaderboard, and no one knows who did what. What’s missing is a sense of glory and a clear purpose.
I’d like to suggest a new mod idea—something I haven’t even seen in Rust:
-
Each player can have only one TC. By raiding other players’ bases, you can capture their TC, and at the end of the wipe, whoever owns the most TCs is the winner.
-
Players who lose their TC can place a new one, but still only one at a time.
-
The names of players who own TCs should be visible in-game (like an info panel or leaderboard). Also, when you’re being raided, you should know who is raiding you—and who you are raiding.
I know this might make people feel like they’re missing having small backup bases scattered around the map, but since the mod would apply to everyone, we’d all have the same limitation. It would push players to move more across the map, take more risks, and create more activity overall.
The single-TC system is just a rough idea—I’m not sure if it would fully work and it would need some careful balancing. But the core concept of having a clear objective, along with a leaderboard or scoring system, is something I’ve always felt was missing, even in Rust.
Maybe Strayed can make it happen!
